What do people think? Is it better to invest, say, 100 dollars in ether or bitcoin?
Investing in both is best, however you only have $100 so investing in ETH is better. My thinking is ETH will be improvements in the future, the price will be better when fee is no longer an issue.

With such an amount, of course, you should best invest in Ethereum, and at the moment you should wait for the Ethereum price correction and then after the correction you can safely invest in Ethereum and most importantly, wait until the Ethereum price drops very much.

You have too little capital to diversify for Eth and BTC, it's better to take the upper project which is Bitcoin, if you want to get ROI faster it's better to take risk on bitcoin for now and if you make good amount of ROI then you can consider Ethereum

If your budget is only 100 dollars then obviously you should pick ETH or may be another option from top altcoin list with good potential like TRX.
Please stop giving shitty advice to people in the times of volatility and a pandemic. TRX is shittiest worst shitcoin that can ever be. Second only to frauds like XRP. If there is anything that someone witha limit of 100 USD should buy, that is BTC.
Right now, things are at ATH so I'd advice to buy just 50 USD worth of BTC and place an order for 50 USD at a lower entry point. Buying ETH with the remaining 50 USD would also be fine. Just DO NOT put money into any of the others if you do not have money you can afford to play with.

If you can't figure out the best for you just split the 100$ into two and invest in Bitcoin and Ethereum, the best coin that will bring the highest ROI is still bitcoin but Ethereum can still reach a new all time high also or if you are good at trading you can use the 100$ for trading instead

It is so broad question. If you ask a simple person then he/she will answer Bitcoin because they only know about Bitcoin. If you ask this question to some crypto-nerds they will talk about the importance of both cryptocurrencies. It is just a preference of individuals.

Both are two sides of a coin as BTC remains king of crypto, ETH will be considered as alts king. Only the market capitalization and dominance matters.

To me both are precious and BTC is my favorite pick then comes ETH and some other alts, these two depends on our investment because BTC price is too high compared to ETH. This time BTC pumped a massive rally of 300% where as ETH was at the previous ATH. However both are worth Investment for long-term.

In this case, I will prefer Eth instead of bitcoin as bitcoin is already in the savage mode meaning the price is very high already and reaching 2x or 3x will be very difficult already while in ETH there is still a big chance that you can hit a x2 and x3 if you get lucky.

This is only my opinion if I were to choose between the two because Eth is still in the process of breaking it's ATH while bitcoin is already creating an ATH again and again.

Which is better-bread or tomato?
That's about how your question sounds. The only thing that BTC and ETH have in common is that they are conceptually still cryptocurrencies. Their applications are as different as possible in their essence, at least because of the technical characteristics, at most because of the ease of use.
BTC at the moment (and for a long time already) is convenient only for storing and accumulating fiat due to the increase in the rate of BTC itself, i.e. for creating money out of thin air.
But ETH can already be much more convenient due to much higher TPS and use at the expense of a better structure and design.
Maybe you should at least study the market first before coming and asking "what's better?" Or when you choose toilet paper or wallpaper, you also ask on the forum what is better-in a flower or with a triple layer?

Bitcoin and ethereum are the two most used coins. I think if you want to invest, you can invest in either of the two. However, investing in the current bullish market is a little risky. Because if the market goes down, there is a possibility of a lot of loss.

Correction may hurt you big time, better to make sure to understand what you are investing with.

Both coins are good if you are aiming for long term engagements as you won't go into any panic once the value experienced corrections but if you are looking for short term benefits, better to study more deeper, you need to understand more about how to ride with the right time and quit away with decent profits.

you need to take into account a few things:

1 - When the price of bitcoin also increases the price of ETH in relation to USD increases

2 - When the price of bitcoin is stable, the price of ETH in relation to bitcoin increases.

with these two tips I gave you you should already be able to decide which way you should take

and when BTC crashes ETH crashes harder

what does it really matter which is better! they don't offer the same services. they have different features, they are both top coin which everyone is interested on, price wise btc takes the lead, tech wise i think this depend of individual interest, and adoption wise, hell btc is leading in this aspect, to me they are both equally good and valuable, although i have a little grudge with eth because of the transaction fees, before btc use to be the coin with high fees but now eth seem to take the lead on that, aside from this, they are both good to me.

both are the best, it's just that they are different, because Bitcoin is used for transaction, whereas Ethereum function as a platform for smart contract, but I personally prefer to invest in Ethereum, because the price of Bitcoin has risen very high but the price of Ethereum has not risen very high (Ethereum price hasn't reached its ATH price), so it is possible if the price of Ethereum can increase higher than the price of Bitcoin for now and give me a big profit.

Bitcoin is the king of crypto market if bitcoin pump the whole market are pumping . 100$ is small amount you need to minimum 1k$ to 10k$ so you will get some good profits from this. I am not against Ethereum but bitcoin is a digital gold and they reach 400k to 900k$ easily in the next decade . So if you are long terms holder buy bitcoin in Dip and Hold it for a decade so you get some profits from 100$

100$ only?? I would say Ethereum.
Why not Bitcoin??

If I only have a hundred dollars, I would rather invest it on Ethereum and stake it. There is a risk with it but it doesn't matter. Its just a hundred dollars and you can possible earn more with staking. After all, I know that most of the people here are investing more than $100 into crypto right Smiley.

If you have more money though, I would suggest to focus on Bitcoin and put some in Ethereum.

I mean, just diversify it if you don't really sure, can't go wrong with either any of them though as you can see in CMC for example both have history of good ROI and now already up thousands percent and their chart always going up year by year. Though bitcoin is a lot safer than ETH and probably could get you more profit seeing that bitcoin growth this recent time actually surpass those alts which have significantly less market cap. If you really try to go all in a single coin then try bitcoin.
