Bitcoin, Bitcoin and stay with Bitcoin, because it's the safest for you as a beginner. If you can't do the research yourself, holding bitcoins is best. But if you've watched someone over the years make a good living with crypto, why don't you follow him and wake up now. You may be too afraid of risk to have more desire to get into crypto. Don't use minimal knowledge, you have to learn the basics of crypto and it needs to be done. Don't ask which crypto is good for investment, but ask yourself if you are ready with crypto and all the risks.
Being afraid of taking too many risks is a good thing as that saves you from getting more potential losses. People who tend to invest in altcoins or new coins should have this instinct of being a little afraid of the risks otherwise they will be exposed to exponential losses. Also, it is never recommended to follow someone else's decisions, especially in trading. Your trades should be based on your own research and even if based on instincts, they should be yours and not someone else's.

if you will explore alts, it is always advisable to keep up with their news and updates, lurk around their soc med channels and you will get insights on where they are heading at. sometimes you will get the instinct of the team's plans with their replies. so if you believe they are about to abandon the project, much better sell off rather than hold worthless coins later on.

I have been a crypto enthusiast for some time now, thou I have lacked consistentency, but over the years I have seen people who have carved out good lives for themselves with crypto, either by direct or indirect investment.,as a result I wish to invest in crypto with cash, but with minimal knowledge,so I seek the help of this house in advise on which crypto to invest in currently as someone who is just getting to learn about crypto currency.

Know the risks of crypto investment first so you will know the amount of funds that you would allocate for it. Just invest what you can afford to lose. I agree with the majority that focusing on Bitcoin will be the best thing to do. If you will do research, you would know the capability of Bitcoin to give you a prpromisingrofit. You only have the patience and courage to deal with the volatility of the market as you choose a long-term investment.

true, in the long time view, bitcoin maybe not the one with highest return, but the most secure coin to invest.

if you want to invest for a long time, choose the POW based coins. dont choose POS tokens. the POS tokens could be very risk and prepared to crash to zero. just the DAO and FTT. when there is problem with the stake, then the tokens is useless. some tokens issued by specific organization, company or some individuals also is very risk. after they got enough profits, may sell all tokens. then most investors will get burned. you may try to diversify your packaged investment with top 10 coins. not financial advise, just what i did on my own.

This way of investing on someone else's advice will not lead you to success. However, the most common answer would be that a beginner should invest in bitcoin, as it is the safest in the cryptocurrency market. If you had more knowledge, then you could choose something from altcoins and such an investment could bring more profit.

There are people that crypto-currency has worked for them that’s making them financially better than what they were before Crypto. But also there are people who Crypto-currency did not work for them this has to do with wrong moves, over expectations and insufficient support/knowledge .

To invest successfully in crypto-currency you should have good knowledge and newbie investors really don’t have time for learning. I am into Bitcoin and so has it been for a long while, Altcoin is too risky for me. I check out for consistency, reviews, Market history and price.

I think, Bitcoin is the best to invest because it still remain the king among other cryptocurrencies which it will allow you to enjoy some reward in your investment when the price increase higher. Now that the price of Bitcoin has decreased to 24,182, showed that you can use any amount of money to invest in Bitcoin and hold to watch when the price will increase higher to your satisfaction before you can sell to experience what other potential traders are experiencing in the community. I believe, you will not regret why you invest in Bitcoin, because whenever Bitcoin price is pumping in the market other cryptocurrencies price will be pumping too, showed that Bitcoin investment is a profitable investment.
I agree, bitcoin is by far the best one and will stay the best one and investing into it would make you the most profit. However, if we are in altcoin section and I am forced to pick an altcoin to pick, I would have to pick ethereum because then we are talking about altcoin in that case, even though it is second ranked and bigger than most coins combined, it's still an altcoin, and I believe that it will definitely be staying at a high level and not going anywhere anytime soon.

In that way, you are investing into something because iti s highly ranked like you would on bitcoin, but you are still picking an altcoin at the same time. Bitcoin and ethereum, they are just too good to not pick.

Bitcoin and Ethereum.

Yes there are many altcoins out there that you can invest your money with, but Bitcoin and Ethereum are the 2 top coins in terms of market cap, the 2 most trusted coins. I don't know if this is applicable for both of them, but they're like the blue chips in the crypto market since they are at the top for a long time.

Overall, sometimes it depends on the investors themselves. Are they ready to take the risk? Will they not panic if the worst thing happens with the coins they bought? Are you not affected if your coin goes down massively? How much are risk are you willing to take? Are you a conservative or an aggressive investor? Some of the question that an investor must answer first. If you're an aggressive one then maybe try those coins below top 50 or even those new projects out there. Now if you're a semi-conservative then just go with the coins that are at the top 10 in terms of market cap. If you're conservative then go Bitcoin only.

Just take note that the higher the risk, the higher the reward and vice-versa.
Actually in this case I don't really like to compare things that are not comparable.
Regardless, Ethereum is one good altcoin, but I still don't think they can be compared to bitcoin.
Bitcoin can't be compared to anything else Ethereum can only follow behind and in this condition it's clear they really can't be compared because it's really not worth comparing either.

To answer your question OP, there's no doubt that surely bitcoin is the best crypto to invest in as no matter if your a late holder, you can always have a good profit in the future especially if you're looking for acquiring it for a long term holding. And this year is frankly the best for you to hold because next year, there will be a halving (which is a natural phenomenon for bitcoin in every 4 years) and we know what comes next.
But I still recommend you to learn about crypto and have your own study so that you won't be surprised about what might happen in the future, be it positive or negative.

Bitcoin is the primary coin while ETH is next to it so if you invest in these coins then you made a right choice. But as others have pointed out already, don't just blindly invest or rely in our suggestions because it's not wise to enter in any investment opportunity without knowledge about it. So always do your diligent research to avoid committing mistakes.
I agree that if you can't make a guess or prediction by yourself and you have to rely on others to make it for you then it is not really a healthy investment to begin with. It would be much better if people could research all the coins they want, and make their own decisions if it will go up or not.

I personally just buy more and more bitcoin these days, and there is really not a lot of research required for it neither, it is mostly done by itself and you are not required to do a lot of research. It is going to go up, maybe not today, maybe not in another year too much, but it will go up, that is my own decision and my own prediction and I invest accordingly.

Do you want an easy and turnkey investment solution? This is not the case in this area. It is impossible to play these games with minimal knowledge. In investing in cryptocurrencies, knowledge plays a key role. Without it, all your cash will quickly evaporate.

Are you also willing to risk your money and take the advice of other people whose investment competence you don't know? And you seem to be an adventurer, my friend. Smiley

If I give you advice it will definitely motivate you to invest in Bitcoin only. Bitcoin is the only currency in which to invest without doubt. But it will not always guarantee you profit unless you can hold it for a long time. So if you are interested in long term investment then invest in Bitcoin. Because investing in altcoins may give you a high profit but there will be high risks which Bitcoin does not have. yes, investing in bitcoin is also riak but less then Altcoins
Bitcoin is indeed the best alternative for newbies and for experts. Bitcoin is for everyone and OP will be doing the right decision if he goes through this way on his investment. However, I just fear his minimal knowledge may prevent him from storing his coins safely in a decent wallet, like a hardware Ledger or Trezor one. More or proportionally dangerous to investing in the wrong cryptocurrency, is to not know how to hold it with security.
There is a saying that freedom is harder to defend than to gain. So a person can buy Bitcoin or any other cryptocurrency anytime he wants but keeping it secure and holding it for long time is not very easy task for everyone. So I doubt for the op that he will be able to invest in Bitcoin and hold it for the long term.  If he can do that then good for him but if he can't then he won't get good results from investing in Bitcoin or any other cryptocurrency. that is the point

by having knowledge about bitcoin and the crypto world in general, it can minimize the risk of losses due to personal mistakes. many beginners seem to be toyed with price fluctuations, they are easy to panic if they experience wild movements. as the title says it is an investment, of course it is related to the long term, so even if there is a floating minus we have to be patient waiting for it especially if we hold bitcoin
Honestly, investing is not just all about knowledge and capital but also needs managing skills like how to handle ourselves during a crisis. Meanwhile, it can be learned somehow along the way. The more we got involved in the crypto world and have more experience during the hard times, it eventually helps us organize our decisions and make know what we gonna do next.

Lack of knowledge will cause a lot of consequences, in addition to him not knowing how to keep bitcoin safe, lack of knowledge also makes him unable to withstand market fluctuations. Investing in cryptocurrencies means we face many risks, from market volatility to keeping our assets safe from hacker attacks. I think he should not rush to invest even in bitcoin, what he needs is knowledge because when he has enough knowledge, investing will become easier.

Just focus on Bitcoin and ETH, which is the safest crypto to invest with. Don't get tempted by those high rewards projects because this will be the reason for your failure and losses. And most of all, you have to change your mindset and give yourself more time to study the market performance. However, if you are just holding for long-term, then it was not necessary to do it but of course, you need to monitor your investment and its price as well. It is gonna be fine investing these two leading coins than others.
Thank you  for the advice,I am currently doing more research on it,your contribution was helpful.
