In my own opinion or statement about having a whitepaper for every ICO projects is important for the sake of their investors or supporters will have some additional source of information about a the project, where it will be listed , what will be it's uses and most important , is how it can help to improve the crypto industry. It is where the whole project is detailed about.

To the best of my knowledge, whitepaper stands as the mirror reflecting what the project has to offer. This encompasses the project aim, problems solved by the project, the team, their vision and mission, disclaimers for ICO partakers, product information or MVP, Road map including other vital aspects of the project not mentioned in this context. But sadly enough, a superb whitepaper is not a guarantee that a project is not scam, so proper due diligence is necessary.

White paper is very important in order to determine if the current project you are joining or ico that you are interested to invest is legitimate or not so white paper is very necessary for investors to be knowledgeable.

It is very important to read the whitepaper because it is the root on how they explained their products if it's really worth it to invest and joined their project.

I believe gone are the days where white paper defines a lot of advantages
Because scam projects now have beautiful and fantastic white paper too

And you have to be extra careful
Not all white papers are real anymore

From whitepaper, you will find the clue about the legit of the ICO of company.
Some fake ICO create their whitepaper with only copy-pasting another ICO's whitepaper.
If you find any weird names or something that doesn't belong to their company, then it has high possibility for a scam ICO.

Also some hint of scammy project will sometimes be found out inside the whitepaper, most of the community that revealed something weird found it from white paper whether it's from the technical aspect or even the team members. Whitepaper is where you get the most information, not from any other sources.

How do you know about the project if you don't read white paper? How do you know if the project is a Scam? I understand that sometimes you can just look at the site and the team to determine what this ICO is, but this is only if you have a Frank fraudulent project.

the presence or absence of a whitepaper can be a scam, but a whitepaper can also be a benchmark for ICO success because if an invoetor wants to know the details of the proposal, it is advisable to read the whitepaper.

can not be known with certainty just by looking at the white paper. believe that all ico at the beginning of the period will definitely present a very good white paper, road map and project. but it could be at the end of the period or even in the middle, becoming a scam project.
