Man I thought I'd be out of here by now. I'd really like to post in some of the discussions in the economics section. Mod-please have mercy on me.
You seem to lack the bitcoin-specific economics knowledge for me to do that, sorry. That's just fine! But we want people to be prepared to submit informed comments once they are able to post on the main board. I recommend doing some more reading so that you can get in your 4 hours.

Could I be whitelisted?I want to sell my gtx 670.

here is my rating on bitcoin-otc   http://bitcoin-otc.com/viewratingdetail.php?nick=tidus3&sign=ANY&type=RECV

thanks!
Could you sign something with your OTC key that verifies that your bitcointalk.org account is controlled by the same person who controls that key?

Please unlock this business account. Thanks  Smiley
Could we get some more information? A website plus maybe a hidden page that verifies your identity here would be appreciated.

Sure I can sign something but I don't know what it is.Newbie lol

I'll just wait then because I reinstalled Windows, and I lost my wallet.I can't even auth with my username lol.I screwed myself

Hello, I'd like to be whitelisted, because I have question specific to Slush's pool and I cannot post there as a newbie  Sad ... I think I am very well understanding the whole bitcoin theory and I am sure my posts could also help others

My question regarding Slush's pool:

Slush is asking his users to use Stratum interface instead of getwork for miners connecting to his pool. For older miners, Slush has made a Stratum proxy, which should allow older miners to use Stratum interface seamlessly. However, for some reason, this is not working for the miner I am using.
The problem is the target - when I connect to the pool using getwork protocol, the miner reports current target as:
Target = 00000000ffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffff
but when I use the Stratum proxy, the miner reports truncated target:
Target = 00000000ffff00000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000

Theoretically, this should work fine, since hashes, that meet either one of this target are valid, but practically, this does not work for the miner I am using. In the first case, the miner finds hash every few minutes. But in the second case, the miner never finds a hash (I left it running for more than 30 hours). So there certainly is a bug in older miner, but since I cannot use any newer, I wanted to use Stratum proxy.

My question for Slush's Stratum proxy therefore is - why is the pool returning full (untruncated) target in "getwork" response, but Stratum proxy is returning different target (truncated) in "getwork" response. Is this possible to fix, so that my miner does not see any difference, whether connecting to the pool directly, or via the proxy?

thanks...

Have both my Cairnsmore1 Quad FPGA and  ATI rig running on Debian (played with it on Ubuntu), for both slush and butcoinpool. Also have to give cudos to BAMT v.05c.  Already earned 1 BC this week with efficiency of 490% on Bitcoinpool. Spent some time last few weeks reading forums and a lot about BTC and setting up my miner(s) a few times.

I'm was a computer repair technician early on in my life, a novice programmer, and good at networking L2 to L7 last 15 years. Services related to these things are what I'd like to offer to the BTC community. Thank you and it's nice to meet all of you!

Hi,
I've often browsed this site (just as a guest) but want to be a full-fledged member now that BTC are at about $13.5. I have been involved with bitcoin transactions since the day they were about $5/ea (year and a half ago or so)-those were the days. I have a stacked wallet (not to brag-seriously) so I look forward to being active in the marketplace. Like I said I signed up because bitcoins are at where they are at. I have silver, gift cards and more to offer for sale. I'd really appreciate getting over there as fast as possible. Thanks!

Hello,

We run Amagi Metals and sell precious metals. We recently started accepting Bitcoins and would like to take a larger part in the Bitcoin community.

From a mathematical standpoint our knowledge of Bitcoin is limited. From a monetary standpoint, however, I think we understand Bitcoin more than the average Joe. A finite supply, easily divisible, and easily transferable are all important for something such as Bitcoin to be used as money or an alternate currency.

Hi,

can someone whitlist me?

I use bitcoin for a very long time. But I am not very active in bitcoin things. The reason why is registered at this forum is the user fellowtraveler. He is developer of opentransaction and i tried to contact him via mail which was not successful for some reansons. So i would like to PM him or answer him in his thread https://bitcointalksearch.org/topic/m.1384111 so I can find if he just has no time to answer or if the mail got lost or sorted out into spam folder.

My github account is https://github.com/zwiebelcode (just if you are interessted in this)

would be nice to get write access, because this newbie mode is just unuseable...

I'm a bitcoin user for roughly 1 year, and feel that I have a decent handle on the "scene".  So far, ALL of my bitcoin experiences have been positive.

Mostly I use my bitcoins to sports bet, and to play poker.  In fact, I came to this forum after doing a search on the sports betting site that I use, Anonibet. I feel that I have a relevant post to make in the Gambling forum, in the anonibet thread started by poster crowe.

I'm close to being whitelisted anyway, I think.  Just need the hours now.

Peace.

Bump for another try.

Not a spammer; true bitcoin enthusiast who would like to contribute to the gambling forum RE: anonibet.

I've definitely spent 4+hours here, yet for some reason my timer doesn't reflect it.

Bumping to ask once again, please whitelist.  Would like to pahticipate like a normal poster, which is what I will be.  Normally.
