If you ask, who is the most powerful politician at the moment, I will ask you first: how do you measure power?

If you measure it by e.g. how many people they are able to control, I'd respond:
- Vladimir Putin
- Xi Jinping
Why? Because they actually have control over their nations Wink

However, if you measure power by the ability to influence other nations / would events etc, my response would be:
- Angela Merkel & Francois Macron - because those two can practically make anything happen in Europe and around
- Kim Jong Un - because this guy managed to provoke the President of the United States with basically 1 sentence. If you can make POTUS react to what you do / say - you have power, no matter how small country you rule Wink

Any country who's leaders have been corrupt and threw in jail and showed democracy then that's power
to the people..PERFECT..

BUT leaders who could crush opposition parties and kill their own peoples then maybe
RUSSIAN LEADER
IRAN LEADER
CHINA LEADER

And soon the people of the EU will be superstate slaves..SO MANY RULES while the political elite live off your life's work and put your future children in debt while their family have a nice life and always will off you the tax paying slave..

Taxes needed but for the right things ..Not for political families to have a good life.. Wink

I believe the most powerful politicians were the popes of Rome when they were being involve in the government. They were the reasons why sometimes the Rome was called as "the Holy Roman Empire " because popes save the Roman from its fall down. Until now the Pope has still power in some areas concerning political issues.

However, I would say that Vladimir Putin is well known and respected all over the world, but Duterte's sphere of influence is mostly limited to the Philippines and the other countries in the South-east Asian region. Putin is a major world leader and perhaps he is strongest and most influential leader right now.

Alot of the presidents and leaders of this world actually kissed the ass of china as an ally in military and economics. China doesn't just make cheap knock offs anymore. They also make innovations in almost all fields. They cast a very wide net when it comes to investments

Vladimir Putin and Donald Trump. These two are the most powerful people in the world right now. They can start a war if they want to, good thing they were not crazy enough to try it. United States and Russia will always have differences but they were able to talk things out and that is the reason why we world war is not happening again. I am not sure on how rich Vladimir Putin is but for Donald Trump, I think his money can even run a country. Most of the time money can make a person influential and powerful and that is the reason why Trump wins in my opinion.
