A new king means surpassing Bitcoin overall volume. This could happen if we take a time frame of 5+ years or a decade where we might find a coin with a brilliant utility or use case, solving the real world problem effectively. But before that it is quite impossible to surpass Bitcoin in terms of volume because of the huge community support it enjoys.
Now the mainstream currency, BTC-ETH, has the upper hand, and they have the strength and technology, but the future is likely to be a new project to replace them more mature and more comprehensive. What do you think it would be?
I still have no idea if it is still coming or already here no wand already in the market, all just hype trying to be the next Bitcoin in the making but they are just pumped and dump coins, it's still Bitcoin and Ethereum and the answers are pretty obvious.
I think so too. Moreover, if Bitcoin is the king for financial savings, then Ethereum is more convenient for me as a means of payment.
I think the question that Bitcoin would be replaced one day by an altcoin is clear. I have three main competitors for the number one position. LTC, BCH and ETH. These coins are much better than BTC and I prefer them to be at the top.

I think it would be waves. In case ETH goes down so does every other platforms that supports it. But waves has a different story they have different platforms and different tech. I think it has potential to replace in the future sooner than we thought

In general, we do not need any kings in cryptocurrency. We strive to have a decentralized cryptocurrency. Therefore, it would be very good that no price domination over cryptocurrency and no kings should exist, so that each cryptocurrency has its own price formation which would not depend on other types of cryptocurrency. Most likely, due to the fact that a lot of technically promising cryptocurrencies will develop, in the future there will be several leaders and they will often replace each other, since there will not be more such price breaks. Perhaps then there will be no price domination either. Perhaps it will be a good time for cryptocurrency.
To become a new king, of course, takes a very long time. Bitcoin will continue to survive to become the king of coins because now it still has a very high selling value. And many people say that Ethereum will replace Bitcoin. But until now Ethereum is still under Bitcoin. And we also have to be patient because I'm also sure that one-day Ethereum will become a new king.
At present, the king is still full of energy. I mean no coins can go beyond the king. If such an event occurs, people all over the world will join the cryptocurrency. Obviously this is unlikely, and the original economic order is huge.

I don't see any Altcoins could replace Bitcoin but first they should supersede Ethereum as the first step in which its already considered a difficult and ambitious task too in talking of real demand but maybe if they will use price manipulations like the big whales will spend much just to dump Bitcoin and Ethereum then maybe a new Altcoin will step up as the new king.

Bitcoin will be retain and the king of cryptocurrency and no one can beat bitcoin easily because bitcoin is a tough coin. Bitcoin can replace but i think it would take a decade. Ethereum can be the next king if the ERC-20 platform projects will pump.
among the existing projects, I do not see any that could surpass bitcoin. therefore, I believe that bitcoin will be a leader in the cryptocurrency market for a long time.
I don't think that we will see any other new currency which will be capable of replacing BTC or even ETH, current period is very difficult for crypto.
Bitcoin is still king and ethereum is possible next new king after some few years . But there is no specific year when it really happen but and once bitcoin become top 2 crypto down for sure and that is the chance of ethereum to replace bitcoin and ether become king and coins start pumpinh again.
New Etehreum 2.0 can be the new king if in it there are all functions necessary for cryptocurrency community.

I think that even though eth's condition is at the top of the wind, I think BTTC is still the first coin to grow tall. So eth is to replace the BTC, I think it's quite difficult. although the current conditions are not so good, we must be sure that the future conditions will improve.

I think the innovation of having a new king in terms of digital currency of our time now is not going to be happen. It is still remain that Bitcoin is the king. Perhaps, its too early to say that, we may have a lot of digital currency we had it now but it doesn't mean Bitcoin will being replace of course not even Ethereum is always next unto it.
I am sure that Bitcoin will always be on the first line and no one can replace it. you very much underestimate ethereum and bitcoin and too much overestimate new projects. no one will ever replace them
Ethereum simply will not be able to bypass Bitcoin for at least the next two or three years. Can be at all forget about this topic. More a matter of interest what altcoins are applying for a place Ethereum and RIPPLE not in the bill.

There will be no new king, bitcoin is going to remain the king of all of the coins for a very long time to come. There is no project that is as good as bitcoin and it is the coin with the highest number of investors in the market and that alone will make sure that the value of the coin is higher than the value of any of the other coins that we have in the market.
There will be no new kings born, this is a new country that has just been created, and the kings here have absolute rights. Bitcoin remains the strongest coin.
Yes, I agree with you. BTC accounts more than a half of the market capitalization and I think there will be no altcoin can surpass bitcoin. But if we just compare between altcoins with each others, I think in the future NEO or EOS will surpass ETH and become the best altcoin. Jump to:
