Bitcoin will always be the king of cryptocurrencies and no one can ever replaced it. As long as many people will believed and used it, bitcoin will still exist and that's happening nowadays that's why i believe that no one can beat their place and position.
Ripple, NEO, etc. There are a couple of very promising tokens that have the potential to take over from ethereum and Bitcoin. Personally, I don't see any token taking over from these two anytime soon. But then, the crypto world is unpredictable. Fingers crossed though...
Now the mainstream currency, BTC-ETH, has the upper hand, and they have the strength and technology, but the future is likely to be a new project to replace them more mature and more comprehensive. What do you think it would be?
I think that Ethereum and bitcoin will be absolute leaders for a long time. So far, no cryptocurrency is able to replace them
Not see these current kings be replaced in the near future. They are well known, and trusted in the community, not like the new projects.
There is so hard to be a new king after passing the existing King. It will need to take a long time but it would be but who? I am expecting to see ETH as a King.
It is really difficult to predict who will be the best and on the first place. Because people are different and they will choose only from own experience, and to receive such data it is necessary to make a survey. I think it will not affect development and price.
im little bit disappointed about this topic. the bitcoin is here until now and alive but we have to discuss about who is the next king of this industry. we know that the bitcoin is the most important coin out of all. no matter what voin what of the bitcoin dies the other coins are gone too and in the worst case scenario this industry might be gone too .

I think the one who will remain king is bitcoint, as bitcoint's top crypto currency is still hard to beat, ethereum is also good but can't compete with bitcoint, bitcoint until now it remains the king of crypto currencies
In spite of the fact that there would extremely an altcoin that is extremely following the way of bitcoin which is ETH. We as a whole now that there are a ton of new altcoins this days and it depends on the ETH however im not saying that it could outperform bitcoin but rather if there will something happen then there will be ETH here in our side.
In my opinion the new king will be ethereum, Ethereum nowadays is popular and many investors uses ethereum blockchain as a support in their projects.
As for the moment, nothing can replace more than bitcoin and ethereum. They withstood their place in the coinmarketcap for long period days. There can be some coins or tokens that can be candidate, but certainly, they will take more time.

I would like Ethereum or EOS to become the first cryptocurrency - I think this would give a new and very strong push to qualitative changes of the whole market and to its strong development, because the current situation is not encouraging. Strong market drop, the dependence of Altcoins from Bitcoin, less and less qualitative ico-projects, a drop in interest in crypto-currencies among investors and so on. This situation needs to be changed!

i think no digital currency can replace bitcoin's in near future, it will be take a lot of time and lot of work for a new project to be better than bitcoin and this will be not easy task for new projects.

First of all, I think that the new leader of the crypto currency will not have a distinctively high level of capitalization, as its bitcoin had. This will mean that he can no longer dominate the other types of crypto currency, as now bitcoin does. Therefore, the crypto currency can have an independent price, which will not depend on anyone. I think it will be very good. 
as we know bitcoin and ethereum are indeed in the wind that are equally high quality but if there is a new project that is better and able to compete with bitcoin it will be two individuals who will attract investors to move to the better, but bitcoin itself invincible for now and become a king that has a profound influence on altcoins and market prices. if a new project is able to beat bitcoin it is a very advanced development in crypto currency and technology today how people will have the opportunity to invest in ico.
Bitcoin will remain the king of the crypto currency forever, as it is now, eth will be second. but yet nothing is 100% certain.
dash coin has made great progress in recent days. btc and eth control the markets. maybe, this year we will hear dash coin's name more.
