I heared such questions a lot times and everytime BTC stayed to be a king of all coins and altcoins. Ofcourse, maybe Ethereum and a lot oof others currencyes better then BTC, say, some like EOS, Waves, XEM, IONX - but Bitcoin is owner of first born currency priority.
Now the mainstream currency, BTC-ETH, has the upper hand, and they have the strength and technology, but the future is likely to be a new project to replace them more mature and more comprehensive. What do you think it would be?
I don't think that will happen, if that happens there might be a project that is better than them, because it has never happened before, or there may be new innovations that are worth waiting for.
Atleast at near future it's not possible. I don't think there is anything which can replace BTC at first place. BTC is the market itself and everything depends on it. And if said about ETH it is the first popular platform based coin of itself and it has the 2nd place in the list as using product. Almost 60% of this market depends on this two products. It is not about technology cause if you see there is many thing better than BTC as a payment token. And there is a lots of platform token better than ETH. But they still hold their position. Cause they have the trust of people who believe in this market. And it will take a huge time to gain trust by people.
I think the king will not change in the near future. Still ti's remain as BTC. All other coins are just circulating around BTC. So my point, if you have extra money, Buy some BTC and hodl it.
I believe that Bitcoin will not soon give up its position and will give way only to some incredible . Now no one comes on his heels , the competition to take his place there . His time to leave has not yet come

I don't think Bitcoin will be ever replaced from top of the cryptocurrency rate. Ethereum - who knows, everything is possible in long-term. BTC will be always number one

Opinion alone, if Bitcoin experiences a bad day, then the new king is ethereum. Ethereum is very popular and many investors use ethereum blockchain as a supporter of their projects. Ethhereum's potential is very high, because demand in the market is always above average. This is the coin closest to bitcoin, besides ether I think I still have to work hard.

Bitcoin is really excellent cryptocurrency and rightfully takes first place. But Bitcoin is good in the form in which it exists now. All attempts to make it a payment environment for microtransactions are simply horrible and ruin it. Lightning network - crutches, through which they try to force Bitcoin to do what he should not do. Bitcoin is great for making large transactions and preserving value due to the reliability of the network. And for microtransactions, the altcoins are perfect.

Well it is not hard to guess that one of these shall be the kings of the market. These are some great coins which I am listing:TAU

In my opinion there isn't any coin right now which can change Bitcoin or Ethereum. So I think that it is not going to happen. Anyway there can be many good projects that can have a very high price , but they will never change ETH or BTC.
