This is because the majority of altcoins are shit at the moment. Out of over 3000, maybe only a few like 20 or so altcoins really make any headway in terms of staying true to their project plans.
That's right, it's been almost two years that a lot of projects have given birth to unlucky altcoin, thus affecting the confidence of the cryptocurrency world in the eyes of investors, and that too has also affected the success of many crypto projects.

The question is why do some people generalize all Altcoins as bad? considering there are over 3000 of them out there. One would not have the time to go through each project one by one. to analyze the project. team etc everything behind each crypto project.
There has to be some project out there under good intentions. Not all projects could be a scam. I admit I only have a top 4 i consider when it comes to best coins. But yet many should be decent at least honest projects out there. Afterall we do need more projects. more quality projects out there in order for crypto to succeed.

your thoughts

I don't consider all altcoins as bad, only majority of these altcoins are bad, and people perceived that way, because of the so many scam reports, so many millions of dollar wasted and the list is quite long and many more adding to the list, there is huge money to be made in the Cryptocurrency, but unfortunately these scammers wants to have a big slice of the cake.

No one has ever said ALL ALTCOINS are bad; no, anyone saying this is wrong. Isn't Ethereum an altcoin, isn't Stellar Lumens an altcoin too, even Binance Coin, aren't they among the top coins in the Coinmarketcap and proving to bring value as well.
I think what people might be trying to say is, a huge number of altcoins are bad, and if you visit most telegram groups you will see the truth even on exchanges, the truth is there for all to see. There are existing projects still standing strong and a few upcoming projects also trying to create a positive impact.
I have seen several people saying all altcoins are bad, those people are bitcoin maximalist. not only that, there is a people out there said cryptocurrency is a scam.
there is no right and wrong, it is all about our personal opinion. you have a different opinion with those people who do not believe in altcoin and cryptocurrency.

Many will say altcoins are bad and yes they are because we have too many bad altcoins in crypto space and people keep falling for them, altcoins always bring the biggest ROI but that is if the project is very promising enough
not all altcoins have a future like that, fewer potential altcoins, and we can analyze it before investing, because wrong investing in altcoin can result in your capital being depleted. but if you are good at choosing altcoin it will get a satisfactory return

It is clear that not all altcoins are bad. They just have such a reputation because most of them turned out to be scammers. But it is impossible to speak so categorically, interesting projects still continue to appear.
Most of them are made to deceive people and take advantage of them that is why I can't also blame those people for thinking that way because they have bad experiences that makes them hard to trust and keep their faith in altcoins again but we don't have to generalize it. Some of them are still worth the risk and beneficial, we just need to find out which one. It's a bit difficult these days because of scam issues but as long as you know the things that you need to do to find out which is the best one then it's a great advantage for you. They can't just expect people to keep on trusting it despite of scams regarding it because most of them becomes a victim too and I know that it is kind of hard for them to change their perception because of what they have experience.

I disagree. I think this is wrong, maybe those people misstated the meaning maybe erc20 token but they categorized it as altcoin even though it was clearly different. the fact that many cause problems and scams today is the project from erc20 tokens not from altcoin. precisely altcoin which has survived for a long time and still survives until now many are legit. different from the erc20 token project, profitable because of the hype at the beginning of the investment only, after that lost its volume and value (got dump sell).

"Not all projects could be scam". I totally agree but what is the percentage to which the projects are useful compared to scams..? If you check the stats then you will see that more than 95% of the coins are created just to scam people. Thats why its a general say, alts are bad.
In the unregulated market, we should accept this as normal. This system will continue as long as everyone can create a new token by paying the only 1WAVE. Also, look at marketcaps, not numbers, the value of the remaining 5% is many times higher than the other 95% scam.

I do agree with you that not all altcoins are bad. It is just that some people who had bad experience with one, generalize it all. They are just ranting over the forum for what had happened to them about a scam project of a certain altcoin. There are still good coins and good projects out there, we just need to be very careful on choosing them.

I have never read any post that says all altcoins are a scam. Just that some bitcoinist are just angry at the rate different altcoins hit the market for the selfish reason and for personal gain, sadly most of these projects gradually die a raid death because they have no idea on innovation, only were interested in customers fund. I have always wonder why won't ICO team up with already existing projects and better the ecosystem! instead, od launching what may never stand the test of time.

Some alternatives offer great solutions that Bitcoin doesn't such as Ethereum which offers smart contract technology and Tron that is popular for dApps without which a lot of interested projects could not develop apps and products for other purposes so they are essential to the cryptocurrency ecosystem

Not all altcoins are bad, the problem is many new projects are existing without purpose or use cases and just here like any other coins to accumulate money from investors.

Old well established coins has better offer to people and these coins can survive regardless of the status of the market its because they can solve real problem that people needed thats why they are supporting it.

Yes, there are many fraudulent projects on the market right now. And there was a feeling that there were no more good projects on the market. But don’t give up, you just need to look around a bit and understand that the cryptocurrency market is now in a very strange environment. Now you need to wait a bit when a serious period comes, and again very promising projects will appear on the market. And then almost every project will bring great success to users. And many will invest in different altcoins, where after some time these altcoins will bring excellent income.

Not all altcoins are bad and this days people are just too lazy to do proper research on projects to find out how good they are, if you don't seek for answers you will never know how good a coin is and you will miss out
Yes, not all coins that have been born are bad, because the good and bad of a coin can be known by examining it further,
so that we can judge whether a coin is good or bad.

they say altcoin is bad because there might be a bad experience from themselves and altcoin. Or they could indeed generalize from all the altcoin prices that went down so it was labeled as bad. It is only a matter of faith. It doesn't matter what other people say as long as you believe altcoin isn't as bad as they think. In the world of trading, the ups and downs of prices is not a big problem, what is certain is that we can follow it and read it or not.

To break the monopoly in the crypto market requires competition from various altcoins, maybe bad assumptions come because the dominance of altcoin fail / fraud comes more, not all are bad but they simply cannot develop more intensively, this forms the average assumption that finally applies in the overall mindset.

In the end the trader is also more alert and starts playing safely only with clearer coins.

That's some considerable thoughts out there! Indeed, majority of people didn't even do a quick research on a project, just call it scam because they didn't like it or didn't understand the idea. I keep an eye on XRP, EOS, and VEO, and boy, yeah, there are hiccups but they are rolling.

Nobody is saying "all altcoins are bad" but majority of altcoin projects are pointless to begin with. Imagine projects sprouting with the same aim, and the previous existing projects sometimes have better vision than new ones. If we are to follow an ideal altcoin system, newer projects ought to be revamped comparatively but that's mostly not the case.   I think there are too many projects sprouting, and most of them are mainly to make the team members rich and nothing more. The few projects with genuine interest get affected since investors are now very skeptical to invest in any altcoin, especially new altcoins. Not all altcoin projects are scam I admit, but to limit risk taking, atlesst 70% of my long term holding is in BTC.

I agree on this one. ICOs mostly have the same mission and vision when they are going to release a project in the market, including scam ICOs that are using sweet words in order to attract investors and make it look like a good one in the beginning, they are even copying others whitepaper and websites, so if you are going to pay attention in what you are doing, you're just going to screw up yourself.

We all have to be extra careful and be a good detective finding the holes in their project to expose their fake identity, to spread awareness to the public so that no one will ever get scam by those schemers.
