Honor Killing: Pakistani Man Guns Down Sister And Her Three Children Over Suspicions of Her “Moral Character”…






A man reportedly gunned down his sister and her three children in the name of honor in Sargodha.

The incident occurred overnight in Sargodha area of Model Town, where all four were killed with gunshots.

Police arrested Nazia Bibi’s brother Ghazanfar Abbas on suspicion and interrogated him. During interrogation, he confessed to killing her and her children.

The man said he was suspicious of his sister’s moral character.

Islamic Cleric Issues Fatwa Declaring Women Who Take Selfies Are “Unpure” And “Shameless”…






Felix Siauw, an Indonesian Islamic cleric with over 1.1 million Twitter followers, took to the social media site in order to declare that women who take selfies are “shameless” and “unpure.”

The 30-year-old Siauw describes himself on Twitter as a person who seeks “the establishment of sharia-caliphate” and is a “servant of Allah.”

He wrote on Twitter: “These days many Muslim women take selfies without shame. There are usually nine frames in one photo with facial poses that are just – My Goodness – where’s the purity in women?”

Saudi Arabia’s Proposal To Hold Gender-Segregated Olympic Games Shot Down By IOC…







Saudi Arabia has proposed holding a gender-segregated Olympic Games.

In comments made by Prince Fahad bin Jalawi al-Saud – a consultant to the Saudi Olympic Committee –it was suggested the country could bid jointly with Bahrain, which could host the women’s events.

“Our society can be very conservative. It has a hard time accepting that women can compete in sports,” the Prince told French website Francs Jeux.

“Wearing sports clothing in public is not really allowed. For these cultural reasons, it is difficult to bid for certain big international events.”

In recommendations for reform, published last November, the International Olympic Committee (IOC) opened the door to joint bids in 2020.

But it moved to quickly shoot down Saudi Arabia’s suggestion.

IOC President Thomas Bach released a statement explaining that Saudi Arabia would be denied the chance to bid, unless it complied with rules barring discrimination.

German Carnival Drops Charlie Hebdo-Inspired Float Over Fears It Could Provoke A Terror Attack…



A German carnival has dropped plans to build a “Charlie Hebdo” float with a cartoonist forcing a pencil into the barrel of a terrorist’s gun, after receiving messages from locals worried about safety if the float went on show.

Jitters about public displays of words or images that might anger some Muslims have risen in Europe since Islamist gunmen attacked the French satirical newspaper Charlie Hebdo and a Jewish supermarket in Paris on Jan. 7-9, killing 17 people.

Charlie Hebdo had long specialized in ridiculing Islam and other religions and vowed no change in approach after the attack, which prompted marches by millions of people throughout France in tribute to the journal and free expression in general.

Explaining its decision, the carnival committee in Cologne said they wanted to preserve the event’s lighthearted mood in the west German city and make sure no one felt afraid — even though they had been assured by police that displaying the figures would not pose a security risk.

“We want all visitors, locals and participants in Rose Monday’s carnival parade to freely experience a joyful carnival without any worries. We don’t want a satirical float, which weighs on the freedom and lighthearted mood of carnival,” the organizers said in a statement on Thursday.

Russian Actor Converts to Islam – Becomes Muslim Martyr for ISIS







For the past two days, Russian mainstream, Muslim, and social media have been abuzz with the news that a popular 31-year-old Russian actor has been reported killed fighting alongside IS militants in Syria.

According to the reports, Vadim Dorofeyev, who apparently converted to Islam in January 2014, left his wife and two small children without warning several months ago in order to go to Syria and join the Islamic State (IS) group.

Dorofeyev appeared in a handful of Russian films and TV series, including A Yakuza’s Daughter Never Cries, a 2010 comedy about the 10-year-old daughter of a Japanese Yakuza who gets lost in Russia. Dorofeyev’s last work, before leaving for Syria, was a part on 2014 TV detective series Balabol.

No details of Dorofeyev’s conversion to a radical form of Islam have been given, beyond that it appears to have happened in January 2014, several months before he left for Syria and that he apparently converted along with another actor, his friend Leonid Telezhinsky.

Russian news website Komsomolskaya Pravda reported on January 25 that Dorofeyev’s 24-year-old wife, Yelena, had raised the alarm about her husband’s sudden disappearance and said he was in Syria.

According to Komsomolskaya Pravda, Yelena sent a number of letters to TV stations asking for help.

In one undated message, according to Komsomolskaya Pravda, Yelena wrote that her husband had “been taken to Syria to the war.”

“I am writing to you out of despair. I never thought I would do this. I have gone to the police everywhere…to the Foreign Ministry…. I will tell you briefly. My husband, the actor Vadim Gennadevich Dorofeyev, got involved with very bad people, and as a result he converted to Islam in January 2014. Together with his friend Leonid Telezhinsky (he is also an actor) he tried to persuade me to convert to Islam and bring the children to Syria. His goal was a war for God…. Now I understand that they zombified him,” Komsomolskaya Pravda quoted Yelena as saying.

According to the message from Yelena, on September 16 Dorofeyev sent her a message to say he was out with friends. He later said his phone had poor reception. The next morning, Yelena said she got a message to say that Dorofeyev had “gone to Syria, if Allah wills it, forever.”

Only two weeks after Facebook chief Mark Zuckerberg made a show of support for freedom of speech following a terror attack by radical Muslims in France, Facebook began censoring images of Muhammad in Turkey–including the very Charlie Hebdo images Zuckerberg claimed to support.

On January 9, Zuckerberg posted a message under his own name, taking credit for standing up to demands that Facebook censor images of Muhammad.

“Facebook has always been a place where people across the world share their views and ideas,” Zuckerberg wrote. “We follow the laws in each country, but we never let one country or group of people dictate what people can share across the world.”

He ended his post with “#JeSuisCharlie,” a show of support for the murdered members of the French satirical newspaper Charlie Hebdo who lost their lives in an attack by radical Islamists on January 7.

A week later, Zuckerberg was still defending his condemnation of the attack on the French tabloid and pledged that he and Facebook would continue to offer “a service where you can speak freely without fear of violence.”

But now, only 18 days after his initial show of bravado, Zuckerberg and Facebook have agreed to censor images of Muhammad in Turkey. In fact, Facebook is even censoring the very images from Charlie Hebdo that sparked the terror attacks early this month, the very images Zuckerberg made to support his “#JeSuisCharlie” proclamation.

Still, despite talk of free speech and touting the creation of a service where people can “speak freely,” Facebook has joined with governments all across the world in censoring certain types of speech.

In fact, Facebook has agreed to help over a dozen countries censor content. The social media giant has worked with India, Turkey, Pakistan, Germany, Saudi Arabia, Russia, and a host of others to censor political and religious speech on its service.

It seems that Facebook’s interaction with the governments of the world are far more “nuanced” than its chief’s braggadocio.
