It's not really Islam or Muslim should be hated or blamed but because we all want to be safe is we generalized things just to make sure. Like for an example, there is bombing only in New York City but people will still not visit other parts USA because they feel it's not safe for now even it's only on New York.
Nowadays people are quite scared of the Muslims. You don't know who is a terrorist and who is innocent. The major problem is that the American authorities are not doing enough to filter out those with terrorist ideologies from the immigrant pool. For example, among those Syrian immigrants who were allowed to immigrate to the United States, less than 0.8% were non-Sunnis, although in Syria they are around 40% of the population.
