It's because ETH's price is quite stable, but i don't agree with those opinion,
Personally i think bitcoin will always maintain its position at the top,
another reason people think ETH can overcome bitcoin, its because BTC's price is not very stable when it's dropping, so people tend to invest in ETH.

I think it's because Ethereum is currently used by a lot of developers to create projects and raise funds from investors by making smart contracts from ETH and from that could trigger a rise in price Ethereum can even compete with bitcoin price.

I also consider such statements to be unfounded. The Etherium will never surpass Bitcoin. The etherium can only have better technology. And Bitcoin as was and remains the king of the market. Therefore, I am skeptical about such a statement.

The battle between them is so huge but their's always still the king among them and that is the bitcoin, and we cannot question that one since it is been sorrounded or shall we say that been adapted well by many people. And I wonder on how could the ETH surpass it while majority of the people always think the BTC logo when they think of cryptocurrency.

Ethereum to overcome Bitcoin? maybe in their dreams. As you see the Bitcoin value at this moment in which is now at $10,000 that it will be very impossible for any Altcoins to surpass it or even just to equal the value. This is because Bitcoin is the most popular coin in the globe in which if their are new investors will join Crypto investments, the first to think or will be in their mind is how to earn Bitcoin then the Altcoin will be their second option.

Etereum will definitely grow in price. However, there is a huge difference between ethereum and bitcoin, and therefore ethereum is unlikely to catch up with bitcoin in the near future. Ethereum will be able to reach the bitcoin track and, perhaps, replace it in leadership among the crypto currency..

I think this is because if we were to talk about the possibility of another coin overtaking bitcoin and if we were to vote a coin, it will be ethereum. The ethereum project have a lot of people and supporters behind it myself being one of them, although I do not think this is possible but if the subject were open, the only coin capable of it would be ethereum.

I don't think that ethereum can overcome bitcoin although the possibility is wide open, I think it still too far to compete with bitcoin. ethereum needs more time to replace bitcoin and as long as bitcoin still lead in the cryptocurrency and still be an adjustment for another coin, then ethereum don't have any chance to overcome bitcoin. besides that, people still use bitcoin as a king in the cryptocurrency and bitcoin still give a good chance to people to make more money from the cryptocurrency.

I guess because many people believe in ETH. Specially during ICO most of ICO can only be trade in ETH that's why I guess people says ETH will next to bitcoin. But I think if that will happen it would be a long time.

I think one of the key features of Ethereum that gives it a good chance or being in the same ball park as Bitcoin or maybe even higher is the fact that it is so enduring and reliable. If you remember those times when most altcoins are going down and the market is really going haywire; notice that Ethereum had no significant news of sharply dumping in value even then. That goes to show how strong Ethereum is, having the capacity to actually endure during those dire times. It's slow approach in gaining value proved to be helpful because it has been its secret as to why many users trust it as a cryptocurrency.

People view the close Market cap ETH has on BTC and the fact that its the second most popular crypto as possible reasons as why ETH will overcome BTC, this however will not be the case as Bitcoin is more independent as compared to ETH which has probably gained fame through the ICOs using its platform. I don't think ETH will overcome BTC as the top coin.

if you realize at this time very much ICO is made based on smart contract Ethereum certainly this could trigger Ethereum price increase because they will buy Ethereum to participate in ICO.
