As a bettor in sports betting, we tend to always choose the sports we know the best because I think any bettors will definitely not want to bet on such sports or games where they do not have any personal knowledge or know how about the game nor know the characteristics of the players or fighters. I mean, how can we increase our odds to win if we're just literally guessing the outcome.

That's right, even if you only have a little knowledge it can be a big risk of losing money and it is highly recommended for us bettors to place bets on sports that we really know. Here, I really like football and of course I would prefer to bet on football matches than other sports because I always follow the latest news from clubs, players, transfers or other small things. Maybe each individual's passion is different regarding the sport they like and that might be an additional income if you also place bets where you like.

In my case it's simple. I don't bet on sports that I don't watch and know very little about.
You can't expect people to bet on tennis or chess, when these aren't popular sports in their country. I'll give you an even better example. In Europe almost nobody watches or plays american football. I barely know the rules. They even call it football in there, but in Europe what Americans call soccer is called football and their football is called American football. Nobody here bets on US football teams because we don't watch nor follow it, but everybody knows how their national football team is doing.

Me too, I won't bet on sports I don't watch or have little interest in. For me betting on matches is one way for me to enjoy the game. And how can I enjoy a game when I'm not watching a particular sport? The atmosphere of the match that I got when I bet was really encouraging for me to watch the match to the end. Yes, even though I lost in the end, it wasn't a big problem for me, because even if I win, it's just an added bonus for me.

Yes there are professional gamblers but they do have other sources of income so they keep focusing on gambling even if they lose their entire balance they won't starve because of the other revenue streams.

Professional gamblers basically don't lose all of their bankrolls in one sitting or session since they know how to spread their bankroll in different sessions at different games so that they don't lose it all at once. And, even if they lose a lot of it, as you said, they have enough money to cover that up and play later again with a higher bankroll and maybe recover some of it.

Even they don't take gambling as the only way for them to earn money but they know how to manage their gambling activities and their bankroll to stay safe from losing everything at once which most gamblers can't do when they start losing they panic and start betting higher and lose even more.

Football, for example, which is a sport as well as a hobby, so betting on football has its own charm because it can play an analysis. If you look at the line-ups of the two teams, the chances are team A or team B.

That's a good point about unexpected injuries and changes in a game that can totally turn the odds upside down. In football, if a player is substituted due to a card maybe or an injury and the whole team is basically dependent on that single player, the team might lose the match only because of that one decision that the manager took to save the player from getting suspended maybe.

Having confidence is good as you said, but one should understand that even sports betting can be a game of luck sometimes, if you are unlucky, even if the team you have selected is the most favorite or one of the top ones, it will still lose against a least favorite team.

If I had to choose betting on a specific sport, I would favor football because this is the one that I enjoy most watching. Another reason could be that this is the sport I know more info about, but to be honest I don't think that this makes any difference when it comes to betting, so I'm not a big fan of believing in a false control over the chance I don't have.

Unless you have insider info (and this would suppose that the bet would be illegal), my advice is to bet just for fun, and don't believe that you have high chances to win because you know a lot about one specific sport or another.

When you have over five different sports books in your street and everyday you see young people going in and coming out betting on football you cannot just but come under peer pressure to follow the norm. Football is our thing and the sports books centers are filled up anytime there is an EPL, Championship or other games. We love the sport despite my country still performing terrible at it.

I'm starting to realize that you are an active gambler assuming you are losing money on sports bets placed. To be honest, it's hard to find a gamble that can provide big profits and hope for several wins and after that you will lose again, in the end we are still among the losers in gambling. But talking about gambling, football is a fairer bet in my opinion, because almost everyone likes this sport and even betting on football is easier to predict even though it's not always true.

I don't know how long they can survive with their best financial status if basically they can't control their income and expenses because of gambling. Such gamblers are bad, in fact I really believe they are problem gamblers in the end although some would consider them professional gamblers. So, if you find gamblers who fail to control their spending until their balance is empty, then rest assured they are problem gamblers even if they have other sources of income.

About specific sports betting, it really depends on what you are passionate about. If you love football, then you shouldn't bet on horse racing, it's because you may not have much knowledge about it. In essence, betting on your favorite sport is because you have special knowledge of the sport and you can make your predictions based on facts, not luck.

Having that confidence on something you are sure off isnt really that bad but on the time that you would really be coming into a point where overconfidence would kick in, then the situation didnt go as expected or planned then this is where huge disappointment and anger would really be able to felt just because you would really be having those main thoughts on mind that you had done the bad or wrong thing.
When it comes to sports betting then it would be always recommendable on betting on sports which you do know that you are really that capable or you do have the knowledge into it.

We do know that everything or anything could happen in a snap and this what makes even more interesting and this is the real essence of gambling or betting
which you would be able to felt up the thrill because you do know the game you are putting your bet on compared to those who are none.

Let us say, you are living and breathing that sports, and you still lose. Remember, there are some angles that you can't be in control of.
Just like you said, unknown injuries, last minute change of lineup of athletes, or new coach, or maybe weather can influence the outcome.
But of course, if you are familiar with the sports and athletes involved, you are more comfortable betting on that sports.

First, for cases where I can provide answers via private messages as I experienced, that I gamble not as a job and never think of it as an addiction, so when I decide to place bets only on gambling which I like. For example, like placing bets on football, playing poker or slot games, I do this in my free time and usually not routinely.

But actually I prefer to place bets on football, the reason is because my hobby is watching and I like to make predictions and besides football is the most popular sport in our area and many people place bets online and in traditional ways.
