Altcoins (if you choose good ones) is one of ways to make good profit. For ex., I bought NEO (previously ANT shares) for 0.8$ for 1 coin, now NEO price is 60+$.

there are many possibilities that people are holding. either they want to gain more income by simply holding their altcoin for a long time or maybe their coin maybe dumped and they wait until it pumps.

My reasons for holding altcoins are several.

1. I have purchased altcoins in recent ico and want to see how thye will perform once the bear market is over.
2. I have obtained some altcoins in the recent market dip or increased my holdings, I think they have a better chance of increasing by multiples than Bitcoin does in the near term.

It is about risk v reward ratios and I think altcoins offer higher reward chances.
