I think they are holding altcoins because they believe the price drops are still within normal limits, that is simply because market demand is declining due to the many selling actions. They still believe that the altcoin is still able to float later in the day.
Because they are sure that their alts will grow - and I understand them very well, many alts are way below their real price.
Because they believe in those alt coins... They are sure that value can be increased by 50x any time.. they have seen the records of alt coins in past...

There is only one main reason why we hold our altcoins, because we are waiting for the price to go up. I love altcoin but I also need to see that I am gaining profit because this is an investment.

I noticed the fact that people are greedy and do not sell coins at a high price. Then the coins depreciate. The coin does not need to be stored at all times. You need to have time to sell it at a high price. Most people can not do this.
It because they want to earn more by believing that coin will rise its value if they hold.

They holding altcoin because they want to have profit even more and they hold to avoid no gaining profit because of have dropping in the market. Holding is the good way to prevent huge damage when there's falling price like what i do when the there's dumping in the market to have huge profit when the market rise again.

In my opinion they invest in coins which solves actual problems, like LYMPO. My friends hodl this coin because they see the value in their gathered data, once lympo app will be developed, hodlers will pay gym membership with it.
Bitcoin gives x30 profit per year. Altcoins give x100-x130 per year. So holding altcoin gives more "x" per year. This is the main reason to keep altcoins

All people hold altcoins because at this point in time to sell them makes no sense. The price you are willing to pay for them is too small. All wait, when will begin to rise. Do they really love their altcoin?

Most times, people have diverse resonance for hodling Alts. These reasons spans from their love for the technology behind the project or they're simply bag holders. If its out of love for the project, such is a good hodl it if it's bag hodling, then it's always dumped once price target is reached.
It was easy to say. Holding their altcoins means they don't yet want to sell their altcoins because of the price, the want the price goes up even more. That was the simplest thing that I know why someone holding their altcoins.
