Of course, anyone can create something, call it a cryptocurrency, and try to get people to use it. The technical reason is that Bitcoin has inherent problems due to its design, and people feel they can improve on it. For example, Bitcoin transactions have high fees and can take a significant amount of time to process, so some altcoins are designed to have lower fees and faster processing times
Because they want to deceive not experienced people and thereby earn on this, without creating anything useful at the same time.
Maybe they think that it is easy way to get the money. But I saw a lot of useless coins. And I think soon they will be dead and o lot of people will lose their money.
Some of the people want to create something new. To make a faster coin or more invisible coin. And the other part wants just to gain some money. Some of them are scammers.
Probably because it is very profitable. Every day a lot of new projects are being created, half of which soon die. And maybe more than half.

Too easy way to earn. In practice, it turns out that the guys do not understand anything and only because of the open source they can create something too similar to the usual fraudulent project. Recently it has become fashionable to announce about yourself launching your project and creating a token! It's very similar to a PR company of celebrities who want to write their name in the history of the blockchain

The only purpose is to make money. Sometimes they do not know what pennies they create for what purpose, they just copy the ideas from other projects and promote the coins they create on the Crypto sites.
I am also surprised, why many developers are making new coins when of the many coins is using almost the same technology.
I think the coin would be great if a good coin was developed to become a better and better coin.

because they believe that they can help other people. However, other might think that they can earn money from this activity
There are few intentions for creating a coin. The most popular one is to scam people, basically take people`s money and stop the project at the specific sum. The other intention, more effective one, is actually make some service easier to access and use.
The main thing is that they are eager to make money on this, but they do not know much about the key principles of crypto. Therefore, they decide to make their own coins, most of these undertakings do not lead to success, because of which they supplement the list of unsuccessful projects.
People create their own coin out of necessity, the blockchain technology is useful and cut across other businesses/sector of the economy. Although this seems to be a recent trends, the more ideas that involves blockchain, the more ICO's thus more coins in the market.
