Well, it is quite simple. Some of them searching for faith, another part wants to scam people and gain money and only a few of them do really want to change the world and create something worth to invest, breakthrough in crypto space, like Vitalik buterin created Ethereum and so on
many use the fact that it's very easy to imagine a project and start moving it without any effort! but many companies do not have high-quality specialists
a couple of years ago, projects were created to solve certain tasks, introduce decentralization in some structure or sphere, or to simplify the life of network users. but now it seems more like a lottery. developers see only hard caps, do whitepapers for a copy and wait for credulous investors

There are so many coins, but many of them just a copy of anothers. Why they waste their time for nothing? 
New coins are most often created in order to manipulate their price and earn on it, the fact is that the less market capitalization, the easier it is to raise the value of such a coin, but there are exceptions to it, these are coins that carry a new technology.
Some people are trying to earn quick money and close projects after ICOs

I think they create their own coins to deceive people. Launched, on sold and disappeared. Someone just wants to show that he has a coin. Someone wants to make money on this, but I do not think that many people want to share the wealth with others))
Many people try to create their own coins because most of them are simply trying their luck out. That is why there are so many altcoins right now. That is also the reason why there are so many ICO and airdrops being offered in the market today. Many of them lack the innovation and solid foundations that are much necessary in the success of any crypto project. That is also why people are saying that there are just too many scams in the crypto market today.
Every person want to create his own identity and also want to earn more profits. Everyone want to become richest person so they want to have monopoly power on the coin.
Everyone is motivated by the desire to make money at any cost, there will always be those who invest in such coins.
Some people are making coins only to earn money. Very few people are making it to run their business and to increase the marketing. Other coins are also being made with the technology of ethereum. Many people prepare ico after making their coins. They collect money and then sell them and run away.
People create coins for so many reasons. There are those who wants their idea materialize but do not have funding to put the idea into reality.
Others create coins to build their identity and take the chance to be known like Satoshi Nakamoto.

There is no definite answer to this IMO, because some have genuie reason for this because their platform truly need it, but some want to scam people, they want to become a developer overnight with no real usage for their tokens, that is why it is very import to always check the history of these developers
Probably because they want to get more profit, and they want to make an interesting experience by making their own coin in cryptocurrency is a separate achievement if we can create your own coin.
they want to take advantage of opportunities the crypto gets bigger with the purpose to get great results for themselves. Despite their great idea, however, need experience and hard work if you want the coins they can succeed. and of course, this is not an easy thing to do especially if only limited knowledge capitalization.
A team commonly try to make their progress by creating the new crypto. However, some of them are similar to other concepts. It is true that newer concept may be able to attract the investors and participant to join in the crypto project. In this case, we must know the best concept for crypto to be acceptable and it may be exactly valuable by creating a new concept of the project with the ready product.
Everything rests on money. The creators want to make money. The question is in another, in an honest way or not. Every day more scam projects. Very few creators who really are for an idea, the real development of their project and coins
Some of them are noobs to this industry and does not aware much of Cryptocurrency and coin they think anyone can make and run the coin and earn good money with it so in the greed of making money they create coin and most of them just fail. Create your coin is not so difficult, but people do not understand that this is a very difficult job that requires time and money. It's not that simple today.
I believe the major reason genuine project try to create their own coin is to enable them to fund their project, but the bad eggs just want a channel to rip people off their money.
They decide on this in order to raise funds for the development of their projects. To do this, create their own coins and initiatives to attract and retain the attention of investors who purchase coins in anticipation of their appreciation.
