Unfortunately, the number of scam coins is increasingday by day. I think there is not much people who really care about the blockchain technology, and I think this is very bad for the future of cryptocurrencies. I hope this situation will change in a near future.

I see a lot of developers who make their own coin as opportunists because they create the coin for money and most of them are into crypto to gather some money and abandon the project. So the major reason for developing a coin is to get some money from it. That's my opinion.

For some reason I thought that the majority of cryptocurrencies in the market exist only as an asset of the company. And they're kind of disposable. The company raised funds, launched a project, investors exchanged their income and all together forgot about the coin and look at ordinary business.

The always and only reason is the root of all evil which is money. Some people got serious and frustrated in ICO and invested time and efforts in doing bounty campaign projects just to create their own coins to have money fast.

We know how Bitcoin or other giant coins inspire many people. And the chance to get a big profit is to buy ico.
People are sniffing there is a chance of a huge community passion. Some use shortcuts just for profit.

Mainly because they believe that they can implement a similar solution, but better. They either tweak some features, go towards different markets, or have different partners - in the end, the ones that appear to "copy" the coin are capable of carving their own niche even with minuscule changes.

Its not a waste of time or energy. ICO is great method of fund raising. Usually ICO is launche to develop certain project. It also brings huge opportunities for entrepreneurs. They are rising their funds to accomplish their desire projects while developing cryptocurrency for the investors. Its a win win situation. And most of the altcoins have come through ICO. So there is nothing waste of time or energy in making new tokens.

What you mean 'they waste their time for nothing?' Although most of the coins in the market right now is just a copy of one another, but you can't say it that way. I think they created that coins for one purpose only : 'money'. Most ICOs raised over millions of dollars although in my opinion those coins are just a mere copy as well. But well, they are clearly not wasting their time. They are making money.

Those who create coins or tokens have their reasons for that that. There are some project team that create coins for genuine reasons. These set of people always back their project up with good product. A project with a good product will surely have a good coin. On the other hand, some projects team are just about making money and not creating value.

If they have interesting and different concepts and ideas, why not? because ICO is also popular and I think there is no harm in taking the opportunity as long as it does not end in fraud. I think besides wanting to make a profit, they also need to channel their creative ideas.

I think they create their own coins cause of money, they create project and used coins of their project so they can earn more, if the investor used their coin. Some of them legit but others scam so be careful to buy new coins.
