Why use bitcoin, bitcoin is being used a lot, and I believe bitcoin will be recognized as the international currency used to trade for goods in the future. 
Right now bitcoin can use in transaction and buying online as a payment. And if bitcoin recognize in many country maybe it will be the first international digital currency.

People use bitcoins because we are now in a digitized world where a lot of things are now done online. People use bitcoins too because they like the conveniemce they get with certain transactions like money transfers abroad plus the fact that it is definitely cheaper to do so in this process. I think people use bitcoins too because it is less, if not, governed by any financial institution. For me I use bitcoin because of its potential; because I see it as an investment which can ultimately bring good fortune in the future. Risks are there like any other investments but with how I see bitcoin, I think this one is the current trend and is here to stay.

There are some people who give the reason that they use bitcoin as one of their choices to invest because when compared with the price of gold now bitcoin price is more promising. First two points you gave are probably the best reasons to be using btc. It gives people freedom and securoty that is on a better level.than banks give. Of course that's aside from it's ever imcreasing value that probably.made a lot of people rich in a span of a few months.

If we use bitcoins as a consumer grade money, everybody will not be as satisfied with using bitcoins as money because of how much it costs. It would be a huge waste in my opinion, to use it on a daily basis because of its continuous price increase. I'd rather use it for investments instead.
