It makes no logical sense to sell an altcoin right at the very bottom of a market cycle.  Look I know its very painful to see that altcoin you love some much cause you so much grief, and not to mention checking your altcoin account balance looks like a scene from a horror movie.  But I am here to tell you, to hold strong, keep the faith and ride this altcoin storm as we are about to hit a very sweet spot in the market cycle where altcoins will explode in value.  Almost every altcoin is extremely oversold when comparing it to previous altcoin ATH (all time highs) and not to mention when comparing it to the bitcoin rally of late.

ATTENTION: We are about to enter altcoin season right at the very bottom, there will be some explosive move coming....Please hold firm.
Much love to all altcoin holders (especially those that hold HST decision token)

Stay safe, and see you all at the very top of the next altcoin season.

Peace out Cheesy
It is true that you say it makes no sense to sell altcoins when prices are weakening, but I think everyone who sells their altocin when prices are weak has their own reasons, maybe they panic or maybe they think the altcoin doesn't have the potential to provide profits in short term or they are experiencing financial problems so they decide to sell it. It is true that you say to stay and wait for the right moment to sell it when the market explodes. But, anything can happen later, we can only estimate it.

Yes, you're right it makes no sense of selling altcoins in the bottom. Those who have knowledge about the crypto world then they will never do that, I think they sell their altcoins in panic. Now it is the time of IEO's not ICO'S where lots of scam projects are launched. Recently many trustable IEO'S have launched like Moozicore, Bitpanda, swace etc https://tokensale.moozicore.com/

Did anyone checked the post history of the OP?

He registered to this forum around one month back, and since then he has created 29 different threads (in different sub-forums) to spam about a little known shitcoin (HST Token). I am surprised that none of the moderators have noticed his spamming until now. And even surprisingly, many of his threads have received hundreds of replies.

From what I have seen during the last three years, in case the exchange rate for an altcoin goes down by 80% or more, then the chances are that it will never recover and within the next two-three months the trading will cease and the coin will die out. So even if the coin is down by quite a bit, it is always better to book the losses and make the exit.

This comes as a result of many factors, personally I sold of some alts due to emotions but in reality when you realised that the project is dead you just have to sell off and move on, a typical example is STQ, very promising than I ever taugh but currently as dead as a dead stone, will you continue to hold, I betyou, a no is the answer

Everyone has their own reason why they sell coins or tokens on its lowest price. I know it looks foolish or unreasonable to us but we need to take considerations of these people. But if it will really affect us then we need to educate them so that they will have guidance on making such decisions.

To those who hodl their tokens and waiting for the altcoin season, just hope for the best. We really don't know what happnes next.
You are right. Everyone must have their own reasons why they choose to sell their altcoins at unfavourable prices. Suppose there is a sudden need, or avoid a deeper price decline. Analysis and mentality are very necessary to determine the choice of selling or holding, everything is at risk, so never invest more than you can afford to lose.

Some dont know how to read chart and if alts is going more down without reading a chart or know where it could stop warrant a sell to prevent the loss and in short time it bounce back up for more profit which also create fomo for most trader and end up losing every thing so patient is key and holding for long will be a better option if you dont know when or how to read a chart.

I advice to always invest in big project that will not be seen out of market anytime soon .

The most reason why we sell that coin is that we cannot wait for more and we want the money for urgent situations. I already have this experience in the past, and that makes me sell some amount of coin to get the money, and I can withdraw my btc to fiat. But if that is because of we panic to see the price, then I think that it's not a wise decision because the coin price can increase in anytime and we can miss the chance to sell back the coin at a high price.

Every investor may have their own personal reasons for selling a coin. And for an investor to sell a coin at the bottom may either mean that the investor has lost hope in that coin and is selling to cut losses or the investor does not have adequate information about the capabilities of that particular coin. Although not all cryptocurrencies are capable of becoming successful, hence it is up to the investor to research and come up with good reasons to either hold or sell irrespective of how low the coin may have dropped.

Usually, people sell violas because of impatience, someone just took it two months ago and sold everything, and someone waited for today and got some kind of profit, everything is arranged, the one who is stronger and more patient, wins.

When an altcoin is at the bottom; an investor is at a crossroad
Because there are 2 following situations

1. It’s either the projects get delisted and dies off
2. Or it survives the dump

Most projects do not survive; which is why selling off is considered by most trader

And from the looks of it, the HST token that the OP is talking about, more than likely, situation # 1 is coming for this coin. I'm not a follower of this token but just looking at the charts,  it has a steady decline of price. So I don't know, if it will increase its price miraculously. Those who survive the dump are those with solid foundation with real application in the market. And the team is still visible in their respective developments. So is HST in continuous development?

Personally i don’t prefer to sell any altcoin at the bottom. Panic is the most common reason for those people who is selling at the low price. But still i think the rest of people must have their own reasons to sell it from the worse price, like urgent needs etc..

A significant part of cryptocurrency users who work on bitcointalk, refer to cryptocurrency as the main source of income.  On this basis, we can assume the real reasons for the sale.  Although some coin owners, who have not yet shown their potential, are trying to redirect their funds to more profitable coins.

I do not understand those who sell their Altcoins when they are at the bottom. What is the point? They work in the bounty companies whole month and then they sell their tokens for $ 10 but in fact their cost is $ 1000. This is done by either silly people or schoolchildren.

Now of course not the time to sell their Altcoins, because in the coming months they can grow several times! Although some will not grow ever. you need to analyze everything in great detail!

If you are holding a token with potentials, then it is wrong to sell at the bottom, also I think people sell off because they get emotional for fear of more dip. Also when they feel a token has no worth or use case they dump at any price.

If you are in bad need and you are left with no other resources but your altcoins, you might be selling them even with a loss for lack of choice. Or perhaps if you are in an emergency situation and there is no one you can borrow money from, you might also be forced to sell your precious altcoins even if their prices are at the bottom. But you will certainly exhaust all means before resorting to this decision.
You are right. I have been in such difficult times, so I have been forced to cut losses and sell most of the altcoins at low prices to make ends meet. If there are other options, of course, I would prefer to hold the altcoin.
In other cases, for example, a token from a bounty, I choose to hold it for a while analyzing the market, if possible then I will wait until the price goes up, at least until it approaches the price of ico or ieo.
