every thing is possible in this world. may be bitocin replace by another cryopto currency. but I think it is very difficult. my personal view is that bitcoin will merge other crypto currencies because the position of bitcoin is too strong.

Bitcoin has been losing market cap domination consistently over time, in latest months such loss increased.

If it continues like this it will lose its dominance in few years.

In that latest months you stated still it has been keeping up.

I see no reason just because of that, bitcoin will lose it's dominance.

If ever that will happen, other crypto lossing their respective marketcap too so still bitcoin has the lead.

Does it make sense to believe that Bitcoin could one day be replaced by another cryptocurrency, that is, a cryptocurrency that really does make Bitcoin obsolete?
Bitcoin has a lot of market shares in this moment, it is unlikely that another cryptocurrency can take it place, since Bitcoin is the first cryptocurrency.
But, if an interesting cryptocurrency is launched, for example, with no transaction fees, it can be possible.

Daddy is Daddy, and no one can replace it in future, as I don't think that there will any crypto that can hold multiple features that bitcoin is holding, and I think bitcoin will always be on top.
We can't really say though because eventhough bitcoin is the godfather of all coins there might be a new coin that will be better for bitcoin because of it's technical behavior.

It is not impossible but it looks hard. Bitcoin is a pioneer in crypto currency and usually pioneers really last long. However, bitcoin will be available till 2023 only.

So it is very much possible that people will start mining another crypto currency after the bitcoin reserve is depleted. This way bitcoin can be replaced from mining. But I see no reason that bitcoin will be out of the market even after being depleted from mining core. It is possible that bitcoin will touch to an enormous height after 2023.

Off course cant bitcoin be replaced by other cryptocurrencies and that is only because the bitcoin has replaced in some ways other
cryptocurrencies so the new one is already bitcoin dont think there will come another new one.

What it would happend if is developed a new Bitcoin with a consensus model different to PoW, PoS like Ethereum? That mean the fees would be cheaper so that will be the end of current Bitcoin, or not?

For sure it makes sense. Trading to forms of money that represent value so that you don't need to bring your chicken to swap for that piece iron, to the point of money actually just representing the time spent making that money for the worker, and when he spends it representing the value to the person receiving it.. If that makes any sense.. but one day paper money will be obsolete for sure. In 100years + who knows, the paradigm shift humans underwent through time getting there probably figured out automation is best. At some point everyone will have everything they need for free. I mean the robots will do it for us. We will just be living of the "automatic" land.. Until skynet happens and we go back to the stone age  Grin

I think it will not happen, Bitcoin is the mother of all cryptocurrencies. Bitcoin is the top ranked crypto currency,  and lite coin is the second. But litecoin is too far from bitcoin. So i think it couldnt replace bitcoins
Mee to think this cannot be happen...Bitcoin is way ahead of any other crypto-currecy in the market...the value of every crypto currency is valued in terms of satoshi..so bitcoin cannot be replaced..ethereum i think promised a lot and thought it will be good competitor of bitcoin..but its way behind right now

Yes it could be possible, Bitcoin can become famous because more and more people used it and the price is good, and there are a lot of developer interested in develop the coin further, that is the reason why bitcoin still survive until now, if people stop to used it then bitcoin will become obsolete and i am sure it will be replaced by other cryptocurrency

It is not impossible for another crypto-currency to replace bitcoin. Everyday we see a new altcoin popping, but at the same time we see also see a lot fade into obscurity. I would love to see another currency that would challenge bitcoin, so the developers would not stop with the further development of bitcoin.

It won't be replaced in terms of price but it will has another crypto on side with also has interesting price.

Besides it's not profitable if we have only a single crypto with decent price. It must be accompanied by other crypto for more profit taking.

The big problem of Bitcoin is the PoW, is unsustainable. If change it, maybe could maintain more time.
Ethereum now and others than are comming will finish with bitcoin in few years (not more than 3)

Perhaps, but this is unlikely, because the Bitcoin is the first cryptocurrency, and has large market shares.
But it maybe that in the future a cryptocurrency without transaction fees or other replaces Bitcoin.

True, because cryptocurrency is the largest of the bitcoin and has a much larger market than cryptocurrency else. And this will be dear to the one it is not possible that there is a cryptocurrency that replaces the Bitcoin with almost the same structure. Except that in the future there is a cryptocurrency that is far better and far superior bitcoin it will then it is entirely possible

You can think again, Does bitcoin replaced by another cryptocurrency. Maybe you already know the answer.  One main reason bitcoin is a mother of another cryptocurrency it's difficult to replace it for now . but nothing is impossible.
Well I think it will be possible only if bitcoin is on archive. Beside bitcoin, it's impossible to replaced by another cryptocurrency. Others cryptocurrencies just may come closer to bitcoin but not replace bitcoin for sure. You know till now all cryptocurrencies very far away from bitcoin.

Bitcoin have better chance to rule over all currency's fiat too. Hope soon we can see that bitcoin will be as the king of  all currency's.

I'm not sure, but many people here say that no cryptocurrency will replace bitcoin. in the other hand, technology is developing, and there will be smart and creative people in the future, iA. so it's possible that there will be more technologies, but I'm not sure it will be better than bitcoin or not

I strongly believe that there is that possibility. For now, Ethereum could be the one crypto who can be able to dethrone Bitcoin. Bitcoin has a lot of limitations, so it is pretty possible that the crypto who presents technical enhancements could become the bitcoin killer!
Nah. At this point there is no crypto currency that has enough potential to replace or overtake Bitcoin.

Bitcoin does exactly that what a lot people want. It offers us a currency tool, investment tool, store of wealth, and so on.

Altcoins with all their "great" and "better" features according to some people, don't add anything seriously usable for the big public.

I see altcoin features as gimmicks. It's cool these features are here but no one really use them.
You're 100% right. At this point there are no viable alternatives to Bitcoin, and those that exist don't meet the proper criteria when it comes to being able to take over something like Bitcoin. The largest other altcoin right now is Ethereum, with a market cap of $1b compared to Bitcoin's $10b. People will always claim something is better than Bitcoin because of this or that, but they're exactly as you say; just gimmicks.
