I think people like to spend lots of money on these new defi projects on these platforms and thats a big plus for Ethereum. Spending 40-50 bucks on a transaction is a huge money maker. So in actuality Ada or Cardano might take over Ethereum one day but probably not anytime soon plus Ethereum is way more established than Ada/Cardano at this point in time so in my opinion Ethereum is the clear favorite.
ETH is already working on POS algorithm so it is too early to say one will be better now until they both finally integrate all the system they want to integrate after which we can now put them side by side. But I believe no blockchain will beat ethereum after POS has been fully implemented
From the past there were also those who compared BNB and ETH and predicted that they would be able to overthrow ETH, but in fact BNB is still far behind ETH, as well as ADA today, let alone overthrowing ETH to overthrow BNB is very difficult actually, but who knows if investors start invest more in ADA than in ETH going forward
I think most people just like the comparison regardless of its use, now let's just make sure that ethereum is an altcoin that cannot be replaced by any altcoin because ethereum has many uses with its decentralization.
Cardano is, of course, a very popular cryptocurrency and I have been using Cardano's technologies and capabilities already long time, and recently big players have begun to invest a lot in Cardano and this is good sign for those who have invested in Cardano long time ago, but in general I don't think that Cardano will be able to catch up or overtake Ethereum, so far I think that only BNB can somehow catch up with Ethereum, and still I hardly believe in it, but Cardano has no chance at all, so in the coming years Ethereum will still be the king of altcoins.

I agree to others opinion, in order to defeat Ethereum. Cardano must perform so well to the point passing the popularity, adoption, and partnership of Ethereum before ADA overpower ETH.

Moving back years ago, Wave also was there to compete but still ETH managed to continue developing
and gained more support from many developers, still far from any possibilities that ADA will able to surpassed
what ETH already achieved, by the way you mentioned BSC which is the closes competitor but also have a huge
gap in between.
I think your statement is very unlikely to happen. There's no way Cardano will be a competitor to Ethereum let alone a killer for Ethereum, this just doesn't make sense. ethereum is an altcoin that has great potential and is a very versatile altcoin.
Cardano overthrowing ethereum has been in this space for discussion and I wonder if this topic will help in the development of both coin. I think when we highlights the pros and cons of these coin, we should be able to know which one will be useful than the other. In the light of high fee on ethereum network, cardano may be a solution for lower fee and less energy consumption for mining transactions!

I don't think this will happen, for this you need to have a recognizable brand. Why do you think BSC has become popular? There are a lot of projects on the market that can be like BSC or even better, but for some reason BSC has become popular. The whole cryptocurrency world knows about binance and not only, but few people know about Cardano.
BSC is popular because of the support from its own market, namely Binance and the Binance exchange was also popular before BSC was born by them, so this is a very natural thing, so it is clearly different from Cardano which does not have the support of any exchange, even though Cardano is already on board many exchanges at the moment.

I'm not sure anyone can overtake ethereum in terms of marketcap. Cardano is one of my favorites, but I'm not sure Cardano can overtake ETH and I'm sure that when ETH 2.0 releases the results will be pretty amazing and could see Ethereum's price surge more than 2 times in short time.
Hard to conclude since both are good projects but with the developments and success it's still far from
being made, ETH are way far from ADA since a lots of supproters who continue to backup ETH and with
the incoming updates, where most of are expecting for much cheaper fees. Surpassing ETH would be
a tough task to every alts that are competing around.
Cardano been ada coin has the momentum to move, but it moving gradually process, at my initial time, Ada was looking like a stable coin, no increase in price. But currently, Bull run has making the market on green point.
Some other coins also claim like this. Like we ever faced about NEO, EOS, BNB that also claim to replace Ethereum. But now it seems so difficult. Except for the BNB. Binance smart chain itself can be a serious and also hard competitor for Etehreum moreover right now. there are many more cryptocurrencies that use the erc20 platform.

I believe it is impossible, at least Cardano can only overthrow BNB, because in my opinion it is very difficult to overthrow Ethereum, so that until whenever Ethereum will remain the king of all altcoin and ranked 2nd on coinmarketcap, so there will not be any altcoin that can overthrow Ethereum including Cardano, because Ethereum is more popular than any altcoin at this time.
Even Cardano show a very promising bull market run this cycle, I don't think that it can overthrow ethereum knowing that ethereum is more establish that cardano and many people are much familiar with ETH than ADA.
yes, that's a very true statement in my opinion. If you think about it, it is highly unlikely that Cardano will become a competitor to Ethereum, let alone overthrow it. it would be funny if that happened
