Dogecoin is an inflationary coin. While it may have a stable price and be very useful in micro-transaction, it is unlikely to attract speculative investors. So the price is not likely to take off.

That can be a good problem for DogeCoin. This coin can be packaged as a coin just to have some fun and can work in the long run. The fact that there are no updates and activities related to this coin can tell us that there is no good community built behind this coin and that is something we don't like. Having a community backing and working for any coin counts a lot. I am hoping that soon developers of this coin would be seriously working to make it another serious digital currency that can stand and compete with the rest.

Highly inflationary even. But hoovering on a stable satoshilevel for monthes, so these two effects ballance out each other: adoption vs. mining.
The current lack of a devteam itches me too, if comparing with litecoin. Still stuffing all scrypt coins into the same bag here.
It was hovering against USD as Bitcoin was rising. That doesn't make it a good alt to invest in though, even if it is better than some others that tank whenever Bitcoin goes up.
Maybe the rise yesterday was it, each pump is smaller than the last, as it should be with an inflationary coin.

I mean, at the end of the day, it is a coin based on a meme of a dog with bad English, it probably won't stay the course long term.

I think the doge would have a better future.
I also like dogecoin, I often use a mining and trading dogecoin and that makes me very love with this coin is the price is very cheap and has a stable rate

Agree with you, mate. If we put ourselves together as a community, we could help Dogecoin reach new heights, even if there's no development or innovation for it. The recent price increase for Dogecoin has been quite profitable for those who have held onto their coins for a long time. I hope that it could decrease in price a little, just to grab a few cheap coins. But other than that, Dogecoin is still cheap and serves as a great way to tip others at a fraction of the price.

Nevertheless, it would be quite interesting to see how much a Dogecoin would be worth in a couple of years from now. Just my opinion.  Smiley

I have done some researches and I can say it will rise in the future

care to share?

Well it seems to have had a bit of a pump today - it's up about 23%.

That has been pointed out at 3/24/2017 when the dog made a first small leap from 23 satoshis. Would tell from today's jump: Pump is on

Inflation is something we consider to be bad for a coin as there are ways in cryptoworld to avoid it. Nevetheless, the real money we all use most of our time is all inflationary and we seem to be okay with it. What is really good about doge is that it can not face a fork problem. And this is what may make it popular in the future in case bitcoin and ethereum suffer from a hard fork.
Oh, and you were saying that doge price is not likely to grow much but it is growing as we are talking. Almost +50% for the past 24 hours.

For more than 3 years I know about Bitcoin, Dogecoin is keep on 10-100 satoshi phase and never pass it yet.
There are a speculation Dogecoin had been dead for a long time ago because that price, regardless of the market cap.

Price is far from being the sole factor in determining the value of a crypto currency. Doge has been around for a long time despite being labeled dead and abandoned. Doge has also transferred its spirit into real world practical uses, funding charitable causes as recently as 2016. What other alt has had that sort of impact, positive or negative?

Long live Doge!

Good to see that since I sold out the price has doubled!
It still hasn't pumped, it is back to a reasonable price though.

As each coin on Poloniex seems to pump one after another at the moment, it does appear possible that Doge will pump too, but I am not keen on getting back in at double my sell price!
Just when I thought I am ready to give up on Dogecoin, suddenly the price jump to 30% more I'm glad I accumulated enough to make a small profit, but I will continue  to hold a big numbers I'm looking forward for doge to reach 50 satoshis I know it's possible.

I am not sure if there will be a bright future for dogecoin. It has so many coins that prices like 500 satoshi are not very realistic.
You really cannot come to a conclusion when it comes to any coin and with time you might see a good rally and you will never know unless there is some interest in the coin and till then make the most out of the coin with the pumps we have so that you could make a good profit from it.

I was thinking that dogecoin was dead and nobody is using it but when I checked the stats of dogecoin then it seems that it is being used pretty good from people, trading volume on poloniex is 900BTC+

While writing this post the trading volume in the last 24h has been increased for 200BTC+ which I think is a good recover for the DOGE which I though it became deadcoin.
The trading volume usually goes up during a pump/hype. https://coinmarketcap.com/ shows $2,307,360   Volume (24h), but I can't see how that compares to for example a month ago.

I've noticed many altcoins "suddenly" go up a lot, I'm not sure why.
Doge has a history of going up once in a while, and crashing again later. In my previous post in this thread (a few weeks ago) I mentioned Dogecoin is quite stable if you measure it in dollars. Since then, it more than doubled in value, proving me wrong.

Dogecoin has been my favorite alt coin for quite a long time. It serves as a good cryptocurrency for tipping others, as well as being a fun and inexpensive medium of exchange.

However, I'm worried what might happen to Dogecoin in the future, since it has been quite some time that no new version of the QT wallet has been mentioned, neither some innovation to keep it going for the long term.

It would become ideal for Dogecoin to add SegWit to its code, and gain traction if it gains acceptance from the miners. Then, if it manages to become the first cryptocurrency to accept the scalable solution, it could rise in popularity once more (not to mention that transaction will be near instantaneous).

Nevertheless, Dogecoin is a great cryptocurrency being inexpensive and relatively stable, making it a great way to tip others or send micropayments faster than BTC at a fraction of the cost.

Looking forward to your opinion. Wink

Dogecoin know that it is dead so now the only solution is to suck it off Etehreum, how sad.
Once big crypto mentioned as third popular altcoin behind Bitcoin and Litecoin will end up as flunkey of Etehreum.
Good luck to this project, maybe its devs will actually manage to rise Doge from the dead (just like SegWit for LTC is working right now)

i think dogecoin have a future, and we can see in the market yesterday, there is a movement from dogecoin and we can see that the price is increase from the bottom into high price but i think its not just in that price, soon the price will reach more higher. there are many people stock their dogecoin and waiting for the good price so they can sell it to make big profit.

Price Doge will go to 0...10 and now just a local rebound

i hope you can see in poloniex that doge is start to wake up and increase the price. i see that many people is not believe that dogecoin will gets up like other coins but yes i am agree that this will need time before we can see its happen. i am still waiting for higher price for dogecoin and i think dogecoin can reach that price like before.

I noticed a while back that because it is such a fun little coin, people are happy to tip with it. Which means they'll be happy to spend it too, if online wallets allowed them to.

Yes. The Dogecoin is so much fun to use. You can buy them, sell them, and use it to tip others without losing anything due to its inexpensive prices. While it has so many unique characteristics, it lacks dev support, and innovation.

Speaking of online wallets, there is one from Dogecoin's official block explorer. It is pretty convenient if you tell me, and you can find it here: https://dogechain.info

I sometimes wish that new and exciting stuff would come up for Dogecoin, to encourage me to spend some more. It will all depend on the users who support the cryptocurrency. Just sharing my thoughts. Smiley

Actually, the steadiness of Doge's dollar value is what makes it a really useful coin. You can use it to move money from exchange to exchange without really losing through fluctuations of price.

Having a steady value means it is more likely to be used as a currency than as an asset. If more online retailers accepted doge, I think it would be used more than bitcoin (people tend to hoard bitcoins).

True. That is why I think that Dogecoin might become more useful for everyday payments than Bitcoin itself. Having the convenience of speed and price stability, would help the cryptocurrency become used in the mainstream world.
