I am not a fan of Dogecoin as many of you guys, of other altcoins as well. If to look on the information of how Dogecoin was created (from a dog's mem). I doubt that something like that, what was created just for fun, can have some big perspectives for the future.

Actually, the steadiness of Doge's dollar value is what makes it a really useful coin. You can use it to move money from exchange to exchange without really losing through fluctuations of price.

Having a steady value means it is more likely to be used as a currency than as an asset. If more online retailers accepted doge, I think it would be used more than bitcoin (people tend to hoard bitcoins).

True. That is why I think that Dogecoin might become more useful for everyday payments than Bitcoin itself. Having the convenience of speed and price stability, would help the cryptocurrency become used in the mainstream world.

I can't imagine that one day, Dogecoin might become accepted at local shops and retailers, making cryptocurrencies mainstream. Because of Dogecoin's strong support from its community, and usability, I think that the DOGE will never die.

It serves as a great tool to teach others about cryptocurrencies, as well as, tipping others, and more. Just my opinion.  Grin

I am not sure if there will be a bright future for dogecoin. It has so many coins that prices like 500 satoshi are not very realistic.

i think dogecoin have a future, and we can see in the market yesterday, there is a movement from dogecoin and we can see that the price is increase from the bottom into high price but i think its not just in that price, soon the price will reach more higher. there are many people stock their dogecoin and waiting for the good price so they can sell it to make big profit.

Price Doge will go to 0...10 and now just a local rebound

Well it seems to have had a bit of a pump today - it's up about 23%.

Yeah. Sometimes Dogecoin has this sorts of pumps, and while being little, it is a great way to make some profit if you take advantage of the price movements. Still, the Dogecoin has remained between the $0.000230 mark and I think that it will be that way for a long time (due to this high inflation). Perhaps, if someday Dogecoin could experience a reduction in total supply, it would make it a much more valuable altcoin.

In the meantime, it would be just to make use out of Dogecoin, as well as keep it alive by supporting it with full nodes, and other means. I have hope in this exciting altcoin, saving a little DOGE each day on a paper wallet for future use.

Nevertheless, in my eyes, Dogecoin will always be one of the best altcoins for daily use. Just my thoughts.  Grin

Exactly, sounds a bit like what Ripple wants to be for fiat money. I am curious about if and how Dogecoin will be affected if Pepecash gets more and more attention.

I think DOGE will always have a future, it's a fan favorite but at some point it will need to move forward with some kind of advancement.

Dogecoin has been my favorite alt coin for quite a long time. It serves as a good cryptocurrency for tipping others, as well as being a fun and inexpensive medium of exchange.

However, I'm worried what might happen to Dogecoin in the future, since it has been quite some time that no new version of the QT wallet has been mentioned, neither some innovation to keep it going for the long term.

It would become ideal for Dogecoin to add SegWit to its code, and gain traction if it gains acceptance from the miners. Then, if it manages to become the first cryptocurrency to accept the scalable solution, it could rise in popularity once more (not to mention that transaction will be near instantaneous).

Nevertheless, Dogecoin is a great cryptocurrency being inexpensive and relatively stable, making it a great way to tip others or send micropayments faster than BTC at a fraction of the cost.

Looking forward to your opinion. Wink

You are not the only one with the same sentiment,I have a huge amount of Dogecoin and sitting in various exchange, and I'm sure all the other dogecoin holders, but only the developers can answer this which I'm sure they will do something about this issue.

As long as there are loyal supporters and believers of this meme coin, the future is wide open for great possibilities.

i think dogecoins is on its way to gets up in price like other altcoins beside that dogecoin have their fans and waiting to play more with the doge. yesterday, the dogecoin price is getting pump, i don't know who is but i see that the market is don't thinking about the increasing of the dogecoin price and there are many people is getting profit because of this.

Yeah it seems so. Looks like there are still people who're interested in the good old Dogecoin. These pumps are great for those who had Dogecoin earlier, making a nice profit out of it. I believe that the more Bitcoin users migrate into altcoins (due to BTC's slow transactions), the better it will be for their price.

As Dogecoin is an extremely fast cryptocurrency, it serves as a great tool for mainstream payments, while Bitcoin would serve only as a store of value just like Gold. Maybe someday the dev would return, or there would be a community takeover to help improve Dogecoin and modernize its code. Getting SegWit acceptance on DOGE by the way, would be cool although not needed now. Just sharing my thoughts.  Smiley

When I learn to trade with altcoins dogecoin is the first altcoin I trade with. But since then price has not yet increased, yet Im hoping this coin will evolved. Because I believe it will rise again and many traders invest in dogecoin.

Yeah me too. It helps you as a starting ground to understand cryptocurrencies better, and learn more about their underlying technology. I use Dogecoin most of the times to test my trading skills, as well as to teach others who are new into cryptocurrencies.

I believe that the more it becomes used to introduce others into cryptocurrencies, the more popular and widely used it will become. Considering its supply and fast transaction speeds, it makes it the perfect coin for social micropayments.

Nevertheless, regardless of whenever Dogecoin gets innovation or not, it will aim to survive in the future by its supporting community. Just my opinion.  Smiley

Yes me too. dogecoin is the first altcoin I used to play with I started trading. But notice lately that the price and volume has not pick up. I wonder why had happened. But I guess, the coin is still alive and still have use today for some people. I hope the dev will be active soon and implement some good innovation so that this coined will not die. I don't have dogecoin with me, but I'm still thinking of buying and hold it for a while to see if I will profit in the long term.

Yea, yea and dogecoin is still alive until today because still there is values in dogecoin although it is just couples satoshi on exchangers altcoins, we will be worrying if dogecoin's price become one satoshi, it is dangerous for the future of dogecoin its self, if the altcoins become one satoshi it will be die but it is just my opinions saw the past altcoins on exchangers.

I guess you're right. If Dogecoin remains usable, and its value becomes more than 1 satoshi, there should be nothing to worry about. The best thing that DOGE has right now, is that its network is not clogged with users, leaving it free to process any transaction at blazing fast speeds. I think that it may never need to implement a scalable solution such as SegWit or increasing the block size, in contrast to Bitcoin.

Nevertheless, I hope that even if there would be no development or innovation for Dogecoin, it would become supported by the community for years to come. If there is at least 1 node on the network, the cryptocurrency would remain alive and usable. Just my opinion.   Grin
