I don't see that happening it anytime soon. Just look around and ask people who don't know about crypto, how many have heard about bitcoin and how many have heard about ethereum? The shift will come after more people get into crypto and new people will first buy bitcoins which will always keep BTC in demand. Next 2-3 years, BTC is not going anywhere, specially with lightening network etc coming in to play soon.
I do not doubt that the etherium has a huge potential and possibly even exceeds Bitcoin in terms of functionality. Just judging by the already reached maximum prices for Bitcoin in the area of 20,000 dollars, I doubt that the etheric can achieve the same results.

i think it is not going to be easy for ETH to beat BTC in just a short time and even in the future ETH can hardly catch up with BTC because ETH and BTC are two different kind of blockchain, so it is quite hard to compare them to each other, and because of ETH supply is unlimited, it is harder to pump ETH rise higher than BTC. BTC is always dominating the market so all altcoins include ETH will be effected by btc's control. because the market price of BTC is more stable than the selling price of ETH.

There is no chance that ethereum can reach the value of bitcoin this year. Because everytime bitcoin goes down ethereum goes down too. I think ethereum needs a little more time before it will cost like bitcoin.

I don't think so, no crypto could beat bitcoin even Ethereum. But in terms of alternative coins after Bitcoin, Ethereum is the best of them all. Investment in Ethereum is also the best and have sure income.

Frequently asked questions. I think a lot of people are discussing and answering this question. I see the answer is still the same as the previous questions. It will be difficult to beat BTC if indeed there is a possibility of ETH can. It will take a long time, and ETH may need to be able to bring the revolution and improve its systems and technology to be strong and capable of BTC.

If there is a coin that can beat bitcoin i think ethereum has the highest potential. I am open to the idea of ethereum surpassing bitcoin but i do not think it is going to happen in the near future. Ethereum team has been planning for this to happen for years.

In my opinion, there is hardly any chance that ETH can beat the BTC in terms of value, popularity, reputation, user base / investment. Bitcoin has been known for creating wealth for many. That is always associated with bitcoin and it always captured the most attention in the community as well as investors. Over time, altcoin will become a balance of value as well as user base. The value of ETH will be difficult to make breakthroughs like bitcoin.
