I don't think that we will ever see it happen. Ethereum is very good, but Bitcoin is the leader. All crypto investors are following Bitcoin, not Ethereum.
That is true but about your last sentence: investors are following bitcoin not etherum, i don't think so, for me more experience people are just trying to follow both coins, they know how many aspects could happen for both of them and how big could be their price in few next months/ years.

Even if there is a chance that Ethereum can beat the pioneer, it will take it many years for the coin to do so. Ethereum is much more versatile than bitcoin as it provides a platform for posting new ICOs, can be used as a token for smart decentralised applications and has a much more advanced blockchain.
Still, Bitcoin being the pioneer has the first mover advantage. Also with a market capital of $127 billion, the coin has a bigger community and is more widely accepted in the financial market. So, Ethereum has the potential but it will take it time to overcome Bitcoin.
This gonna be hard for eth to beat bitcoin. I'm hoping to see this thing may come to pass but not much become bitcoin always has the control to all altcoins and etc until now remains powerless against it.
In crypto currency everything is possible. Remember the end of 2017, the rise of bitcoin and all the altkoins. Although bitcoin is the parent of all crypto currency, the etherium has a very large potential.

There will be but not at the moment. Its too early for Ethereum to reach its hype yet. Its not fully matured and developed that it needs alot of preparation and plan. And that's what Vitalik Buterin doing right now. He's making Ethereum well prepared because he knew what will gonna happened if he let Eth soar high its peak at this early season. Ethereum might cost higher than Bitcoin someday.
Since the ICO was supervised this year, the price of ETH has been greatly affected! Too centralized, too long-term risk too much!

In my own understanding, BTC has really the big advantage than ethereum in the sense that bitcoin has already established its strong foundation and we can see it on its market capitalization and price. By just comparing these attributes, we can really see the big difference of the two which i think ETH can't beat BTC as long as BTC exists.

In my opinion, ethereum is one of the most successful altcoins so far, and I think it wouldn't be an illogical prediction that, ethereum can reach the price and volume of the bitcoin.
I doubt if ethereum will has the same price like BTC in this year, it is possible to ethereum to pass bitcoin price, but not in this year, maybe 3 or 6 years later. But we can't predict the price, if the BTC price always down and close from ethereum price, maybe it can be real this year.

For me, that is an absolute no in 2018. However, Etherium, with its smart contract, will be a great bitcoin contender. I believe ETH will be able to beat bitcoin in the long term.

The price and value was different, and in order for ethereum to beat bitcoin is to surpass its marketcap sounds easy but it was been billions to pass just to beat bitcoin. I don't believe on it that it can beat bitcoin but lets take it to realize everything is possible in cryptocurrency.

We can not say anything, but in general for ETH to beat BTC is probably very difficult, although ETh is currently the most popular in the market but can not pass the current bid, probably BTC lasts longer in the market and they will be the king of the Crypto market forever after. 
As long as ethereum is alive and kicking in the market there is always be a chance that ethereum beat bitcoin someday but it will be hard for the ethereum to do that because bitcoin will always be the king.
There will probably chance, but I think the odds will be small, Ethereum has been in existence since a few years ago but we are more accustomed to using Ethereum as an alternative investment only and I think it will continue like this where ETH will continue to be an option and bitcoin will be the main coin for the users..
