It's been already a while since these two crypto giants are compared with each other but i believe that bitcoin will always have the edge of eth as long as bitcoin exists in the cryptoworld. Just looking at the market capitalization alone, i can see that eth has no chance of beating BTC at any point of time.

Ethereum is undervalued, so many projects are using ERC-20 tokens, already for that reason it has more value than Bitcoin. I am sure that will be also reflected in the marketcap one day, but I doubt it will be this year
Eth is now growing individually in all countries in near future we may see market respond to eth rather than bitcoin news then we can see-eth emerging as world number one currency

Having ETH to beat BTC is huge statement if someone will announce it. I believe someda ETH will have same value with BTC at the present but the current mark up for BTC will be huge. ETH will be much better for longterm investment and holding right now.

Ethereum has great prospects no doubt but surpassing Bitcoin in 2018, i dont see that happening at all

This is not enough, because the number of ethereals in circulation is about 100 million, and in bitcoin it is about 17 million. If you look at the ratio, it's a bit more than 6 times. This requires too much of the demand for Ethereum.

For 2018 ethereum will not be able to achieve bitcoin value, let alone beat bitcoin. But for the long term it might be possible, and someday ethereum can reach bitcoin value.
Probably not. Most of the mainstream people are coming to cryptocurrencies because of Bitcoin.

There is no doubt that the most likely coin to replace bitcoin in the near future is ETH, moreover the value of daily transactions of ETH continues to increase while the daily transaction volume of bitcoin continues to decline.

Well yes ethereum surely has the ability to do this becuase its technology is best among alll the coins even better than bitcoin...so i can happen..but cannot happen that easily after all bitcoin is the mother of all the crypto-currencies right now. 
I think it has a chance to, after all Ethereum is a good platform, faster and a better coin to be honest, though the popularity, market and the community of Bitcoin has is not something we can deny, I mean whether we like it or not, Bitcoin has already laid a really solid foundation here at the crypto world which is really tough to overthrow. Though who knows, we're in volatile world where anything can happen.

I can believe that one day it will happen. probably, when all 21 million of Bitcoin is mined, Ethereum will start playing the greatest role in the crypto world.
I'm not really sure but if it happens, it would not surprise me at all. The founder of Eth which is Vitalik is very active on the project and he's always around. They work so hard to make eth much more reliable and stronger that could beat btc someday.

yes, it is possible, i thought it will happens in 2018, but eth still far away from it, anyway, no need to keep all cash into one currency for good reasons.
