Will Ethereum be taking the 1st place in 2020? No. Not a chance, yes as we can see in the chart Ethereum had a good run between December upto the mid February having $288 as high last February but there were up and downs. And as February closes Ethereum falls down and remains quite flat at $230. Comparing it to Bitcoin's movement, it looks quite the same having a good start in the beginning of 2020 and even spike up last February then falls down in the end of the month. IMO, it seems to be almost the same in its movement, and may be bitcoin's market movement highly influence ethereum. Hence, there is no chance for ethereum to take over the number 1 spot.
Ethereum has been steadily on the rise for a good while now, and this first half of Q1 2020 has proven that they have brought that same energy into the new decade. They have started 2020 with a bang, more than doubling in value in just 2 months.

Actually it is true that ETH had a good growth during the beginning of year and gave holders good profit, also from the look of things there is still more room to grow. However, saying any coin will take the number position in the crypto market is far from being true or being achievable. The number of people that values Bitcoin is much, in fact there are many people who holds only but Bitcoin as the see Bitcoin as the only decentralized cryptocurrency. Also, it is a fact that ETH is also a good coin on its own but overtaking bitcoin won't be possible in the same way, once there is an uptrend in price both Bitcoin and every other good coin will experience it not only ETH..
If seen from the opportunity, ehtereum has the opportunity or candidate to rank number one. Besides that where bitcoin as the main coin for this time lived the number began to decrease. That way maybe ehtereum can occupy the first position. But I don't think so for the near future
Honestly, I wouldn't be shocked if the market would crash this year and it ends up being twisted and shattered with ethereum on the first place, but it's hard for me to imagine what kind of event could do such harm to bitcoin. We're approaching halving and recent price drops once again shows how volatile this market is.

I am expecting more for ethereum for this year, and even if the major causes really influenced a great market. Although there's some struggles might affect our decision making, but still eth obtained a good trend as of now. This will took place next to bitcoin as it bounces a progressive value in midst of pressures in trading.

There's nothing on the article that says they are going to take over Bitcoin, and at the end of the article they say

They will have a great time this year but there is no mention about Bitcoin, so let's take it that way and don't confuse people I believe in both coins.
I agree what you have said in your post but i do not agree with what your post title says, i mean Eth is obviously nicely positioned to boom from here and after multi years of downtrend and also with so many upgrades lined up we all know that Eth is poised to go north but i do not think that it is that easy to be number one in terms of market cap, even if it happens i do not think it will happen quickly, it will take quite a long time and only gradually and obviously not this year.
This is a no for me at the moment unless the Ethereum foundation as well as its community decide to adjust some few stuffs about ETH.

Though the price of ETH is likely going to increase as we continue to approach the launch of their Proof of Stake Network but i doubt it would out perform that of Bitcoin halving.

I think that by the end of the year we will see very good results. although it’s just March, and this year can be very volatile for ETH, I think that at the end of the year the price of ethereum will reach $ 800. Of course, everything will depend on the mood of Bitcoin.
Ethereum, of course, from the very beginning showed good growth in price and a quick update of its technologies and capabilities, and as we see to this day, demand for ethereum services and technologies is only growing, but unfortunately ethereum will not be able to overtake bitcoin, but ethereum will always be at second place.
Really of all years 2020 the halving year, this is a big joke if you think Bitcoin can be overcome by any coin this year, when everybody are predicting how high Bitcoin can get this year, we have this kind of question

anyway, it's only a few weeks before April fool's day. 
Anything can happen, especially in this kind of investment where volatility is high. If somehow Bitcoin goes down, most of the alts would too, but if the people don't cash out their money and just convert it to Ethereum or other alts, then that is one way there is to be in the 1st rank, but only only eth, xrp is a good candidatee too.
Etherum will do well this year 2020, but i do not see it taking first place on coinmarketcap.

in my opinion the biggest thing that crypto users from ETH are waiting for is the POS system. the benefits and conveniences that have been offered from this system we can expect will bring the improved ETH price. whereas to occupy the number one position in my opinion is still very far to shift the position of BTC in the market. maybe only when BTC runs out in the market the ETH can shift and occupy the number one position in the market.
Ethereum will not bypass Bitcoin. It is obvious. I will even say this, many analysts generally say that ethereum can die. Therefore, when there is such a different opinion about one coin, I can only say one thing. Time will tell who was right. But I would like you to be right. Because I believe and invest in ethereum.
No other coin can overcome bitcoin in price and total market-cap and market dominance. Bitcoin will always be number 1, ETH is only struggling to stay on 2nd position, as it has many contender as regards its smart-contract technology. Bitcoin stands in it won class.
I don't think the price of ETH can continue to go up this year. Even the price of ETH could not surpass $ 400 because the current market has cooled and bitcoin did not grow like every investor had expected this year.

No, I guess it's impossible mate look at the Bitcoin dominance and ETH It's way behind BTC. On the other side the market shows that the bullish scenario is still possible, ETH is getting more and more popular among the crypto community but eth price is low at the moment so I don't think I will beat BTC and dominate the No 1 position.
market Cap is too high for ethereum to make it number 1,and the same as the growth because Bitcoin is staying strong in the number 1 position.
The first position means a lot, it explains everything. From the origin of cryptocurrency, decentralization and many more.
Ethereum as another alternative coin will not have any chance to take over Bitcoin place because most people know Bitcoin as cryptocurrency.

Another reason is ETH still has a lot of flaws like scalability issues and centralization. So no matter what, it will not overtake Bitcoin position.

I don't think ethereum can be the 1st place in 2020 because we still have bitcoin that is on the 1st. As long as bitcoin still leads the crypto, ethereum will not have a chance to beat bitcoin, and ethereum will be behind on bitcoin. But ethereum can be a 2nd in the crypto market, and maybe ethereum can be a king for the altcoin because now ethereum is already got a second-place under bitcoin. Ethereum can still at 2nd position at the crypto market, and it is hard for the other coins to beat ethereum.
