Judging by the rate of Ethereum, this race will last forever, I also noticed one pattern, when Bitcoin grows immediately and Ethereum grows, most likely a lot of people trade in the Ethereum / Bitcoin pair, but this trend has persisted for many months, Ether does not grow without growth bitcoin ....

We're not sure if the Ethereum will last, remember that Ethereum has limited supply also there's a lot of upcoming and existing projects that can competes against Ethereum for sure that the Ethereum will be here for a long time but we may not know in the future. Maybe another coin or similar to digital currency will come and it will be a new generation.

Never worry with ethereum price after hardfork now etehreum going with fantastic price again and success cross above $3,000. I believe have chance for ethereum raise above $10k few months or years later but keep stable bitcoin with higher price. Only ethereum have bigger impact with bitcoin price, when bitcoin success back to higher price ethereum always show most higher increase price than other altcoin.
Yeah, it has crossed $3k again but the fees are not lovingly again. But there's no complain as long as we're seeing the price of it. I guess this is the usual thing. Whenever a coin goes above the price that we've seen a week or a year ago, the price also goes on high. But it's a different thing with bitcoin, despite the high price of it, fees are settled at low says per byte but I wish that this is going to be lowered anytime soon as the hard fork seems to be a success.

Of all cryptocurrencies, ETH is in one of the currencies that is most likely to survive, of course, it will always be dependent on BTC, however in the long term it is speculated according to a technical analyst that it may rise 30% more than BTC, guaranteeing thus the life of ETH which is considered the second most important currency after BTC:

Quote
A drop below that level would lead to a potential drop of 20% from current levels. The cryptocurrency space as a whole, she added, could enter a risk-on mode with ETH outperforming BTC over the last few weeks:

Bitcoin is losing relative strength versus Ether, noting the ratio above has broken down below its 50-day MA and a minor low, signaling a potential switch to a risk-on environment within the cryptocurrency space
Source: https://www.cryptoglobe.com/latest/2021/08/ethereum-eth-could-surge-30-while-outperforming-bitcoin-says-technical-analyst/

For weeks it has been seen that ETH has a growth rate higher than BTC, according to what is shown in the article, ETH is one of the currencies that has the longest life in the market, it is likely that it will continue to grow, and that we can see ETH at $ 3k very soon, it all depends on the BTC movements that continue to rise.

while bitcoin still exists, eth will accompany btc. especially at this time there are still many erc based projects, and today eth burns as much as 450 eth, isn't that a good effort to raise the price of eth itself?
don't be afraid buddy eth won't die

Ever since Ethereum was created in 2015, the whole crypto/Blockchain space improved in many ways that were never imagined. The ICO trend of 2017, and the current "De-Fi"/NFTs hype are all attributed to Ethereum's ever-rising popularity in the mainstream world. If it wasn't because of Ethereum, we wouldn't had a plethora of smart contract platforms to choose from. The crypto/Blockchain space would've been focused solely on finance, instead of serving as a hub for decentralized applications.

It's been 6 years since ETH came into inception, and now the smart contract platform is the second-largest blockchain network in the world. Some people compare ETH to BTC because of its focus on decentralization unlike any other cryptocurrency on the market today. As of this date, Ethereum has a large number of miners and nodes keeping the blockchain alive and healthy. If ETH continues to grow, it could live alongside Bitcoin for many years. But we all know that nothing lasts forever.

What's your opinion on this? Will Ethereum last forever? Or will it eventually die? Do you think it'll retain its place as the second-largest cryptocurrency by market cap for long? If not, why? Do competitors stand a chance against ETH? Your input will be greatly appreciated. Thank you. Smiley

I can't guarantee Ethereum will last forever, but for the next 2 or 3 years they will remain at the number two position, so far there is no capacity for another coin to replace it.

If we're honest, the odds against Ethereum are currently very heavy and impossible, ethereum has a lot of advantages at the moment, compared to other coins. More and more people are starting to believe in it and as evidenced by the many choices that are given to people today, it is not fundamental to say that Ethereum will be replaced in the near future.

We should not use the word forever because nothing lasts forever, everything runs for a limited time, the right word is a long time or a specific time like ten or twenty years, Ethereum so far is looking for an update so they can keep up with the transactions and fees, many developers are doing cross-chain and they prefer creating their coin on Binance than on Ethereum.

I think it all depends on the ethereum developer, if the developer is serious in developing then it looks like ethereum will never be defeated by other altcoins let alone lost in circulation. Most altcoins are lost because of not being serious in their development, but I see ethereum is an altcoin that will get better and will never disappear in the market. ethereum is the best altcoin
From what has been seen and proven, it is very clear that Ethereum is the best altcoin and has also gone through some very good development, including for the development of ETH 2.0 which many people are waiting for at the moment and it will take place tomorrow.

true to what you said, the development of ethereum which is currently underway is great and exciting news for ethereum users and holders. well, from that information, the ethereum developer has proven his seriousness in developing his product, namely ETH 2.0
ETH is having cool story so far. I wouldn't be surprised if that's how things play out. I'm sure we all got lambo, however I wouldn't bet anything against this crazy market. I know something is cooking. I'm planning to sell half of my holdings before London fork comes out in case of a dump and I can buy the dips.

I personally believe that ETH will continue to exist and maintain its position as the king of every altcoin, even though it now has some real competitors, it will never decrease the popularity of ETH among users.

I think the popularity of Ethereum is not diminishing because we are still seeing ETH market cap at 2nd position coinmarketcup and I agree with you if ethereum will continue to exist, some new projects on the ethereum network are being developed and I think when the fork happened, the users who were using yesterday other blockchain networks will return to ethereum as transaction fees are currently back to normal

For me yes Ethereum will remain forever as long as Vitalik reputation and passion is there. Ethereum has a lot of competitors nowadays that also very good project and a user friendly. Not like Ethereum the gas sometimes is so high. Nevertheless it is still on rank #2.

yes that's true, besides that I think that what makes Ethereum still rank 2 and last forever is the community of Ethereum, so as long as there are still many people who invest in Ethereum and the community of Ethereum continues to grow, then of course it affects Ethereum to survive and be ranked 2 on coinmarketcap forever, therefore in my opinion Ethereum will always be feasible to be a long-term investment at any time, because the community of Ethereum will definitely continue to grow and make the price of Ethereum can continue to increase very high, so we will get a big profit from investing in Ethereum for long term.
I think trust in ethereum will continue to be maintained, as was the case yesterday when the ethereum network was abandoned by many users because it had a large fee, and at that time BSC became an option. we can see at that time where ethereum did not waver from its position until now, until there was an improvement in the network system

I'm not sure about forever staying but what i believe is Ethereum is here for us to make profit as long as we trusted this and as long as we wanted too.
ETH had been proven to be climbing with bitcoin for how many years now and also known to be an altcoin king.
so investing in this coin assures you income in long term as what bitcoin can do.
i would say yes, Ethereum will survive cause i believe they always trying to be better. I do also believe ETH will be use by many enterprise as a public blockchain, we already see so many cases in supply chain that can help enterprise to reduce cost and it will be adopted by many enterprise, and currently i think the best blockchain for it is ETH.
Lol really Staying Forever?  Grin though ethereum team is keeping the progress  for this coin but of course forever is too much to mention .

Vitalik consistently continues to innovate ETH. now ETH 2.0 I think ETH is led by developers who are active, creative, innovative. it will continue to develop many thing in the future and I believe the value will also be higher because there are already many large projects depending on the ETH smart contract.

All things will come to an end because there is no such thing as forever, they are good as long as the developers keep up with the development of the project, and no projects can beat the Ethereum technology, based on what I see Ethereum is still doing great, and will likely stay as one of the top coins in the market.
Ethereum has never stayed silent in terms of development, but some people have forgotten about this when there are other coins that are developing with a very positive trend, even though if we compare it with Ethereum, it is still nothing and still very little to compare

They say nothing last forever. But I think Ethereum would be here for the long term. It is the second most popular cryptocurrency after Bitcoin and it offers upcoming projects a platform to build on. It is surely here to stay.
It is a fact that nothing lasts forever and that's the same with what they say with bitcoin but they have to accept the reality that these great cryptocurrencies are here to stay in the long term. There is no doubt that they'll be part of the longer history of the market and they'll surely be the top choices no matter how many new projects come in. And Ethereum as being used by many projects, it is really going to stay as it's usage is being common to most developers despite some new contender have come up, still Ethereum will stay.

right now if we talk about developers of course there is a very good clarity when Jeff Prestes talks about the hard fork which is expected to bring good news for eth.
apart from gas, which has been in question for a long time, it will decrease, I think eth will also start to be in demand again by most altcoin lovers.
and I think this will be a turning point for eth to go fast and hopefully for this year eth will be stable again
