For me yes Ethereum will remain forever as long as Vitalik reputation and passion is there.
It means not forever, man. Your statement implies that if Vitalik is no longer in Ethereum, it won't survive. I think you may be right about this? But how if Vitalik's son or another person who leads Ethereum platform? I think there is still a chance for Ethereum to survive, surely not lasts forever. What I mean, as long as there is someone as a leader in Ethereum platform, it still can survive longer.

Some questions that I do see on this forum aren't sometimes a serious ones and they don't really require an answer, there is google for every country to search for answers.
Ethereum isn't something that will die anytime soon in my opinion and even despite many developers running into new projects and creating hype, it's still the best performing altcoin after bitcoin and it's been developed everyday to serve its purpose and customers. Upcoming development is going to shift market sentiment very soon to Ethereum.

What's your opinion on this? Will Ethereum last forever? Or will it eventually die? Do you think it'll retain its place as the second-largest cryptocurrency by market cap for long? If not, why? Do competitors stand a chance against ETH? Your input will be greatly appreciated. Thank you. Smiley
ethereum was the first altcoin to use smart contracts and it was revolutionary, this is what makes ethereum special and cannot be shifted
we all often hear news about the emergence of the "altcoins ethereum killer" but to this day no one can kill it

ethereum will continue to survive and be in second place marktecap, the position is irreplaceable
Of course, ethereum will survive and will continue to grow. platforms are constantly being developed and this will continue to grow their market adoption. altcoin trading dominance will probably remain ethereum for a long time.

BSC needs more time to compete with Ethereum but BSC has a chance to be number two in the position. But if ethereum can have another update and people still trust ethereum, it seems BSC will not have an opportunity to beat ethereum. Ethereum will last for a long time but we do not know how long it will be. We can only use the benefit from ethereum while we do not just choose ethereum to make money because many other coins can give us a chance to make more money.
If you look at the projects most of them migrated to other chains which means that BSC and the rest of the chains like HOO will be relevant even if Ethereum resolves their issues and you need to understand all the projects that took the ETH chain was struggling because of higher transaction fees for over an year and you cannot expect everyone to stick to that and i wont be surprised if those valuation rises again.

IMO vitalik has nothing to do with how long ethereum can still exist in the crypto. Ethereum was a decentralized smartcontract system that build in the network from the so many miners/nodes or validators after ethereum will be migrating to the POS. that means what can keep ethereum will still exist must be the validators and miners. Vitalik has nothing to do with it. The miners and validators will be determining how long ethereum will survive.
This is just my 2 cents dude.

Ethereum is the most effective altcoin and Ethereum will final for all time so long as many platforms are nonetheless cooperating this is a nice component in Ethereum motion in the future, now many also use the Ethereum network in order that the popularity of Ethereum is always increasing and  I think as long as cryptocurrency technology exist, Ethereum will remain in the cryptocurrency market with top cryptocurrency over time.

Ethereum has been around for a very long time in the crypto space and has a very good reputation compared to other altcoin. So far, Ethereum biggest rival is the BSC platform, but the existence of BSC has not been able to shift Ethereum position as one of the most popular altcoin. As long as crypto continue, Ethereum will grow even more in the future.

Bitcoin and Ethereum will not last forever. Time will come both of them will become obsolete and a better technology will prevail and replace them. But that might take a lot of time. For now, Ethereum is doubtless the next most trusted cryptocurrency. It will remain to be there alongside Bitcoin. Also, Ethereum is also fast developing. It doesn't run out of new updates and development. Other altcoin projects will probably remain inferior compared to Ethereum.
Whether Bitcoin and Ethereum will last long or not I don't know,
but indeed as the era of technology is also getting more sophisticated,
and for now both Bitcoin and Ethereum I think are still irreplaceable and both are still growing of course

I believe that the status of Ethereum will not be shaken easily. Although there are many bad remarks about Ethereum, the status of Ethereum has not been shaken because the replicas on the market have not replaced the fundamental value of Ethereum. There is no fresh idea that makes people shine.
Ethereum is better than some mainstream currencies. Ethereum will not die. Even if it falls, we can go short, so there is no need to worry about Ethereum.

For me yes Ethereum will remain forever as long as Vitalik reputation and passion is there. Ethereum has a lot of competitors nowadays that also very good project and a user friendly. Not like Ethereum the gas sometimes is so high. Nevertheless it is still on rank #2.

The hope of Ethereum is naturally not small, because the development strength of Ethereum is second only to Bitcoin. However, in addition to the slow technological update and iteration of Ethereum, the future is not very optimistic, but Ethereum has caught up with the good era, and the contribution of Ethereum is also very large, so that the market value of Ethereum has always been ranked second. If there are competitors, competition Can the value of the person be greater than that of Ethereum?Personally feel that there is no need to be a substitute, be yourself, present a new concept, and make people more impressive.

Ethereum will continue to exist for a long time. As an open source smart contract public blockchain platform, it has strong technical support. It has made a great contribution to the encryption system, and the various smart contracts created can be used by many people for transactions or other investments.
Ethereum is a decentralized cryptocurrency, and decentralization will be a huge development in the future of finance and many other fields. As long as the crypto market exists, Ethereum will exist.

its funny how eth foccus on decentralization but this coin was been called a centralized coin and if its true then it shouldnt be compared to bitcoin because bitcoin was pure decentralized but i think eth has a simillar lifespan with btc even if eth remains like this ( not really growing big ) and it can potentially be unranked because i think there are better alternatives to eth nowadays like polygon and binance chain  .

None of the cryptocurrencies are going to last forever. Each and every technological innovation has a limited shelf life and this is applicable with Bitcoin and Ethereum as well. But one thing is sure. Bitcoin will survive longer than Ethereum. Bitcoin developers have tried to address various issues such as security and scalability, while with Ethereum the developers have been indulging in delaying tactics and patchwork, just to avoid criticism. Ethereum is still the no.2 cryptocurrency, because a lot of well known projects are using the ERC-20 chain. And there is no guarantee that this will last for infinite period of time.

Nothing last forever so Ethereum can't last forever same as bitcoin. A day will come when they'll all become absolute but that's not happening anytime soon so we're to enjoy the now and worry less about what the future holds. Can Bitcoin die, if you can answer that question then you'll get the same answer for ethereum. Ethereum has been steadily building form the very beginning of its introduction to the industry. Ethereum ever since it was developed has been the backbone of the industry introducing new trends simultaneously and brining in developers and investors into the industry.

Without Ethereum majority of success of the industry won't have been achieved, there would had not been smart contract etc although majority of the technology been developed on the blockchain aren't really necessary and just a distraction still it's quite astonishing all the industry has been able to achieve all thanks to the Ethereum blockchain.

In regards the ranking, well it's just a matter of time before Ethereum and probably Bitcoin gets dethroned but that doesn't mean the coins leading would be the best out there. It could just be hyped or government influence. I strongly think stablecoin has a place among the top two. We just need a perfect one without all the flaws seen in the current ones.

Ether is the cornerstone of the entire ecosystem. If the developers adopt the proposal to become the number one crypto currency and make a real real stable coin that is not tied to Fiat, then this will be a breakthrough for the entire ecosystem.

Ever since Ethereum was created in 2015, the whole crypto/Blockchain space improved in many ways that were never imagined. The ICO trend of 2017, and the current "De-Fi"/NFTs hype are all attributed to Ethereum's ever-rising popularity in the mainstream world. If it wasn't because of Ethereum, we wouldn't had a plethora of smart contract platforms to choose from. The crypto/Blockchain space would've been focused solely on finance, instead of serving as a hub for decentralized applications.

It's been 6 years since ETH came into inception, and now the smart contract platform is the second-largest blockchain network in the world. Some people compare ETH to BTC because of its focus on decentralization unlike any other cryptocurrency on the market today. As of this date, Ethereum has a large number of miners and nodes keeping the blockchain alive and healthy. If ETH continues to grow, it could live alongside Bitcoin for many years. But we all know that nothing lasts forever.

What's your opinion on this? Will Ethereum last forever? Or will it eventually die? Do you think it'll retain its place as the second-largest cryptocurrency by market cap for long? If not, why? Do competitors stand a chance against ETH? Your input will be greatly appreciated. Thank you. Smiley
TLDR

NEAR scales Ethereum with Aurora, look it up. Horizontal sharding and smart contracts running on top of smart contracts for the win.
