Lets beat the ethereum first the queen of the crypto currencies then think about beating the bitcoin.And also interms of what means number one crypto currency? Eventhough it is not a crypto currency many people were still investing on it but I hope it is just for some short term period.

I somehow do not hope the ripple becomes the number one. It would certainly not be good if bitcoin is replaced by ripple. Then the idea of a decentralized currency would have failed.

Its only a dream, from now on no altcoins can replace bitcoin. Xrp total supply is 100 billion very huge supply which is 60% of XRP tokens are owned by Ripple. Maybe it is possible that ripple surpass bitcoin but it takes time and not this end of year 2018.

ETH has turn itself to a laughing stock. Its competition can only be with ripples not bitcoin. having seen its response at every rise of ripple I know it is really struggling. Keep your savings in bitcoin, It still have capacity for a surprise run. I look most time at ethereum in bitcoin value, now at 0.034 from 0.12. Does that look like it wants to compete? Its trouble will be obvious in the coming years when stellar, NEO etc have more adoption and grow in value above it.

Why is it should be?? Now XRP is on the third place in the top crypto list if you check you will see it's not the first time when XRP tries to take overcome ETH but it can't. I don't see any possibility of this happening at all. Coins with greater potentials are not even considering this option, then I think Xrp have got no chance at all, not as soon as the year's end. I wanna believe, xrp have got a long way to go to even start dreaming at all. Instead of dreaming of being first, one thing to be done is to ensure their whitepaper/roadmap is strictly followed the best it can. This should go a long way in helping to achieve any goal thereafter

I will not dream up that much, XRP is an altcoin that is developing well, and this will be a safer value than other coins but will not be number one.

I think it still far away for XRP to replace bitcoin and became the number 1 cryptocurrency, in therm of market volume there is a big gap between those 2 coins.
So I don't think it's possible for XRP to became the number 1 this last year.

This will not happen to ripple. bitcoin will still be the leader until the end of the year.
