The winner of the year will be announced at the end of the year, but now all the crypto currency is barely getting up!

Recently, I was thinkig. Is there really any reason for the BTC to be the market leader? The only thing that is giving the value to BTC is pretty much the fact, that it was the first crypto currency. It is the grandfather of all cryptos. But we know it has its flaws... It was never designed for broad usage, it has scaling issues and so on.
On the other hand, we were given ETH. The Crypto Kitties or w/e the awesome internet meme ETH appliction is called showed us, that ETH network has issues with high amounts of usage. BUT, 90% of all altcoins are based on the ERC-20 standard, brought to us by ETH. The smart contracts using the Solidity are extremly good piece of technolgy.
So my question is. Do you think, that BTC will keep its leadership, or will ETH be the winner of this year and surpass its ancestor?
BTC are winner always in this year, because Bitcoin the leader and center of the coins, eth is the second if the BTC go down the eth also down. If the btc grow up also the eth are going up. None will be the winner totally. Price of BTC and ETH influences each other. In terms of investment, ETH is better than BTC, but by popularity, BTC is the winner.
Ethereum will win the final. I really bet on the rise of ethereum simply because people are really building on it.
No one can make an accurate who is the winner in this year because it is not the end of the year 2018 but also it is hard to decide which is the one of the good now it is ETH or the using of BTC only the person who can judge is the person who usually often use those two.
I guess it is not just about the technology, and the use case. Like with gold, it is definitely not the metal with the best attributes, but still worth more than other metals.
My choice is bitcoin. This is the first and largest coin. Also the most stable coin. In the long-term perspective - bitcoin number one

It is too early to make those conclusions because if you would see the situation on the market the very beginning of this year you can see that those things were changed drastically few times already and it's only 7 months. A sharp rise in the price of a coin is hampered by a continuous and unlimited emission. If the production of bitcoin is guaranteed to stop at around 21 million, then the mining of etheriums does not have such a limit.
If the ethereum continues going down I don't think it will get anywhere, it will probably even be replaced as the second best currency, and we already know that it has many competitors like EOS or NEO that are just waiting for a slip to take his place, BTC has remained stable despite everything, with one or two dips but always rebounding, but that shouldn't surprise anyone as this is to be expected for its value in the market.

I think bitcoin will still be a champion this year, even though bitcoin has decreased, the price remains high and bitcoin remains in the first place in the coin list.
I think eth has a great potential and this is evident by the fact that most of the projects ico based on the eth blockchain. But btc is the progenitor of the cryptocurrency and its behavior in the market sets the weather to all the other coins ... so it's hard to say for sure btc or eth.
I think that 2018 will be a very bad year for the crypto currency. That's why there will be no winners. But at the moment Bitcoin looks better.

I believe that by the end of this year, both coins will grow well. It can not be compared because they are very different coins. And I am sure that they will make progress in the crypto currency.
BTC is the winner no doubt, BTC is the king that is impossible to dethrone this year is obviously the year of BTC just wait for the ETF approval and BTC will skyrocket and break its all-time high, just a few months to go and we all see that happen.
No doubt bitcoin, and there will always be bitcoin. Eteroom is no doubt a very strong coin, but bitcoin is king, there is no reason to doubt it. All coins depend on bitcoin. At the moment you can see this exposure, all the coins are falling, and bitcoin is held at its own level.
It is actually too early to tell the real winner, currently bitcoin hasn't drop that much if you compare it to ethereum, that keeps dropping everyday, but there are still 4 months left to end the year and a lot of things could happen in that amount of time.
