We may have to wait for the year to finish to get into conclusions but currnetly Bitcoin is the clear winner, although ethereum may have more potential.

Well financially speaking I think that the biggest winner will be bitcoin again, of course I'm talking from now on, since it's difficult to predict what will happen in a few months, from the predictions we have on hand we can say that eth will remain stable but at a low price, but bitcoin I think it has the potential to go even higher, I want to be conservative and say that it will close at 10k by December.

In terms of value bitcoin is still going strong even though it drop considerably, it could close the year with a value way ahead of what it currently has, while ethereum keeps dropping day by day, this one could still grow too but only if it keeps innovating more.

Recently, I was thinkig. Is there really any reason for the BTC to be the market leader? The only thing that is giving the value to BTC is pretty much the fact, that it was the first crypto currency. It is the grandfather of all cryptos. But we know it has its flaws... It was never designed for broad usage, it has scaling issues and so on.
On the other hand, we were given ETH. The Crypto Kitties or w/e the awesome internet meme ETH appliction is called showed us, that ETH network has issues with high amounts of usage. BUT, 90% of all altcoins are based on the ERC-20 standard, brought to us by ETH. The smart contracts using the Solidity are extremly good piece of technolgy.
So my question is. Do you think, that BTC will keep its leadership, or will ETH be the winner of this year and surpass its ancestor?

From what we see now, bitcoin value is still stable in the market while the ethereum value keep falling from past weeks and not going up back.
So, maybe this year's winner is bitcoin after all. There are still last quarter for this year, but i think bitcoin will keep dominating the entire crypto market.
if you see in coinmarketcap, the dominance of bitcoin is always above 50%.

I think now the BTC is a more reliable coin for investment than ETH. The price of ETH is very unpredictable.
It is hard to say BTC or ETH "the winner of this year", because boyh of them have some losses. But BTC is more stable now due to more higher confidence from investors.
Bitcoin will surely be the winner this year because until now ethereum is not pumping it's value and for me ethereum has no chance to became number one on the market because a lot of people in this world is prefer to put there money with btc over than eth.
I also think that Bitcoin will remain number 1 this year. The Ethereum grew strongly only due to the huge amount of ICO that were conducted on its platform. As soon as the wave of ICO was over, the price of ETH began to fall. Before investors interest in ICO returns, Bitcoin should begin another cycle of growth and restore the price.
