Why the delay:
CryptX has not paid me yet, that lead to me being unable to pay my contractors which then stopped production.
After a lot of back and forth i managed to convince them to finish the Job.
Cryptx didnt pay you till now... i dont see a reason why they should do this.

Uhm, what? You don't see a reason why CryptX should pay his debts? Can you elaborate?

Lost in translation I think...

Don't see a reason why he WOULD do this...
i.e. Unacceptable behavior

Legendary Escrow Service - Tip Jar in Profile
If i chose shipping in the beginning, Months back. Is there anyway to change to a refund request? And are refunds issued in the bitcoin amount you paid or euros, im assuming euros

You can choose what currency you want to receive (EUR/BTC), the BTC amount will follow the current bitpay-price.

Status Update:

I received the last batch of boards today .
Almost all of it will be leave my hands again tomorrow.
Was a lot of work to package them all.

Hello burnin,

Avalon will soon start auction of their 55nm chips on TradeHill auction. Will you be able to build boards for these chips?

I have sample chips here i will test, but i am busy with the old ones at the moment.

Thanks. Is there anyone, who can build boards out of new Avalon 55nm chips? Maybe cryptx? I wish to buy chips, but I need to find good engineer to build boards first Smiley

Cryptx doesn't build boards, they let burnin make them and then rip him off

You're a brave one to trust Avalon to actually ship chips on time after the last disaster.

455MHz @ 32C?  Shocked Are you running them in your fridge???
Anyway I'll try with my air cooled bitburners and "--avalon-auto". Let's see what happens...
For me "--avalon-auto" results in slower hashrates - after about 10h it went down to ~320MHz (starting at 380MHz). I'll try again with v3.4.3, maybe this will result in better rates...

I would really like to see pictures of solaris setup, must look awesome.
+1

sorry for the delay. I had problems with my PC.

All the things are working very good with no problems.
There is only one problem: It will take about 4 weeks. Then the energy costs will be higher than the earnings.

WTF?

Lets do some math, maybe im just going nuts here.

150 watts for the ventilator

XX Watts for the pump, you didnt write about that.

around 110 watts per bitburner board, coming up to around 5300 watts
This means, we are talking 5500 watts and a hashrate of 420gh/s.

"calculating"

My calc is that you need around 3900 kw/h per month. Basically, this equipment burns on the level of a normal family per month.

How expensive is that? Well, in my country, I pay around  25 eurocents per kw/h. Coming up to 975€. That us quite expensive already.
Your mining profits right now, per month, are around 3200 USD, around 2400€. Don't want to be annoying, but the difficulty would have to double again, to get you trouble. Not that it cannot happen, and it WILL likely happen, but how far do you think this is gonna go? At least you won't loose profits in the next four weeks I guess. You could even take doubling the diff right now to be profitable...

If the difficulty rises 40% this time ( 5 days)  and next time ( 5+ 10 = 15 days) then it´s 96% highter than today. In this case the 4 weeks are only 15 days....
And yes, if I could make the decision again to buy or not to buy the chips and bitburners months ago with the knowledge of today, I wouldn´t have them.

There is something wrong with the math.

I am guessing that 5GH/s units are the 20 chips modules. If I convert 105 EURO's to CAD it's about $150 CAD. To get over 100GH/s I will need to spend $3000 CAD. Yet our friend YiFU sells the 4 module Avalon's for 12BTC which is $2400 CAD which I can easily get 100GH/s from.

Don´t forget the time in the math.

The costs for 16 Bitburnerxx ( with together 320 chips) were ( long times ago)
320 chips 0,086 Bitcoins each : 27,52 Bitcoins
16 BitburnersXX 105 Euros each: 1680 Euros ( it that times about 16,8 Bitcoins)
ATX PowerSupply, Raspberry Pi,..  250 Euros  ( 2,5 Bitcoins)

27,5+16,8+2,5  =  46,8 Bitcoins

Today the AVALON 4-module miner with 320 chips costs   8 Bitcoins

So today it is better to buy a miner with 320 chips for 8 Bitcoins then for 47 Bitcoins ....

I run Linux on my abacus.
There is only one problem: It will take about 4 weeks. Then the energy costs will be higher than the earnings.

Maybe you can use the waste heat for house heating then? Put the radiator inside the house etc.

sorry for the delay. I had problems with my PC.
At the moment it´s cold outside ( 4°C) and I set the voltage to 1300 mV.

I´m using an old cooler from a car. It needs 150 W for the ventilation.

And this is the water pump. max 2200 l/h

And this are my 48 bitburnerXX:

Hey burnin,

Are you still planning to refund me? My emails don't seem to reach you, and I don't see anyone else talking about refunds so I thought I'd bring it up right here. I paid you 30~BTC, and all my chips are refunded. Let's talk. I'm sick of waiting.

I'm waiting for a refund too. Willing to put it towards a BitFury board if it can make ROI.
