Thanks for the tips. I can relate to what you have said because I've been far from my country since 3 years already. Even if I have to take a break every year for a month is no enough to heal the homesickness you said. But it helps but when the time to go back again to work abroad it is very very difficult to accept. I just condition my mind that this is for my family that in the futurewhen I have enough savings I can go back home and be with my family. This is for my family as my strength when I'm away.

I could not work abroad because I am extremely well at home. Moreover, most of the reasons given for leaving, such as open-mindedness, etc., do not seem to me to be exclusive to travel. So read a hundred books to start with and you'll have an open mind.

Of course working abroad can require a lot of sacrifice, because you need to change a lot in your life.
But it opens your mind, and it can be an unvaluabe experience for the future.

Yes it is a sacrifice. My husband is working abroad and I know his sacrifices. It is hard for him to go and work abroad but he have to for us. He wants a good future for our daughter. The salary that he can earn abroad is much higher than staying and working here. That is why as his wife I am making sure that I am spending his money wisely.

Well imagine all the special occassions for you and your daughter that your husband is going to miss so he can earn money. Its rrally admirable the way people can pass up on such occassions for the sake of making a good future for their families. Its hard for them that's for sure

Working abroad is a lot of sacrifice because you need to leave your family to be able to help them in their financial assistance.

I agree, You will also feel the importance of your family's presence when you are alone in other country working. The sacrifice of being away from them just to give them a better life is one of the way to show them how much we love them. Sadly, there are family members who also take advantage of the person who is working abroad. My prayer is that all of the people can stay in their own country with better opportunities so that they don't have to leave their families. Its not always about the money we can give but also our presence and time to bond with them.
You do not have to worry about that! Working abroad has many sacrifices but you have a lot of money to change your life. Sacrifice on time, sacrifice on the entertainment you have to work hard. But the remuneration for employees is quite good.

It’s true. Working overseas is a big sacrifice. My father used to work abroad for almost 40years now. and he told me that I was just 2 month old when he left to work abroad and came back when I was 2 y.o. He’s telling me that I was scared of him that time because I didn’t know/recognize him at all and it really break his heart. That’s why I salute all the people who works abroad for their families future.

I idolized people who are working abroad because they really sacrifice a lit for the sake of their family.Life here in our country is very hard if you do no have stable job, that's the reason why other people go abroad because there's no oppurtunity here.

Indeed its a lot of sacrifice to work abroad. Being apart from love ones just to work abroad and earn money is the most painful feelings that a person could. Sacrificing happiness with love ones is a very sad. And when unlucky , working abroad maybe worst than expected , there are many situations where the maids working as domestic helpers from middle east is mistreated by there employers. And most of them are being harass sexual by men employers. Working abroad is difficult it takes a person with strong will to do that.

of course working abroad is a lot of sacrifice. Most of the people goes abroad in quest of work. They goes to abroad to make money after leaving their father, mother, children, wife etc and I think it is a great sacrifice indeed.

It is not just the difficulty in staying away from the relatives and loved ones. Migrant workers are also susceptible to all sorts of exploitation. For example, I read somewhere that more than 99% of the housemaids in the GCC nations (United Arab Emirates, Saudi Arabia, Qatar, Kuwait.etc) end up getting raped by the Arab employers.

Hey guys,I just wanted to share some tips when you are planning to work outside your country or if you wanted to work abroad.
First you need to know things about the country you are planning to go or work.Knowing their cultures and tradition will help you a lot when you are already there.
Second is to know the rules of your target country. Some country especially in middle East have very strict rules and  if you guys come from an open city then u have to adjust a lot in their rules.
Third and most important is be mentally, emotionally and physically prefered.,you will come there to work. You need to sacrifice a lot of things and even your family. As for my experience homesickness is very hard to beat especially when you are used to do things with your love ones like celebrating ocassions. Here you will celebrate those days alone.
So if you guys have other tips on working abroad please comment here and share your thoughts.
I hope this topic can help people who wanted to go to other country for work.I wish you goodluck guys.!

Yes, i agree it will take some time to adjust to the place where your families and friends are a thousand miles away and its a lot of sacrifice including your daily routine where you came from. The loneliness and the emptiness while you work abroad knowing and hoping that everything is alright back home. But thats the thing. We sometimes dont have a choice and we just have to be strong to live far away from our families to earn money for their better future.

Not just on the part where you have to adjust because they are far away from you and the loneliness. Also the primary adjustments that our beloved OFWs needs to go through is the type of culture that they have to adapt. That could really be hard for them since they will still be looking for things that they used to do or to have before in their respective places

Lots of people thinks working abroud it's the easiest choice for life but it's not, I worked abroad, not anymore. why? The feeling not belonging somewhere it's the worst, I didn't care what people thought about me or my country. A calling to a country shouldn't be by the need of work or a good payment.
