Watching my friend buy bitcoin for 25 cents in class and then watching him whoop in class when the price went to $1000 USD...
my worst mistake was always being too emotional when it comes to trading. which have always made me make irrational decisions which turn out to be wrong and cost me money.
I heard the words "Data mining" years ago and thought that it must be something hackers do or police to find stuff on a persons computer. Now in hind sight I think they were talking about mining bitcoin....

I guess I can add to my mistakes with bitcoins is buying something that I really don't need in the Digital Goods section even if I don't need it. I'm an impulsive buyer and if I see bitcoins in my wallet I go to the Digital Goods section and see if there's anything new from my last visit.
My big mistake was gambling. I Lost most of my bitcoins in gambling more than 5 bitcoins, strategies etc no matter , you always end up losing more than you deposit
Better to set a budget for gambling a that budget and if your budget get lost control your self to stop you can maximize your losses.5 bitcoin I a big amount of money. I cant afford to lost in gambling. 
I once send bitcoins to bad address by pure bad luck (mouse double clicked).

For now, the worst has been investing 0.02 in a HYP then the site dissapeared.

i made some mistakes one of the worst where invest at zenminer,i joined too late ,before 3 -5 months paycoin lauch.... i had sold all had roi but were a huge mistake enter into something that were getting complaints....the other one were invest in cryptospots ,that has a huge potencial,i had almost asked a loan to invest deeply into it,i had once again roi but i lost over 1,5btc in game balance and around 20btc of hash i could sell cheap....soo makes around 21btc potencial income losted with the game.And final i losted 0.10 bitcoins into poloniex because i bought altcoin herald at some 60 satoshis and it went to 10 satoshis and never recover it ,i didnt know what it were ,i were new into crypto world... i had profit before soo i tried it again and coin dead.
Basically downloading various different alt coin wallets and eventually getting my bitcoin stolen from a virus from one of the wallets still to this day I dont know which one it was

really i just curious how could the virus stolen your bitcoin?because i always install the altcoin software but i just using blockchain for my bitcoin wallet
I always run virustotal scan online then i download it and check with my antivirus and with Malwarebytes Anti-Malware then i open the .exe file. Or the best is to run in sandbox or in virtual machines.
Worst mistake you can do with your bitcoin is not to copy your bitcoin wallet or wallet.dat into secure location in case of some hardware failure.
Recently my primary HDD broke and I lost access to my PC and bitcoin stored there. Now I regret that I did not copied my bitcoin data to pendrive or something :/ Remember - create copies of your important data, something in your computer might break up at any time.

Buy BTC of course....Not recommended "but" acceptable if he has nothing to do with the money. What I mean is he is not rushing to grow it. Holding btc now is a slow method based on the current movement this past weeks.

Getting into Bitcoin too late was my worst mistake too. I heard about it before it went to 1100 but ignored it and didn't buy in. It's depressing getting into it right at the start of one of its longest bear markets ever, but lots of others did the same thing. If I could turn back time I would buy into Bitcoin the second I heard about it.

How about investing it in a business you like or something like that. Just make sure to evade that money in the category of the thread title so that someday you will not post here your worst mistake.

So far I dont have worst mistake I did in my bitcoin if that have it well serve as lesson to me and never repeat again. And before doing something to my bitcoin think wisely and no regret when something happen.
My worst mistake was investing almost all my bitcoins in cloudmining... but well scammers already lose a victim, i will never store my coins in any site ever 
Next time make sure that you invest at right place and at a right time, my worst mistake was I didn't gamble at the right time or else today I would have been an billionaire, I missed the opportunity to gamble on the right game at the right time, but that is not the mistake I guess, I would be getting such many opportunities in the coming future
