Not getting seriously involved with Bitcoin when I first came across it late in 2011, I though it was an interesting thing but did not try to learn more about it or invest in it.

I've read comments like yours so often here over the last two years. And to me it was almost the same.
I read the first time about it in 2012 and wasn't informing myself enough about it.A pitty to have missed that opportunity.
But let's see what the future will bring us.We are still pretty early regarding developemnt and adoption although already being 7 years old.

I would have loved to have heard of it in 2011 i got involved as soon as i heard about it. That is a very big mistake by you, was the difference of you possibly being a mega whale millionaire and now having less than 100btc. It is easy to say in hindsight but must suck.
My worst mistake with regards to bitcoins is that I used blockchain before and my wallet got hacked due to a virus. From then, I am only using offline wallets and on a pc which is not connected to the internet. I also advise others to not use online wallets.
That was a mistake many of us made luckily i never leave of have left enough to be a problem. Was the mistake not using 2FA?

Bad mistake? I spent them too early and didn't keep any at like 10$ price...i could have around 100k $ now.
At least you are better than me. I heard about Bitcoin in year 2011, I was like "meh".
And I heard about Bitcoin once again in year 2012, and I was like "fuck that shit". Eventually I decided to join Bitcoin in year 2013.
I could have shit ton of Bitcoin by now if I join in year 2011. Embarrassed

i sent half of a bitcoin to a wrong address
Woah, you should re-check the Bitcoin address before you hit the send button.

You did not enable two-factor authentication on your Blockchain account? I'm still using Blockchain to store a few bits, never get hacked... yet.
Well, the core itself is the best alternatives.

When I was new to bitcoins, I joined a gambling website and then thought of investing in it as it was trusted and I was getting a bonus on my first deposit. I did the same and played dice on the default choice of 32% odds which was my biggest mistake and hence I lost my first deposit of 0.25 BTC in a second.

my Worst mistake was sending my BTC to bitclubnetwork and thinking that it was a legit company  Angry
I hope it is not your life's savings. You should have do some research first before you make a deposit to random website you found.
Never "invest" in a ponzi with your money if you could not afford to lose it.
same with me. im join ponzi scheme. im invested 0.14 btc at the time, I am very regret
because I've worked hard to earn that much, but the site to be a scam. now I never again invest in ponzi site
I've learned my lesson

Ponzi websites are very attractive and hence even I invested my money (about 0.01 BTC) when I was new to bitcoins and the reviews were also good. Later on I got to know that the reviews were fake and the website was a scam. That's the reason I get upset when I see users submitting fake reviews for money as users like us get scammed due to this.

After the experienced you got by joining ponzi, I hope you never did invest again to those schemes. Even you guys can afford the amount you will lose again in your second attempt you are still dumb by joining in those schemes again.

Ponzi has same way of returns they promising to their investors so it's really easy to find out if the company is a ponzi thing.

Gambling would be my mistake with BTC, gambled around 3 BTC when it was at $20-$30 and was very angry at that, I also sold around 1 BTC at 100$ and it's worth around 4 times that right now.

Whoa. That is really a mistake. Sad to hear that. But now have you come back to what you have those days? I hope you can earn it all back and maybe have some more for profit.

My MOST RECENT mistake with bitcoin was investing in an altcoin that claimed to be tied to the Ethereum platform during the big Ethereum hype.  They got away with 330 BTC of investors money in a fake crowdsale. (https://bitcointalksearch.org/topic/ann-mercurial-mci-linking-crypto-currencies-1158117) My WORST mistake with bitcoin was erasing my hard drive during the April 2011 US pokersite seizure (Black Friday).  I got scared when the FBI flash screen appeared when logging into my accounts at Fulltilt, Pokerstars, Ultimate Bet, and Bodog.  It scared the hell out me so I reformatted my hard drive, filled it up with video, and reformatted it again...Bitcoin was only worth about a dollar a piece back then, so it was no big deal at the time but I threw quite few away for no reason.
Lol. You should not be scared because of that "flash screen".
I still remember a website that I visit and I saw that FBI screen, I was like "fuck that shit". Angry

investing it into scams... realy stupid Smiley

I see a lot of people saying their biggest mistake was investing into scams... What are these scams? Are you talking about the small p2p loans being done on LoanBase and BTCJam? or something else?
[/b]

Are the lending sites the scams you guys are talking about? Are those p2p lending sites the HYIPs we are told to stay away from?

Deleted my wallet, with 130 BTC in 2009...

Oh man that's sad, I mean 130 btc is a huge amount and cannot afford to loose, I am sure you won't be able to sleep for many days, same  happened to me last week I deleted my wallet by mistake and it was having 0.08 btc, the amount was not that too high but still it was very painful.

I made a mistake writing it, it was 2013!  Angry Lips sealed Undecided Cry
are you sure about that ? How did it happen ?
you use online or desktop wallet wallet?

if bitcoin instead of decentralization, perhaps you can call customer service and ask recover wallet lol

Desktop wallet, bitcoin core
