Thats crazy. I wont and i cant do such thing. I wouldnt prioritize gambling over school. If the money has been set into a one important thing then dont use it into another one especially gambling.

Op has took a big risk. This happens due to addiction. I haven't been addicted similar to OP. He could have given a pause when he experienced first failure and made some other plans. Somehow he had managed to fullfil all his needs even when he is in a hard situation. He seems to be good in money management.

I wouldn't say it was an addiction. I would say it was brought about by being young and reckless. I would define an addict as one who gambles every single cent he ever gets his hands on. I think OP was able to stop when he knew he already lost half of the money. He never did try to win it back and just went on and walk away from gambling.

Man, that's a great risk! You should have not done it. That money wasn't yours to gamble. That money was intended for you school dude. I wouldn't do it if I was in your place. I abide by the rule gamble only what you can afford to lose. In your case, you had no right to gamble that because you cannot afford to lose that money.

Indeed, I think that the people are doing this are insane and not good in their mind, you should never do this its for your kids man..

Well, I would say that I did this back in 2014. My mother already deposited all the money I need to pay for school for the year and also some allowance for my daily needs. I gambled around half of it on NBA odds. I lost that half. So I lived on really cheap food and really avoided buying anything. I even tried to avoid buying things I need like books just to save money. Was a gruesome year for me, luckily I got through. Wouldn't do that again.

How bout you guys, would you do it?

first of all you should always gamble with money that you can afford to lose. it is like the first rule of gambling that everyone should know before going it. casinos should have this as warning on their first page, like what cigarette boxes have a warning about lung cancer.

also, sorry to say this but only a gambling addict loses all or even half his whole money on gambling and it shows you lack control.

although it is good that you already figured this out and apparently stopped yourself before a disaster. and that is your luck right there. from now on try to only gamble with small amounts that you can afford to lose.

Well, I was young, wild and free at the time. I didn't know better. It's these experiences that makes us who we are today. Now, I don't gamble too much. I just play for fun and just a few dollars and faucet dusts. I wouldn't lose more than a hundred dollars any more at a time. So I would say I totally learn my lesson there. I would not like to go back to eating instant noodles on a daily basis.

We have the same situation OP on which I spend a little portion of my school allowance for the whole year and luckily the amount was lost is only a 1/4 on the total amount which doesn't hurt me soo much and same as you I do save up money as much as I can in able to survive the whole year since my parents would really scolded me when they know that the money they gave is being spend on gambling that's why I suffer the consequences.

I did it once too. I did a martingale on a gambling site. I multiplied my money by ten folds. Pulled out my original bankroll then played the winnings using martingale again. In the end, I just lost the winnings. But, luckily I was able to get back my school fund. So sorry for your loss OP! You should have think twice when you did it.

If you are having a problem with gambling it is better to consult a doctor rather than gambling with the future of your child. These kind of people will ruin their family and i would not dare to do so even in my dreams.

NO OF COURSE NOT. THIS IS TOTALLY INSANE. WHY WOULD I RISK MY CHILD CAREER FOR SOME STUPID PROFIT COME FROM CASINO ? I ONLY GAMBLE JUST FOR FUN. I HAVE TO WORK 8 HOURS PER DAY TO TAKE CARE FOR MY KIDS SO THAT THEY CAN GO TO COLLEGE AND UNIVERSITY. AND I SUGGEST PEOPLE SHOULD NOT USE THE SCHOOL FUND TO GAMBLE

Doing such thing is just like a suicide and i wont really do such thing and i dont want to compromise the money that is already being budgeted for my school expenses and others. If you do lost half of it you will really suffer because you let yourself do gamble on those money and you dont think about the risk would happen later on.Thats really a lesson learned for you for sure.

I never tried to gamble any money that I don't own nor money that is alloted to other things.  I always make sure that, whenever I am playing a gambling game, it is either a free money or the money that I can afford to lose without any ties to house budgets.  I never wanted to get in trouble just to have a short time entertainment.

By definition you should only bet whatever amount of money you can afford to lose since winning is not a sure thing in gambling, so no, I will never do it and what you did was irresponsible behavior since you must keep your gambling money and the money for your expenses always apart so you don't suffer consequences similar to what happened to you.

You take the big risk of loosing that money i don't used my school allowance just to gambled i will not choose not to play than risking it on the game that i can assured my winning, I don't want to get thin when i need food to eat always remember our knowledge is our treasure and we can get back what we've spend after we graduated and find a descent job.

This is really pathetic that you had lost the school fees in gambling. You were misguided like gambling could never be a source for generating money and it is a way to just to spend money if you have excess.

I guess this is a nice topic so that it can spread awareness that we must avoid gambling to generate money for any reasons.

Advisable you should change your bad habits gamble with school funds, friend. It was so harm you because you have to to suffer the consequences, I hope you do not repeat again. I never used the school funds to gamble because I realized it was very important. But once when I was at school I was gambling with some of my monthly pocket money, it is used for live sports betting with my friends. It was my first gambling Cheesy

This way of gambling only the gambling addiction gamblers does this in the hope of recovering the loss. But i wont tell that i have not done i have done but not that much, i just gambled with my 1 week signature campaign payment, but next week itself i recovered it, after that i am just following the bankroll system and have fixed daily limit in sports betting and that too split betting not all in one game. This way now my ROI is very good.

I would never risk something like that specially with funds that belong to my family or someone else. I have done this once before, but it was with the money I saved for buying something for my father. But the feeling of guilt will probably cause long term regret.
