Poor Argentinians cannot even participate in this. Apparently there's a list of 500 approved first names http://articles.orlandosentinel.com/1985-04-16/lifestyle/0290150123_1_naming-your-baby-registry-prohibited-names

I will do everything with bitcoin

once i get bored with satoshi name,
I change my baby's name
because bitcoin can buy anything  Grin

I would change my whole family name to Satoshi.

I think most of the users here would do that if someone will ask them in real life Smiley

I think it would be very similar to naming your child Jesus, Ghandi, or Madonna. It would have very bad implications for the child throughout his life. He would likely suffer horrible emotional trauma because of it.

Jesus (in Spanish, written as Jesús) is a very popular name in Spain and the Latin American countries, such as Mexico and Guatemala. A well known example is Jesús Rodríguez Tato, the Spanish footballer who currently plays for Girona FC. And it is not Ghandi. The right spelling is Gandhi. There are tens of thousands of people with that name in India. Examples are Indira Gandhi, Rajiv Gandhi.etc

The story about this project is pretty bizarre and i was wondering about ethical issues raised! If someone give you 150 btc would you?

I would! The names not that bad

If Satoshi knows that 150 bitcoins equal to the value of his name, what would he feel about this? Maybe just laugh it off. I will let my baby remember the great master instead of  changing the name with 150 bitcoins.

What are you talking about? I know many people called Jesus, and it hasn't caused them any problem. Maybe it could be problematic if they were living in Israel or in a Muslim country.

I wouldn't. I can see some future bad effects of this name on my child already and he would hate me for it.
I agree with this, as I would not do so either. I think it would likely have negative effects on the child throughout his life.
of course, cause it sounds ridiculous
