With all the recent issues effecting exchanges and their bank accounts, is anyone concerned about bitstamp? Can anyone from bitstamp give us an update on their position?

How likely is it that BitStamp's bank (UniCredit) could implode from debt problems among Slovenian banks, al la Cyprus banking industry implosion? There were more than a few articles in the financial press about Slovenia being next in line.

For example: http://www.financialmirror.com/news-details.php?nid=29485
Quote
SLOVENIA WORRIES GROW

Pledges of liquidity from the European Central Bank (ECB) have supported European equity markets over the last year, with the FTSEurofirst 300 up some 5 percent since the start of 2013.

But the troubles in Cyprus have highlighted how far the region's sovereign debt crisis may still have to run. Bad loans in Slovenia's banking sector also suggest it may be the next country to need a bailout, although Eurogroup chief Jeroen Dijsselbloem said the country was not on the agenda for Friday's meeting.

"There is zero confidence in the EU finance ministers to come up with the correct solution. Is Cyprus a worry? Yes, but it's less of a worry than the fact that we may see another crazy course of action from the EU finance ministers," said Toby Campbell-Gray, head of trading at Tavira Securities.

The festering uncertainty over the euro zone's economy caused the STOXX Europe 600 Banking Index to fall 1.8 percent to make it the worst-performing equity sector.

The STOXX Europe 600 Insurance Index also fell 0.8 percent, as reinsurer Swiss Re dropped 7.7 percent, although traders said this was mainly down to the fact that Swiss Re went ex-dividend on Friday, after which investors will no longer qualify for its latest dividend payout.

Have you seriously looked into the financial stability of UniCredit Slovenia? I'm quite curious about this. If things go the wrong way, it could break BitStamp which in my opinion is one of the few remaining BTC exchanges that is worthy of my deposits.

I was pleasantly surprised by how fast my first SEPA withdrawal from Bitstamp was. I initiated it on Sunday April 7th, and received on my bank account on Wednesday, April 10th. If my second withdrawal goes as fast, it should have arrived today (I can only check it tomorrow). It wouldn't be surprising if that gets delayed by a few extra days because of the recent crash. Overall, I'm very pleased with the service of Bitstamp, I've been a customer for about one year now. It just amazes me how short this thread is, I expected this would be about a hundred times larger, filled with complaints & the usual chattering that goes by on a very popular service.

Still waiting for a response from Bitstamp with my account having issues with my 2FA.

Emailed both [email protected] and [email protected] a couple of days ago as well as PMed Nejc... please can someone get back to me? Thanks.

We've now processed most of the pending transfers, both deposits and withdrawals. We are now beginning to work our way through the pile of other issues still open. We will do our best to get to everyone as fast as we can.

Nejc,

Keep up the good work. Fantastic service and the most usable, good-looking exchange around.

Glad to see you've set up shop in the UK. Is it likely you will at some point have a GBP denominated UK account so that you can be the first to offer instant Faster Payments Service payments?

Thanks

Psi laju, karavani prolaze.
I have been using bitstamp for over a year, various problems arose. Most were solved, tho unprofessionally (these are kids with css skils only)

i know for sure that these guys are no kids! would say that they are young enterpreneurs and still learning their business. havent got any problems yet with this exchange!

Well, they are kids lacking many skills, which is expected from kids.

edit, imma just gonna quote here, cause I couldn't have put it together any nicer myself;
14:21.25    ( mircea_popescu ) "young entrepreneurs learning the business" heh.
14:21.30    ( mircea_popescu ) that's exactly what i'm talking about.
14:21.38    ( mircea_popescu ) "he's a young dentist learning dentistry".
14:21.59    ( mircea_popescu ) on your teeth motherfucker. this is okay. because most retards are taught how to write and nothing else, then given internet access.

edit; one withdrawal moved to confirmed. things are moving,.. slowly.

edit; second moved to confirmed.

Right now they are holding my money hostage for 3 days not responding to PM.

Low as always.

Also they still have a broken trading engine (stealing from users among other things), broken Javascripts etc.... The only reason I used it for, was the convenience of having the cash next day. This is apparently now broked too.

As suggested in the newbie board, maybe indicate a queue giving each person a position in the queue or at least state how many transactions are being processed a day - a small daily update indicating for much progress has been made would put a lot of people at ease and probably greatly reduce the amount of support tickets, freeing up time to process tranactions

I asked for a wire transfer out on April 10 and it was processed yesterday.... I guess they are working through a huge backlog of withdrawals/deposits....

Also waiting on a significant SEPA deposit made on 10th April to be credited to my account, unfortunately even the "please be patient" messages seem to have dried up now and they're just ignoring any support tickets and PMs on this forum regarding the matter.

There appears to be something very badly wrong here and I would strongly advise anyone considering dealing with Bitstamp not to do so.

I'm still waiting for a SEPA that I initiated on the 9th of April, confirmed arrived on the 11th.

Also, a few other people are raging over in the newbie board:
https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=174754.60

I was told in a support ticket the transfer details all look okay, but it should take 1 - 3 days. This was after I'd received the confirmation from transferwise saying the money is in Bitstamp account.

Like pretty much all Bitcoin businesses, Bitstamp appears to be failing a bit under the load on the customer support front. Alright, it's no fault of their own (surge of customers to all BTC sites) but they could still handle things a bit more efficiently at least:

A few people haven't heard anything in days and just keep getting referred to the post about overwhelming success and change of bank details.
 - on a side note, I think all BTC businesses need to learn if you have a bunch of pissed off customers wondering where their money is, directing them to posts talking about how successful the company is, is probably not the best idea.  Typically, in the eyes of the target audience (e.g. pissed off people) the business is not seen as a success.

I think there's a balance between transparency and agency. As a customer, especially when my money has gone missing - I only have moderate concern for how much success you're having or what your bank details are. My main concern is where my money is and how much closer (if at all) you are to enabling me access to my money.

Apart from the above points, I do really like your site and service - it's one of the few exchanges I recommend. It seems one of the few pretty, speedy and semi-UK-friendly exchanges, keep it up!

tl;drThis isn't a rage thread - you have a decent site. I would, however, advise you think a little bit about your customer support and what your customers are looking for and wanting to hear when raging about money not arriving. You could save yourselves a lot of time by doing more public updates on the situation rather than dealing with lots of individual customers through forums and support tickets.

I didn't knew Bitstamp requires a verification. Is this just if you want to buy/sell with larger sums or if you want to use their service whatsoever?

ACCOUNT VERIFICATION

There are no transfer limits or trade limits for "verified" Bitstamp users.

In the event that you would like to remove the €1000 first time deposit limit on your unverified account or the €10,000 deposit limit for any future deposits and/or withdrawals, verification is necessary.

I would assume as I have deposited more than 10,000 over lifetime before becoming verified that it is per transaction or day or something.

Btw Bitstamp.net verified my account in about 24 hours, pretty neat. Still waiting a week at MtGox and only half way through the queue.

My international wire withdrawal took about 48 hours, pretty normal.

My support question took about 48 hours, which was slow, but this was during the MtGox episodes. It was a nice reply.

Good service overall. They handle a lot less volume but I'm hoping that they scale well and add some altcoins so that I don't have to use btc-e.com all the time.

This may be a new measure so I'd really like someone from Bitstamp to clarify.

10K US$ or euro is not that much money.

What are withdrawal limits in BTC for unverified accounts? Didnt find that

Does anyone know if €10,000 deposit/withdrawal limit for unverified users is per instance or per account lifetime?
