Having some issues with the Silverfish, either chained or not chained they seem to only stay at full speed for a very short period of time, then slow down over 4-6 hours, and then speed up again, and repeat.

Two things I can think of.  What is temperature like?  It seems to be more susceptible to heat with open air then the A2's with closed case.  With 6 in a row without extra cooling this most likely could be it.  Looking at setup of 6 pulling air from against wall so close together and no extra fan's or cooling I think this is best bet.

The firmware would be second thing to look at.  What does your second tab in the blades go to, does the performance (M) go to 14 and level there?  Old firmware seems to not level there.

Edit i should add this just so it's out there in-case anyone else needs this I didn't mention earlier as your mining experience is difficulty level.  But the difficulty level on pool needs to be set high enough to optimize the asic miner. If difficulty is to low it can cause high variance and low hash rates.

Temps are less than 55 , so not a problem. The are pulling 65f air right from an over head AC you cannot see in the pic.

Firmware is the latest, and is at '14'

Diff is set correct at the pool level.

I now have 2/6 blades showing a dead blade out of the 2, and they still do not remain hashing stable for more than a few hours.

So bob is this still a work in progress  for scrypt gear…  I am running gridseed blades and I have been happy with them.  these looked a little better but now i wonder.

Slightly changing the subject, but are the 1TH miners the same?  my 3 units are on the default difficulty of 256.  Should I increase this to 1024?

Good news on the 1T miner you should be fine.  Most pools will use "variable difficulty" and control difficulty on your Dragon 1T (Bitcoin miner).

With Scrypt mining some multipools really seem to make it more needed to set a minimum difficulty level that reflects device.

But with bitcoin mining for example with Dragon 1T i personally use the 256 default, and pool controls it. And I have am getting 1T very consistently.

Received 6 Silverfish SF28 today, looking great and already mining! Only problem is there is no english version of the configuration program at least that I can find.

Glad to see so many fish mining Smiley.  There so far is not a English version of configuration program, just the miner.  If anyone needs a guide on install of firmware I will happily make one of what buttons to push.

But I think all of these going out have latest firmware so should not be a problem on that Smiley

Ok this is a pretty bad one guys and I need some help.  Today I noticed my Dragon Miner was mining on just 3 boards (same settings for 1 month); so I shut it down and turned it back on. All board lights come on normally: flashing at first then on steady.

Once back on the browser menus come up normally, the window says its hashing, but the secondary stats window is stuck on the infamous "Error getting device list: ERR: socket connect(0) failed"; seen this one before only this time it never goes away.

From the pool side this miner shows no hashing for this miner.  I swapped the power supply just in case the original one finally had died, but this did not resolve the situation.

I'm out of ideas; I would appreciate help from those who have dealt with these machines more than I have...

Do you happen to be hitting the button quickly to start?  Sometimes if you hit it multiple to quick can cause.  Hit once give a few minutes.  Probley not it, but that is what i try first.

Do not flash your current card, as i like to keep it since possibly working.  But you might try flashing another SD card and see if that fixes the issue.

Thanks for your help; this was a tricky one as software looked as though it was running ok, however it was actually corrupt. Reimaging the same SD card with same software solved my problem.

Thanks for reporting back glad to hear it worked.  As always happy mining!

Great time for Scrypt buying.  There is the 90M A2 with best electricity ratio currently if meet the quantity needed if lowest price it has ever been.  And making it a strong contender in price as-well.

Also still shipping out SilverFish miners.  There are more and more fish in the sea of mining Smiley if any questions about SF miners feel free to ask.
