Makes sense in my opinion to get some alternative funding to keep on going. I don't really bother about using the premine, because thats what it is used for, to develop and expand.
If the entire crypto market wouldnt have dived down the entire picture would have looked different.
The question remains how we continue from here. No doubt the Fudsters are having their day now.
For the people still believing, we should not worry about the premine being spend already, but focus on a feasible schedule with milestones and what is needed to get there.
I dont mind the price dropping, although there will be plenty of people exiting with a loss right now.
I do like to see the team sharing focussing on what we an accomplish with the current pace of development.

- Dan has been part-funding XC's development since day one (XChat and the multipool, among other things), and funding it entirely since Rev 2.

- Specifically, XC's funding comes from Dan's corporation, which has pioneered IP over RF in marine environments.
- The premine was not dumped or traded for profit at any stage.

Dan's incentive is his conviction about the value of XC's tech.
Add this to the resources he's sunk into XC, and you've got a keeper.
This is terrible reasoning. Conviction about the value of XC's tech is not adequate incentive if it is costing you thousands of dollars that you will not see a greater return on because you are not invested in the coin by holding XC.
Unless Dan personally holds XC, there is no incentive to continue a project that will lose him money. He cannot make money from XC unless he holds XC, thus, he has no incentive to continue the project other than his "reputation" and "beliefs" which, as we all know, HOLD NO WATER.

To say XC is going down because of the overall market is just wrong. If that was the case XC would still be in the top 15 with all coins declining in a similar way. But, XC is now sitting close to number 30 on the coinmarket cap list. It's obvious that something is specifically wrong with XC. Sorry, that's just the way it is. I was lucky that I saw this coming and sold out above 110k.
I disagree sth is wrong with XC, it's just XC missing a good marketing team. Marketing is everyday fighting and shouting why is XC better then others, gaining new exchanges, marketplaces and so on...
I repat what I beliebe, price going down because:
1) investors waiting long, but no market development (no new exchanges and no xc real world applications - places where you can buy...)
2) mintpal is down - one of the biggest exchanges
3) XC recently was basically addicted to bittrex - a signle exchange. What you imagine could happen if also bittrex was to be closed?
4) no marketing actions, advertising, tutorial, user friendly manuals how to, comunity building.
Basically noone heer take care about investors and building community and the other marketing things... It's the same as to sey "we dont care about the price".
What XC needs mostly is funding community, education and marketing.
Ask yourself why other shity coins are higher? The ansewre is the clue
Fund some adds on coinmarketcap why XC is revolutionary and what plans in the future and you will see what will happend. A mirracle

It's no wonder that he started doing a bunch of code reviews on scam coins ran by pump groups. And it's no wonder he has now "refocused" the direction of XC with blocknet.

Ok so the devs posted the premine address for transparency 5 months ago but people only recently decided to check it after the coin's value started crippling?
Well, if that really is the case, there's nothing else I can say about this situation other than, if it was a dev premine dump, thats not going to bode well.
Also, what about those who ordered Tor sticks? Those things aren't exactly cheap.

As a holder (and before we got FUD'ed again) we discussed the possibilities about using the premine.
General consensus among the people online then (2 hours ago) was that we just wait until Dan explains whats what.
Even if the premine was used until now, most of us dont care so much about him eating it (guy's has to eat right) but we would have liked to see more transparency.

the transparency story is now over, even if they come up with stuff they bought with the coins who assures you that this numbers are right?
afterwards (months,weeks later) one can come up with any story and you have to eat it.

Synechist even mentioned before that the blockchain on it's own is transparent enough.

Whales are driving the price down to make a huge pump.

XC is dying.
I have 700+ XC and I am not leaving, but it just doesn't look so good for XC at the moment.
It also doesn't look very good for other coins, but they are at least 100k+ still.
I will continue to support XC.

In the beginning I thought this are whales but now it seems more like the XC team sold nearly all coins they had and a lot of bagholders are now hopping for the price to rise
