I have been trying to build the blockchain branch on a 32bit debian wheezy with this result. Can anybody help? I used libboost1.53 compiled from source.

There is nothing about Monero.
NXT was stolen.

The stolen nxt happened last year sometime. This seems to be a recent thing that's happening now.
Indeed, Bter does one and a half million on "thefts" each year. Like on a shedule. One hundred thousand a month.

The strangest issue of all these exchanger "hacks" is their common variable: Coins got stolen from someone who was not really owning them, so that person literally lost nothing. Was more sort of an asset manager on the money.
But who knows, might still be the asset manager of the very same coins, just now as a privateer.

Facts are more efficient than fud
Instead of contacting the police they are offering a bounty of 720btc to whoever 'chases' the coins back.
These scammers  need to be reported to the police asap!

Where are they incorporated ?

This is pure speculation but seeing that it's their cold wallet and not their hot wallet I suspect foul play from the inside versus what is being portrayed as foul play from the outside.

They claim it was stolen from their cold wallet.

Clearly not cold enough.

There is no excusing the fact that they either lost or stole the coins, but a wallet can't ever be completely cold unless you burn the coins. They're there for a reason.

Doomed to see the future and unable to prevent it

BTER is a inside job is my guess. Who keeps 7k in a hot wallet? Bter's Owner was in on the Bitbay scam and Chinese Gov has been threatening just like Russia to close down BTC so it's more than likely His exit strategy.

Nice, Hitbtc no mention of it on their homepage. Sign of scamming, keep deposits active.

Nothing on there is fine. Their BTC was worth over a million dollars. They're finished.

We need to look at having almost all XMR volume on Poloniex as a critical, critical problem.

If Polo were hit in a similar fashion, it would put a TINY wrench in the XMR market. The Two Kozi is/was working on a gateway to accelerate exchange adoption, correct? Unless something comes from left field like mymonero did, I think we'll have to wait for this to finish.

If you keep your Monero in your wallet (on your PC), then you have nothing to worry about.

And if you happen to be trading when something gets stolen, you're supposed to say to yourself, "Oh i should have locked my xmr away and never let the evil of profitable trading get the better of me."

Hate to be the bearer of bad news, but traders keep the money moving and that helps create liquidity which makes your stored xmr worth more. Very few people want a currency where you can't move millions of dollars at a time because the market has no liquidity.

I'm not worried about my XMR getting stolen.

I guess you guys don't remember what happened when bitcoin was small and its primary exchange crashed.
