I have been checking the coins in circulation charts here : http://monerochain.info/charts/coins

It seems the past few days from 23K+- production a day, yesterday was slightly under 11K.

The total BTC equivalent of 11000XMR is 57.5BTC at 525K sat (current price when posting) which will not ofcourse all be sold on the market as many people will be holding for mid-long term.

If this continues we will have very interesting results in terms of how the price moves when more people mine as the Block reward is Smoothly varying [3]

I think someone else can probably do analytics graphs on this and "predict" what will happen when the GUI wallet will be released aswell as more people hear about XMR.

I am comparing coins, not advertising. I provide links, facts, ideas, opinions. This forum should be about this, not about one bullshit sentence like yours saying nothing useful.

All the people here are already awared of BBR, many of us (including me) also hold some BBR from very early, so your advertisement is pointless.

The problem with BBR right now is it's being exploited by private GPU miners. Christian might be the not only one who have this optimized miner because he said the coding is not hard. And these guys don't just run it in one server, they're running optimized miners on hundreds of Amazon instances and hence dominate network hash rate. I've been want to buy some more BBR but not this time, not until a GPU miner is released to the public.

I agree, bool berry is being demolished by those with gpu's with their private closed sourced miner and it's largely unfair.

The question is also why Mintpal did not add XMR as their choice yet. It has great volume for several weeks. Maybe they want to cash paid votes for this coin, maybe their insiders are not bought into it. Or maybe they see XMR as technologically not prepared.

They knew will not last long till XMR will be nr.1, so why would they do it and lose all BTC from paid votes? Lets just hope they will be ready on Monday. Would look funny if they would say, sorry we cant do it right now, but next week Tongue

hi,  mkasiak,

I understand that you're advertising BBR, please leave here

Hi shfc,

I am comparing coins, not advertising. I provide links, facts, ideas, opinions. This forum should be about this, not about one bullshit sentence like yours saying nothing useful.

hi mkasiak, if you're considering facts, ideas and opinions then please comment on the below discussion:

Elsewhere they say the difference in speed is 2.2 to 5 times as fast. That is far, far less then an order of magnitude.

CZ decided to launch a testnet, with links to the github weeks before the coin launched. While it seemed like a good idea at the time, to test his coin .. what he actually did was open it wide for people to prey on. I find it not only probable, but instead extremely likely, that there were GPU miners either at launch or within the week after it.

His unfamiliarity with the typical nature of this board left his coin extremely vulnerable and he is now left to contemplate a hard fork to stop the abuse. Please note that with this abuse he might not even have the ability to enforce a hardfork due to potential miner take over. Here is what I'm talking about, and this is half of the daily emission. Thus, 50% of mining is done by his software.

It does not matter if it's 2.2 to 5 times as fast, the time in which his coin has been exploited vs the time it has not been exploited is very large. Unfortunately, Claymore or another developer did not provide a GPU miner to act as a crutch until such time when an open source one was ready.

Fortunately, with the slower emission .. this has a chance to even out over time. I hope the best for him, but I do not believe he grasps the full nature of variables involved in what he's doing .. this is not knocking his ability to program.

Hmm, good points. However, he could enforce a hardfork even with a more powerful miner out there, as hardforking only requires that the people using the coin update their software. If for example the dev says, "This is the new version" a rogue miner doesn't need to accept it, true, but if all the services and majority of users stick with the 'official' chain, then the rogue miner would solving blocks that no one else accepts.

That's the catch, he can do the hardfork .. but it will be at extreme cost of risking whatever marketcap it has managed to accumulate. I'm sure cbuchner didn't spend an awful amount of time making the software. He is clearly profiting, but the hard fork will now be done only if he consents to it .. else he could simply sell his stash and crush the market .. destroying confidence in the coin. I'm sure he doesn't have much invested in this other than a few power bills. So either he works with CZ to try and create some kind of future prosperity, or he doesn't and it gets ugly very fast.

The parties involved have left the adopters of this coin with something that may very well be valuable, but will never be theirs. I cannot accept that, it's just way too dangerous.

Looking for campaign manager? Contact icopress!
You can only vote without paying if you have a trade history.  Why would I buy any of those coins?

Oh wait, buy some shitcoin and then sell them and then vote!

I could be a klondike coin whale!  24hr trade volume = 0.004 btc

My advice is to buy something you can also actually sell too. And if you can sell on a price that at least covers the exchange and transfer fees, even better!

People, do not get overexcited about 1st position of XMR on Mintpal voting list.   On this thread https://bitcointalksearch.org/topic/want-to-get-on-top-of-the-mintpal-voting-list-639308  you find a post of a guy who advertises That he/they can get any coin, which pays something to Mintpal.

I have checked last 5 added: MyCoin, EntropyCoin, InformationCoin, YellowCoin and XXLCoin. It is obvious, there was no community behind them and that they could not get as many votes normal way. Monero has relatively strong community, but it got as high in voting only because of paid votes.  Devs of theese above mentioned shitcoins paid some BTC for that "service" pumped a price and cashed out by the time coin was added to Mintpal. All of them are dead now - I mean coins, not devs Wink   BTW -I have not seen a coin as dead as XXLCoin Wink

I believe Zimstake is the next one to be promoted this way and it will be interesting to see how the "voting bot" will fight XMR bagholders.

The question is also why Mintpal did not add XMR as their choice yet. It has great volume for several weeks. Maybe they want to cash paid votes for this coin, maybe their insiders are not bought into it. Or maybe they see XMR as technologically not prepared.

I was quite frustrated from using Monero. I have lost some coins in transfer between exchanges because I was not sure how payment ID works. Then I downloaded wallet, but it took 2 days to sync it, because of some strange problems. And the wallet itself - it is really for geeks, not for normal people. Many people will be discouraged all of this if it will be their first contact with this coin.

It is quite frustrating to read from devs, that they do not intend to improve wallet and make the coin more user friendly soon. I support XMR, but I have found Boolberry coin (BBR), which is also cryptonote based, but with many improvements. It has nice and working graphic wallet, it was synchronized in few minutes (block height of BBR is 1/4 of XMR). Moreover its marketcap is 1/10 of XMR. The only problem is that there are not enough investors yet.
