Hey guys,

I was trying to import a paper wallet yesterday into MyMonero. I put in the 25 word mneumonic seed and then sent 10 XMR to that address (and I just checked, I also put in the payment ID as well). Next time I logged in, I put in those same 25 words and there were no transactions present. The transaction is recorded though in my other MyMonero wallet. The importing wallet still says "Payment not yet received" when I click on "account"/"import transactions". Any idea where those XMR could have gone?

Thanks,
IAS

I sometimes notice a lag between my actual committed transactions and those that are reflected in mymonero.

Try #mymonero at IRC. Fluffypony usually replies fast enough.

It seems like MyMonero somehow didn't recognize your payment for the import. Could you mail their support as well? support[at]mymonero[dot]com?

I updated 3 days ago thinking the missing DLLs had been dealt with.  I wanted to do some wallet stuff but haven't gotten around to it.  Do I still need to update?  Thank you.  I realize I could just update anyway but it would be nice to know.

I have a question about mining XMR.  Is it possible to make an ASIC miner for Monero using the current ASIC hardware?
XMR is Memory-bound by design using AES encryption and several SHA-3 candidates, is this chosen to make it more difficult for the ASIC's to enter the market?

Thanks.

EDIT: Here's the answer: https://www.reddit.com/r/Monero/comments/285f43/is_monero_asic_miner_proof/

I presume that answer was sufficient for you?

The problem is how do I run Linux on the phone.  Not easy, that's for sure.

https://wiki.debian.org/ChrootOnAndroid

or

https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.zpwebsites.linuxonandroid&hl=en

I'm not saying it's easy, but if you don't want to pay for a VPS and you really don't have a homebase where you can plug a little computer into your router, it seems doable.
Nice, thanks.  Didn't know about those!

I'm trying to work out a way to run a Monero node on a portable device.
My Nexus 7 runs Linux, but has too little memory, so I'm trying to run bitmonerod ARMv7 on a 64 GB flash drive, but running into probs and there's only so much time in the day.
My oneplus one phone has excellent hardware, including 64 GB of storage.  The problem is how do I run Linux on the phone.  Not easy, that's for sure.

What about, as temporary solution, firing up an azure instance with a Monero full node and connect to that?

If you are running a node on your phone, does bandwidth become an issue?

That's certainly a viable option, and indeed it removes the dependency on a fixed node altogether. The hardware you mentioned seems like it should handle it. 64 GB of storage should be enough for the blockchain for a good long time.

Of course it requires working out the details but it should be doable.
