A 300 XBT buy wall at 0.00165. Fake or real?

Probably real and they know it will get dumped on going by historical trends.

Monero's decoupling from ETH.

I did notice this but can only surmise it is because of the large capitalization as it certainly isn't because of the tech. I really expected the opposite but once again I gave the masses more credit than they deserve.

first thing to learn in trading is that the market always right...  either due to the mass behavioral psychology or that it was wisdom of the  crowd, either way if you lose accept that you were wrong and learn more.
if you never accept that you were wrong then you will never learn.

My lesson learned from the markets is the fact that one can refuse buying if (s)he thinks it will go down. If one thinks the price will go up, then buying is a viable choice.
Buy when you think it is low I guess and sell when you think it is high. There are always people who disagree with your views due to different time horizons (some people are here for quick buck, others are for 2-3 years and some are for decades to come).

The point is somewhat valid for Monero though, since we do now have lightWallet, MyMonero and a few others.

Those solutions are not great though, given the issue of resources. I believe MyMonero still does not support integrated addresses for example (not positive, as I don't use it). It definitely doesn't support tx-keys (needed for proof of payment) meaning it can't be used with bitsquare.

I don't mean that to call out fluffypony for doing anything wrong, as I think MyMonero overall is basically great, but it is hard to for all third party projects to justify a lot of resources for development when the coin is small as are the revenue opportunities for such a product.

It has supported integrated addresses for some weeks now.

Onion Monero Blockchain Explorer

The key features of the Onion Monero Blockchain Explorer are

 - available as a hidden service,
 - no javascript, no web analytics trackers, no images,
 - open sourced,
 - made fully in C++,
 - the only explorer showing encrypted payments ID,
 - the only explorer with the ability to search by encrypted payments ID, tx public keys, outputs public keys, input key images, output amount index and its amount,
- the only explorer showing ring signatures,
- the only explorer that can show which outputs belong to the given Monero address and viewkey,
- the only explorer showing detailed information about mixins, such as, mixins' age, timescale, mixin of mixins,
- the only explorer showing number of amount output indices.

Tor users:

Non tor users, can try tor proxy, e.g.,

Comments welcome here or on reddit:

This is great!

Edit: what does this mean?

GUI progress ?

The GUI progress is out in the open for anyone to keep tabs on here. The dev is making regular progress.

https://github.com/mbg033?tab=activity

would be cool to have him here, i can't judge if this is more like 5% or 90%. not that i would have a problem with 5. But seeng work done  you can't judge in terms of progress is more annoying than seeing nothing actually

The project can be cloned from here: https://github.com/mbg033/monero-core
(although the wallet library that communicates with the GUI is on his fork of the main bitmonero repository and I assume it will need to be compiled from there as well)

I'm not familiar with Qt enough to tell you how to compile it (if you even want to do that), but that's one way to find out.

I will try to compile it myself tomorrow and see how much is done, I'm running into some stupid Xcode problems.

The original estimate of the timeline placed the end of development around September, so I would assume it could be ready then. Personally I'm not into unnecessary updates on the progress, just let the dev work.

Instructions from Arux here:

Is Monero core in a compileable state yet? Can one build it and test it out?

compilable but not usable.

if your system is compiling fine bitmonerod, monero-core should be compiling too.

1) grab and prepare the source:
Code:
git clone https://github.com/mbg033/monero-core.git
cd monero-core
./get_libwallet_api.sh

2) compile the qt part:
Code:
sudo apt-get install qtbase5-dev qt5-default qtdeclarative5-dev qml-module-qtquick-controls qml-module-qtquick-xmllistmodel
qmake
make

3) launch
Code:
release/monero-core

It used to be usable a few weeks ago (someone else compiled it on IRC), but I think this "issue" broke it for now:

GUI progress ?

Soon as always.

In my opinion, at some point we need a sub thread on how long is the patience of a Monero bagholder for the empty word "soon".
I think you are exactly the very right person to start that thread and discussion with the trolls.

go away please. I am sure I am not the only one tiring of your thinly veiled trolling / shilling.

when it goes up Monero is the best thing since sliced bread for you (1 k, 10 k, 100 k etc etc yawn), when it's weaker you keep stepping on its head to fill your bags.

It's understandable but fucking annoying.

Funny to see how you freak out.  Grin
Soon indeed is an empty word and doesn't mean anything. It is not a deadline but a vague expression of something probably going to happen in the future.

You are right in stating I will be buying when the price is lower than the current but on the other hand, I do not have any urgency to buy more since I hold Moneros and bitcoins.  If Monero moons I will be rich and you cannot prevent it but if it tanks I will be  buyer and you can not prevent it either.  Grin

For the mood of the thread we have to be close to the bottom. Don´t give your moneros at discount.

The bounty is waiting and will be for the patient.
