i think we will have a fair few millionaires created this year from our beloved monero. If i could hug Aminorex i for sure would, that guys foresight and insight with monero has given me the ability to completely change my life. I still believe that FPs fake news that so many criticised him for was a mastermind idea, and just gave even more exposure to monero, and in the long term more credibility.

There was no real Monero XMR pump in 2017 yet. So I think we have to expect heavy gains until end of the year or 2018.
Since Monero is a lot more “mature” than the coins getting 100x pumps I don’t really expect to see any big pumps coming our way, only a slow steady increase in price similar to Bitcoin.

With last corrections, Monero gained x6 in 2017. While Bitcoin gained x4. So Monero grew half faster.
This growth is nice, but yes it is not growth that some coins had in 2017 x10+ or even x100.
According to my rule of thumb the near-term target is .0293 BTC, or 117 usd

That was nothing compared to the huge pump last year.
That was growth do to use case increasing from adoption with insider knowledge doing some manipulation and with those markets gone it was natural for the price to slide but then there was an intentional suppression which is easily spotted and that has been going on for the life of this coin. the only difference now is the Whales are Institutions and hedge funds from outside the crypto sphere and they have Bank capitol.
So IOW be very careful if you play it this market as it's no longer a place for the weak of heart, keep margin levels over 100%.

AFA I'm concerned it was a correction after a deliberate manipulation to accumulate. The price has been suppressed for no reason whatsoever therefore it is whale manipulation and now that they have accumulated, well you guess.
This is a great time to buy if you afford it, this market is being intentionally suppressed and we all know what happens when that stops.

IMO, yes. See Gyro's post above, plus mobile wallets are coming out soon, and so is Kovri I2P and hardware wallets.

According to their announcement it will be listed sometime Friday. http://bithumb.cafe/archives/10619
They are also having a couple of events around the whole XMR listing. First they will give you 1% more monero for depositing on their exchange between Aug 23rd and Noon on the 25th. The second event will start after its listed on their exchange and end on Sunday. The top 50 traders get up to 100xmr each.
I suspect the price will hit $300+ by Sunday.

Monero is the most useful anon coin ever made in crypto.. I think it will at least double its price in just 2 years. Doubling up is my safest bet. Think.

So you see it going straight to $10k range? This is a very very bullish outlook IMHO.
Certainly not straight, although if you look at it on a decades-long logarithmic chart it may start to look close to a straight line . As others have said before, reality is not only stranger than we actually imagine, but stranger than we are capable of imagining. So too the exponent of Monero's rise.

Have you done estimated withholding for your ICO gains? If not, I recommend holding some xmr for 12 months, so you can pay the penalty rate. If your AGI is below 75k then the long-term capital gains rate is 0%.

Please remember that if the price is too low, then a dramatic rise may be required in order to correct the market price. We are currently experiencing a price correction, and the question remains open: is the correction going to the logical risk-adjusted discounted value of cash flow with infinite duration, or will it pause for a while before it continues to correct?
In the first case it would continue up for a couple of orders of magnitude. But given the historical madness of crowds which has allowed XMR to remain undervaled for so long and to such a large degree, I rather expect the price to pause and stagnate somewhere between 100 and 200 until more information leaks to a larger pool of investors, of greater liquidity, causing the upward correction to resume.
