He doesn't care, and that's good. It's better to work on the tech rather then listening to investors, beleive me  Grin Cheesy Cheesy

I don't fundamentally disagree that the tech is more important than investors.  I am personally not at all upset.

However, I can see some people who have supported this through thick and thin are a little pissed off.  For them, it's one thing to not care, it's a step further show it having a joke around at their expense.

Yeah, well if you are a supporter and long time hodler you will know what the message behind those statements is  Grin

Well, then sit back, have a cup of tea and wait for the bloodbath when BTC retraces --> weak hands = cheap XMR

I don't intend to wait until the bloodbath, I like to sell too early

If you are a long term holder or contributor to the technology the whole speculator scene affects you little if at all, unless you choose to pay attention to it.

I am very glad the crypto market is self regulating and allows smaller players to play with small amounts of money. I also hope that this stupid prank doesn't give ammunition to TPTB to find an excuse to close our unregulated playground and make the requirements too onerous for exchanges to continue as they are.

Concern trolling in fine form.

If you don't think TPTB have endless excuses to do what they want to the crypto trading playground should they decide to do so, you haven't been around much. This one incident makes no difference whatsoever.

However, I can see some people who have supported this through thick and thin are a little pissed off.  For them, it's one thing to not care, it's a step further show it having a joke around at their expense.

Yeah I agree with that pretty much. My view is speculators gonna speculate. If you don't like it, just ignore it, rather than getting into the mud with them.

If you are a long term holder or contributor to the technology the whole speculator scene affects you little if at all, unless you choose to pay attention to it.

All the candles from the one hour out to the last 6 hour are green. Just sayin'

For me it is just funny how nearly everbody overlooked the Paxos/Bank news, which are huge.

I think the fact that big european banks like Citi will use their blockchain which incorporates XMR technology is very bullish and speaks a lot about how good the tech is and could help with XMR adoptation and further software development.

XMR has a great future, a trolling action more or less wont change that.

I still don't get what banks will achieve by incorporating decentralized permissionless ledger into a centralized company.  It seems a burdensome database that would be hard to 'cook the books'.  How well could they secure it?

A note to everyone jumping onboard for a pump and dump: Monero doesn't do that.  If you dump, you will probably find yourself coming back later, only to find your next buy to be half the size of your last buy.

This seems funny in retrospect. Or sad, depending on whether people took your advice or not.

This is Cryptocurrency. This is absolute Wild West. Dude owes you Nothing.

If a crypto gangster kidnapped his wife and locked her up in a Fritzl cellar gargling balls all day long, do you think Spagni would rest easy that he didn't owe anybody anything?

Spagni has her picture on his twitter account ffs, who would do this, having done that ... don't nerds like Spagni realise how many gangsters there are in this space, they don't tweet when they're pissed off, they cut off ears and noses.

Bullshit... if that was true BobSurplus would've been killed 10 times over already. And a bunch of other scammers.

Honestly i do not get what some of you guys are up to  Huh

fluffypony didn't do anything wrong, if you believe twitter posts, America will be great again.

Just cool down a bit, and let the tech do it's job. In terms of speculation, this was an ordinary pump and dump driven by lending and some guys who took out their profits. Take a look at all other coins, which really were pumped like hell without, and that is my opinion, any usecase at the moment speaking. I don't see any darkmarket accepting ETH or BCN.

In the long term XMR is going to be a good investment in the future, just stay on the path, your original thoughts and strategy  Grin

Agreed.  Plenty of worse and far more reckless things have been said on Twitter of late.  Perspective is important.

Which ever way you polish this particular PR turd, it remains defiantly a turd.

Even if so, this event is highly overrated and as soon as everybody gets it, we can move on.

What is there to 'get'?

This situation reminds me of a guy called Gerald Ratner -- in the 70 and 80s he had a large chain of jewellers across the UK built up over decades and worth millions.  He catered for the low end of the market lets say cheap and cheerful. In an interview with some periodical he casually let slip that the jewellery his shops sold was 'mainly crap', which it was, everyone knew.  He didn't mean anything malicious by it, he was just being honest. But the quote was jumped on and became front page news.

And that slip cost him his empire - the entire chain (no pun) was worthless within 12 months/two years and he spent his remaining life haunted by that quote.

Business and investment is often run on the magic known as sentiment.

You are right and I remember it well, but the flaw in this analogy was that he wasn't saying Monero is crap and patently he doesn't (and we don't) think so.  He was saying the likes of 'forthcoming announcements' (rather than working on good tech) is just crap - and to not expect this from him.

I get it, though I grant you that he could have made the point some other way given that hundreds of millions of dollars are involved.
