Crypto is the separation of Power and State.

He intentionally set fire to other peoples money in the name of his ideals.

Fluffy may only burn other people's money if they foolishly grant him the power to do so, via their greedy tweet-based speculative gambling.

That lesson is the entire point of the exercise.  Here in Bitcoin Land we must trust code and not individuals.  If you don't get that, even after a good cry and long night's rest, crypto isn't for you.

Please understand the more you sob, remonstrate, and bitterly complain, the more it demonstrates exactly how well-timed and crucially important Fluffy's brave, selfless act really was.

I loved every second of the Downfall parody (IMO one of the best subs of it ever), but it gives me no pleasure to give notice that you are the whiny rage-quitting Mike Hearn here.  Undecided

My hope is that you snowflakes will toughen up in time for the start of the actual rodeo, when BTC+ALT value exceeds that of IMF SDRs.  Tongue

Don't follow leaders, watch your parking meters!

12 months from now as the price 2x,4x, etc, this will be forgotten.
Buckle up and enjoy the ride!

Price is higher than before the announcement. Time to get over it. Viva Monero!

Bitcoin runs on drama; Monero runs on comedy.

QED  Cheesy Cheesy Cheesy

Fluffy's brilliant maneuver is reinvigorating the XMR project and associated markets.

Heat from self-immolating speculators melted the snowflakes, redistributing increasingly precious XMR from weak to stronger hands.

Many noobs experienced their first crypto-baptism of fire.

Only the those worthy of Satoshi will learn, heal, and grow.  The rest will move on to scams like Dash and OneCoin, where they will be fleeced yet again.

I'm curious to know what Aminorex makes of this. He was there at the meeting. I wonder what the reaction was?

Go back a few pages.

He hasn't posted since before "the incident".

The dump started Wednesday at 3 PM Eastern time, three hours before the presentation was scheduled. Monero went from .023 to .018 before the fake news actually aired at 7 PM. Some one was in on the joke and made money. Looks pretty clear to me insider trading was going on.

This is what really bothers me even though it doesn't effect me at all.

Has anyone considered for a moment that that news article a few days ago calling RS the CEO may have been intentionally phrased so, knowing full well that he wasn't?

Come on, dude. Look at your post history, you're a dogecoin troll. It's nice how so many trolls are jumping out of the bushes pretending to be heart broken by Monero.

You are right and I remember it well, but the flaw in this analogy was that he wasn't saying Monero is crap and patently he doesn't (and we don't) think so.  He was saying the likes of 'forthcoming announcements' (rather than working on good tech) is just crap - and to not expect this from him.

I get it, though I grant you that he could have made the point some other way given that hundreds of millions of dollars are involved.

Could he have though? I've seen this sentiment a lot since the troll job went down, but what evidence is there to support it?

He's said since day 1 that markets are irrational and don't get caught up in the pumpers games. To trust the tech not the personalities.

And yet still people are just here to ride the pumps. They don't care about the fundamentals. As evidenced by his "troll". If he could have gotten his message across some other way, well then this pump wouldn't have been as crazy as it was. By the very act that it happened it proves that this was the only way to really make his point.

A cryptocurrencies value is not in the personalities behind it. It is not in the pump potential. It is in the tech, plain and simple. People can be coerced, they can be manipulative, but the code doesn't lie.

I don't think you - read my posts back.  I have no problem with him saying it.  But saying in advance there was an announcement coming was a tease.  He must have known it would affect price.  It didn't bother me overly he said it - I even respect it, but doing it as the punchline of a joke has not exactly gone down well, and since he must have known it would not, it was perhaps a little reckless.

TLDR?

The message was fine, it is reasonably valid to question the delivery of it.

That's all - spilled milk now.

Alphabay will begin accepting Zcash starting July 1.

https://www.reddit.com/r/DarkNetMarkets/comments/6d7q81/alphabay_will_accept_zcash_starting_july_1st_2017/

As a black market entrepreneur, would you want to use a currency helmed by a group of professionals, or one helmed by an unstable, anarchist cypherpunk, who has a history of rocking the market for his own amusement?

If I owned a DM site, I'd pick the most private, untraceable, fungible coin available that doesn't require me to trust the developers, whether that means a trusted setup or the trolling/hype of developers. Put it this way: I'd risk my life only on the best tech, and that's Monero.

Zcash may have many "professionals," but you have to trust them. I'd rather trust only verifiable source code and math, as is the case in Monero. Plus, now that Zcash is in bed with JPMorgan, I don't see how anyone can trust them.

FWIW, the price has recovered. That does not surprize me at all because Monero has always been focused on the tech, not hype. People not only want but need true fungibility. That's demand, and that's why the price will continue to be good. People can trust that it's 100% about the tech and not about hype or corporate partnerships. The price will follow that.

They added ETH last month so they dont really care, but give their customers to chose.
