Sure shook out some critters tonight. That's okay they can buy back less Monteros following four weekly greens anyhow :p

Personally, I'm considering buying a boat, and am wondering if mine would sink?

Only if you bring your wallets.  Do It!  If you haven't lost it all in a boating accident yet, you are falling behind the status quo.

No. I told you before. If we were in traditional finance FluffyPalmface would be under investigation now.

This isnt traditional finance. Thats the point.
Monero is making a stand.
They are trying to carry out on a different path than all these coins with investments from big banks and backroom deals between billionaires and mining pool operators.
Monero will focus on the developing the code for a good coin. Anyone who doesn't like the vision can choose not to participate.

Monero does not need a "public face". Why do you think Satoshi Nakamoto used an alias?
The code is what will stand the test of time, not some corporate spokesman.

Do you think, after tonight, he is still fit to be the public face of Monero?

You still don't get it, do you? If you want a different public face for Monero, go out and do it. No one nominated Fluffy.

at this point it's an unfounded conspiracy theory that he did this.

No. I told you before. If we were in traditional finance FluffyPalmface would be under investigation now.
You can NOT do this. It fundamentally rise too many suspicion.
Saying "but I don't believe" is not enough at this point.

1. If you want traditional finance, what the fuck are you doing here?

2. Fluffypony does not have access to his exchange accounts and from my impression of him, doesn't even trade much. He also doesn't need a little more money he might make from something like this.

3. Yes he's a troll, but he's not a crook. In my opinion. Do your own homework and make up your own mind.

Not sure whether the price would correct. This was just purely fucking over average people with insider information. There is no moral high ground for fluffypony anymore. Monero is a great coin, but it sure lost some enthusiasts tonight. And what worth is a coin without adoption?

For me, Monero now is just another coin. It will be remembered as the coin that tried to scam average investors with false announcements.

The love is gone. And I didn't even trade.

Can you please move this discussion to scam accusations. Some of us are still trying to speculate. 8

My prediction: as soon as the "I bought XMR without knowing what it is" people have been shook off: back to 0.025. And then higher.

Investors? Is XMR a stock for a company?

You Zegra can not decide if investors are welcome or not in cryptocurrencies. It's not because cryptocurrencies can not be viewed as traditional companies that they're not open to investors. And anyway the crypto economy as a whole is 99% full of investors so if you do not like it you can leave.

Like if one dev team doesn't need anybody to buy their currency. Nor do they have any interest in people buying it.
Enough nonsense. Few guys on this page are still trying to convince themselves that FluffyPalmface did nothing stupid. Yet he did. Period.

Where did I say investors are not welcome in the crypto sphere? When did we start talking about cryptocurrencies in general when this is only about Monero?
You're putting a lot of words in my mouth I did not say.

Also, I don't blame you for telling me I'm defending him since you can't remember everyones usernames, nor that you should care, but I've said myself my respect for him is lowered a bit. I'm not defending him, I'm pointing out wrong arguments. On BOTH sides. I'm not picking a side or supporting everyone who is "in favour of this action" or "against" it as it fits my agenda. It's the arguments that count.

Monero pumps in reverse  Cheesy

That's just it.  It's the same thing either way.

Fucking people over is fucking people over whether your motive is financial gain or altruism.

I am not overly concerned...  My own stake may have swung an amount that can be measured in Teslas but it is MY OWN ASS that is responsible for the decisions I am making here.

"Trust no one" is a good lesson.

But I would say it is more apt than clever.

FLUFFY told everyone so many times "NOT TO BUY MONERO" if you trusted him so much why didn't you guys listen then!!

He's also said on many occasions that Monero is not about him, yet consistently goes out of his way to make it all about him.

I don't think anyone trusts him much anymore, and that's part of the point.

The other part of the point, is that regardless of FP, Monero does its thing.  Yeah, he fucked the price for a while.  Monero still works great though.  While I did suspect him of trolling, I still bought some around ~0.021.  They will be under water for a few hours/days/months, but after 3 years in Monero, I'm pretty used to it AND  I am responsible for my own trading decisions.

What a clusterfuck. Monero lost a lot of good will today. I like to think that fluffypony did not manipulate the market for personal gain. The only news I was able to take away from the lousy audio was that MyMonero is in process of making an Android app, but we knew that a month ago. No release date I could hear.

There was never any dates given in Monero. When it happens it happens. No one knows 1 day in advance. No announcements no hype. That si how game is played last 3 years.

@Igor76200

You seems not understand what Monero is. This is not a company. It has no one employed. It has no owners.

FluffyPalmface himself probably did.

Sorry but I do not believe this. Even though Fluffy has gone a bit down on my respect scale (he's still pretty high tho), that's NOT how the guy his personality is.

He says he didn't trade on it, and that's fine, but others clearly did, and that's not so fine.  Epic troll, but epic poor taste and execution.

Who traded on it?

There is no reason to believe

I think there are more than enough reasons to be suspicious about it.
Like it have been said earlier, that kind of move in the regular asset market would lead you to an investigation by the SEC

But the point he (appears) to be wanting to make is that there is too much speculation in crypto and he would have to be a complete corrupt asshole to speculate on this. It might have been irresponsible but a this point it's an unfounded conspiracy theory that he did this.
